the house that heaven built // open

[sup]Well, well. It was certainly an interesting thing, being in
a new clan. With a new name. Back in WindClan, he'd stuttered
like there was no tomorrow. When the clans disbanded? Well, that
had been an opportunity for him to rename himself, for him to
restart. Basically, in short, he'd taken that chance. Changing
his name from Metropaw, the former medicine cat apprentice of
WindClan had fled to BarnClan, changing his name to Tigertalk,
grateful for the chance to start all over.
Would he miss healing? Oh, of course he'd miss healing. Maybe
he'd be allowed to heal here? The young tom sure hoped so.
Sighing lightly, Tigertalk sat down, eyes blank. What was there
to do? No hunting, he cried over dead animals, only if he had to
kill them or watch them be killed. Fighting? No. He'd only just
gotten over his stutter. Sighing again, he simply sat there,
waiting for something to just, well, happen.[/sup]

Reggie sighted the other tom and was tempted to walk over and
make small talk, but convinced himself it would result in a
catastrophe. The young tom hadn't been around other cats since
he was a kitten, and he was afraid he'd do something stupid. So
the gray tabby sat down a good three yards away from Tigertalk,
glancing his way every once in a while but mainly keeping his
focus on the ground. Someone could come talk to him if they
dared.

Countryfield had been hunting by herself by the hay bales,
minding her own business. A certain mouse and her had a rivalry
going on that had lasted at least a month. No matter how close
she got to the dang thing, he always managed to slip away. The
only way she recognized him way by the scar down his left flank
that she'd given him at their first encounter. To be honest,
Countryfield despised this one particular mouse. She had always
failed before, but this time? The mouse was going down.
The calico was crouched low, slowly creeping forward towards the
aforementioned mouse, who was quite busy nibbling on a
particularly delectable straw of hay. As soon as she was close
enough, Countryfield leapt for the mouse, eyes trained on its
tiny, brown body. The mouse seemed to turn to face her at the
speed of light and disappeared into the hay. Country could've
sworn the darn thing had smirked at her. Then she realized that
she was headed straight for the edge of the bale and attempted
to stop herself. "No, no, no, nooo~!" Countryfield shrieked as
she tripped and fell from atop the round bale, heading straight
for Tigertalk.

The sudden exclamation caused the tom's head to turn in Tiger's
direction again, and he cringed as a she-cat toppled over the
bale. And then he couldn't help himself. "Are you okay?" the
gray tabby asked worriedly, daring to stand up and pad over to
the two.

This tom really could say that he always walks into something at
the wrong time, this time the leader was in time to watch
Country go straight over the edge of the bale, and towards
Tiger, why did he let that tom in, it was obvious to him that
the life of the warrior did not suit him, maybe he should talk
to someone about that.
