Comment on forum activity.

The forum has been active for about a month now and I know that
is hardly enough time to even get the word spread around but
there are about 11 members now signed on and it appears like
everyone is waiting for someone else to post something. Now I
know there are a lot of members that are unhappy with the
direction the club is headed (at least that's what they tell me)
so this would be your opportunity to let off some steam.
According to the newsletter it's looking like next years
officers will be the same as this years officers. I'm sure that
will make a lot of you happy. If you don't like the way things
are being done, step up and speak your piece. Maybe there are
others that feel the same way you do. Mumbling to yourself isn't
going to change anything. Won't someone start the ball rolling?

It is amazing that you started this forum for the club members
to use. If you would look at the club roster and see how many
people have internet access that they can use this. What really
bothers me is that as you say there are a lot of members that
are unhappy with the direction the club is heading (people are
also telling me the same thing.) Maybe the people that are
reading this and not responding would open up and tell me and
the other club members what the club is doing RIGHT especially
the members that made a unanimous vote at the club meeting that
we cannot make negative remarks about the club. I will say it
again read the ”Constitution and By-Laws of the Pekin R.C.
Club.” “The purpose of the Pekin R.C. Club is to
establish harmonious relations between fellow aero modelers and
the non-modeling public. This organization also strives to
encourage and guide the beginner and novice modelers regardless
of age, sex, creed, or color. The Pekin R.C. Club also
recognizes the need to facilitate mutual and orderly
gatherings.”
So when is it wrong for me to make a statement for what I feel
that something is wrong? In this country and they call it
"FREEDOM OF SPEECH." :'(

It sounds to me like the powers-to-be are a little naive as to
how a public forum works. lol You can't moderate your way to
popularity. Let the people have their say. Listen and make
changes or don't make changes, but to just say no negative
remarks is hilarious. I would love to join the local flying
club, but hey if it's going to be a sit there and shut up sort
of club...
There has been a massive influx of inexpensive starter systems.
Counter-rotating blade helicopters, slow flying park flyers,
etc. I know of several people who are in the process of learning
RC using these. Should be making a place for these people to
meet and greet. My $0.02
