I bought this too when it first came out. Have listened to parts
of it on occasion over the years. It's a box set trying capture
all generations of The Mac, but concentrate on the successful
years. Before digital downloads and the only thing available
were actual CD's I would strive for the best package out there.
I'm not a completest but did enjoy searching for the most
complete set. The Chain at the time was the best out there.
Now listening to it, well, not so much. It has a great number of
songs, I don't care for in the least. The first disc includes
the early years of Fleetwood Mac. I'm not into blues that much
and the other songs are just very different then the hit making
machine they became in the 70s'. Then there are a number of
songs that members of the band wanted. Hit or not.
Looking at it now, I'll probably sell it. I know I will never
listen to 1/4 to maybe half the set. That's still a lot of songs
that will get played but better greatest hits sets and digital
individual songs available, this package is no longer what I
would like.

How much was the set when you bought it? I'm guessing at least
100 bucks right?

Oh good lord. I don't think so. I mean I don't think I've ever
put out that kind of money on any music I've owned. I do
remember spending a pretty penny on a couple of imports, in
particular at the time April Wine box set.

I pick this sumbeyatch up tomorrow. It'll be interesting to
compare and contrast our review.
I would say, from all the different sources I've been reading,
it's either been generally well received to it rocks like the
old days. So I've got my hopes up. Tattoo was the first
released, but hearing other reviews, that's not even on the
radar of ones to check out.
