The Temper Trap - Conditions
I'm not sure what to think of this band yet. I don't recall how
I ran across them. It was probably Pandora. Anyway, the breakout
song Sweet Disposition is good and pretty much the formula for
the rest of the songs. I swear the drummer does not play a 4/4
beat. He really mixes it up helping with the unique sound these
guys have.
My main issue is with the falsetto singing. Not a fan of it,
except on occasion. It works here but slew of songs is not to my
liking. I definitely need to listen to this several times.

Dave Mason - Live at Perkins Palace

I've been a Dave Mason fan since his huge album Let It Flow. A
master guitarist and amazing voice are unmistakeable. This live
album is just Mason with Jim Krieger on Guitar. Some interesting
takes on songs. Very intimate feel, but I do miss the rest of
the band. I liked what I heard. Recorded well for a 1981
concert, but I don't think I'd listen to it very much.

Within & Without - Washed Out
A chillwave ( a new term I've not heard before) artist I picked
up from Pandora. Got a chance to listen to this yesterday while
working in the garage. Perfect background music. Ethereal and
transports you if you like. Really can't understand the words to
well. It's just the music. I liked [glow=red,2,300]Soft
[/glow]the best, most of the songs are consistent on this
formula, a couple not so much.

Led Zeppelin - How The West Won

I'm torn. The recording of various live shows are amazing,
especially for the years they captured.
But, they do include more audience noise than I prefer. The Bass
I feel was really held back in some songs. But, this is me, I am
not a fan of jams or extended solos. Maybe actually watching
them in concert would have been cool, but to just listen to
recorded jam solos does nothing for me. I wasn't a big fan of
the drum solo Moby Dick, no less than a live extended version.
I'm glad I got to listen to it, but it only make me appreciate
the studio stuff more.
I'm sure Zep was awesome to see in concert.

I'm torn. As others have said, it's like there was no time lost
between now (2011) and their last time together 23 years ago.
The sound exactly the same. The problem seems to be the songs
for the most part sound alike. With that distinctive Guitar
rhythm, drum beat and vocals, I couldn't tell a whole lot of
difference between them.
Slick production. Sounds fantastic. So yea, I'll listen to it on
occasion... just not something I'll be picking up.
Their first single from Move Like This...

Looks like Storm Thorgerson had influence on the visual style of
the video... I'm guessing

I've only heard a few songs from their new album. But what I
have heard I like a lot.

Tesla - Twisted Wires & the acoustic sessions
This is an all acoustic album spanning in review their 25 year
history. I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of Tesla. I've come to
love their bigger hits though and I bow down to them for
starting the unplugged sessions and opening the flood gates to
other bands following that formula. Some songs just sound so
cool acoustically.
The recording is crystal clear. Beyond that, this album is OK.
If your fan, I'm sure this is perfect. I just didn't find enough
in it to bring me back to it.

Lindsey Buckingham - Seeds We Sow

LB is a brilliant complicated man. I don't know what's going on
with his solo efforts. When he's in the company others like
Fleetwood Mac, magic happens. When he strikes out on his own and
does his own thing, I don't get it. I hear little nuggets of
what could be gold, but as songs go, there is unevenness and
chaotic melody. Not one song on here appears to me to be radio
worthy. I'm not sure I'd ever listen to this again. A couple of
times I had to do a double take at the CD player and remember
who's CD was playing. A couple of songs just sound bad. Like the
recording was bad and the timing was bad. Then the next song
would be a nice harmonious written and recorded piece.
I praise him for being guitar work and being under-appreciated
with skills and talent, but another solo project that just
doesn't do it for me.
