Pulp Fiction soundtrack - various artist
The music works well in the movie, but it has that scattered
feeling here on this disk. The only one I really like is Chuck
Berry's - You Never Can Tell

oh and I forgot, I like this song too for some reason
Maria Mckee - If Love Is a Red Dress
She can hit those high notes... nice

Not as strong as Vol 1, but there are a couple of keepers here.
Most notably Goodnight Moon by Shivaree. The style reminds me a
bit of Amy Winehouse. Just a good moody piece.
I like L'Arena by Ennio Morricone and Malaguena Salerosa by
       Chingon (great Spanish guitar)

       [CENTER]Urge Overkill - Girl You'll Be A Woman Soon
  HTML http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xo228wllnYY
How can Chuck Berry be the only song you like from the Pulp
Fiction Soundtrack? I bought it specifically for Urge Overkill.
Also, I'm detecting a pattern here. Mac is on a Tarantino binge.

Actually I do like the Urge Overkill song. That was one of those
songs I had to listen to over several times. I just really like
       the Berry song strongly.
Yea, I am on a Tarantino binge lately. I do recognize his love
for music and it's different. I like finding new stuff.

  HTML http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Star%20Ratings/HTL_03star.gif[/img]
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this album. Sara has a
great voice and great range. She shows that in a couple of
songs, but still she sounds like a lot of other artists.
I do like the retro sounding swing hit Gonna Get Over You. It
reminds me a lot of a little know artist Michelle Shocked.
Here's the goofy video. Goofy in a good way. The very end made
       me smile.

       [glow=red,2,300]Achtung Baby – U2[/glow]
I have never given much time to U2. I do like some of their
hits, but in a passive way. I never felt the need to check them
out and see what they are about… until now. I’ve seen the new
major enhancements to some U2 projects and people saying blah,
blah, blah is the pinnacle of their work. So I decided to check
       out Achtung Baby.
Not impressed. There is not that magic. That connection. I am
not saying they are a bad band. I’m just saying I don’t hear
what I really like in other bands. They don't move me. It just
happens that way sometimes. So I’m not going to rate it. I’m
biased and that would not be fair or logical. Why listen to me
when I don’t particularly care for them.

You need to start at the top with U2's masterpiece, The Joshua
Tree. This is completely different in style and tone to that of
Achtung Baby, which was when they were trying to reinvent
       themselves.

       Thanks, but I've heard enough.
       [glow=red,2,300]Pat Benatar - Ultimate Collection[/glow]

I probably haven't listened to Benatar for 10+ years at the very
least. I like her stuff, it just seems she faded into the
background. This woman is truly a rocker. Her small body with
the giant voice puts her into a class by herself. Her
husband,Giraldo, is credited for the composing of just about
       every song.
This is a great collection. It does require 2 CD's because her
catalog of hits is that big. There were only a couple of songs I
was not familiar with. The downside, this definitely places me
in the 80's mindset. It some respects that cool, but in other
respects, it does sound dated. Drum machines, certain keyboard
and guitar styles of that time.
Bottom line, give this a listen... Just fantastic stuff.

       [glow=red,2,300]The Essential Guess Who[/glow]

I'm giving this only 2-1/2 stars because I think they are
pushing the hits here. I've been a fan forever and think Burton
Cummings voice is so unique to the rock world. His contributions
and song writing are hit and miss. The hits are fantastic. The
misses are just so-so. And this 2 CD collection apparently
anything that had some notice, whether good or bad. I did not
recognize about 1/3 to 1/2 the collection. I guess they were
hits in their home country of Canada.
There is nothing new here, but just a chance to hear the great
songs they've made over the years including the very beginning.
Yea, that was not all that great.
I'd recommend a single disc with all their hits, which there are
       plenty.
