A solid episode that ends with a bombshell. The bulk of the
episode was around the idea that this kid created software that
allows you to basically "print" a gun that can be used to fire
real bullets. Of course, his invention ends up getting himself
killed with the very gun he makes. That was Story A. Story B
revolved around the mysterious person that gave away $1 Million
each to 10 "random" people. Turns out that the 'Guardian Angel'
is none other than Sid (Robert Joy). Turns out he gave away the
money because those 10 people had family members that were
connected to cases he had performed autopsies on. The bombshell
is that he confides to Jo (Sela Ward) that he is dying of
cancer. Very sad scene. I've always liked the character and the
actor that portrays him. I like to see him saved and continue on
with the show.

This has been a great week for interrogations. First we get a
barn burner on Person Of Interest
HTML http://pennycan.createaforum.com/tv/person-of-interest-(season-2-2012)/msg15720/#msg15720<br
/>and now we get one here. Civilized Lies could also be called
'How to con your way into a confession'. This was a fantastic
episode and probably my fave this season from CSI: NY. The
confrontation between the two perps at the end in the cell was a
great payoff for sure. Chained to a bench and all you can do is
stare at the man that gave you up and not a damn thing you can
do about it. Hahaha. Sucka!!

I like solving cases on shows like this and CSI. But I have
noticed that lately, it's just not something I'm drawn to
anymore. I rather see the smaller stories of certain characters
outside of work. I find these to be far more fascinating and
deeper because they usually involve some serious emotional hook.
In this episode, a small portion was devoted to Jo, who gets a
mysterious visit from a man she's never met before. Turns out
that he had a heart transplant and it was Jo's sister's heart.
So, you can imagine the emotion involved in this one. Also, I
like the other small story involving Lindsay and her pregnancy
announcement and everyone placing bets....an office pool.
FYI, the main story involving the case was boring as hell, and I
couldn't have cared less about it. Had it been a case worth
solving, this episode would have gotten a perfect score.

Meh. I wasn't expecting much, but they wrapped this up way too
easily and there was no tension whatsoever at all. It was just
average. But I don't understand why they had DB (Ted Danson) on
this episode. He didn't do anything. All they had him do was
stand around or follow Mac Taylor. Dropped the ball on this one
and if this is how the writers are going to do crossovers in the
future, they should just quit.

The most interesting things about Blood Actually was not the
cases, but the things going on with the cast. So now it's
starting to happen with Sid. His illness cause him to miss a
small detail during examination of a victim. It was small and
forgotten about immediately by Mac. But we know that he will
start to make more and more mistakes which will obviously force
Sid to come clean about what is happening to him.
I liked the last 5 minutes of the episode where everyone was
doing their own little Valentine's Day thing with their
significant other. Bonus points for having Josh Groban singing
to add the soundtrack to punctuate all of their scenes.
