Slender

[glow=red,2,300]Slender is Pure Horror[/glow]
HTML http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAu1tDWDBoI
You start in a dark wooded area with no weapons, a sense
that something horrible is about to happen, and a nagging
feeling that you can’t do much to prevent it. Such is the
beginning of Slender, a free horror game you can play right now
HTML http://www.mediafire.com/?vql3a6fbjq0qbbv.
Based on the Slender Man mythology popularized through a
Something Awful thread, and further spread through forum
chatter, YouTube videos and even Minecraft, the game’s tall,
unrelenting creature pursues you through the inky black of a
fenced-in forest. Slender doesn’t bother telling you why you’re
there or if it’s possible to escape. You’re given a standard
video game goal – find eight pages – but the terror unlocked by
discovering and collecting the pages obliterates the task’s
comforting familiarity.
Few horror games thrust you so directly into the heart of fear.
All of Slender’s elements – the lack of a map, the threat of
instant death, the slight element of unpredictability of the
page locations – all contribute to a pervasive sense of hopeless
vulnerability as you frantically flee an unknowable predator who
may or may not be directly behind you.
I was extremely anxious watching the video and even though I
knew what was coming, I still s h i t my pants when Slender
Man revealed himself at the end. I hate you Mac!
Must get game for myself. I do all my gaming with headphones so
that's just gonna make things worst. You gonna play it or what?

The file size of the game it tiny, so it's gonna play on any PC
with no problems. I'm gonna wait till tonight to play it. It's
too bright in my room right now and I don't want to dilute the
experience.

However long ago it was, maybe 8-9 years ago on the PS2, they
had an XFiles game and it took place in an abandoned town at
night time with Zombies. You played either Mulder or Scully with
your trusty flashlight and had to hunt for clues. But at any
given time someone was bound to jump out at you. Zombie, cats,
etc...
It was creepy even though the mechanics and game play were weak.
I still have the game, but I haven't played it in years. Slender
will take over from here on out.

I remember in my days of yor playing a game, Blood I believe,
late at night, total darkness except the monitor, and the sounds
alone scared the crap out of me. I wonder if this would surpass
that.

I was freaked watching the video and it was in broad daylight.
I'm actually dreading playing this tonight.

Huh, I was thinking about this today... out of the blue. I was
thinking what makes this so scary... Slender is not SCARY in any
way. Is it like the movie Blair Witch Project where the people
are getting wrapped up in it so much?

The game play itself isn't scary, but the anticipation is. It
still freaks me out. It's the subtle noises that's in the game
that makes it so, at least for me anyway.
