{o}rdinary fools

Desertstar stared at the canyon wall. And stared, and stared,
and stared. "I'm so booored!" she yelled, collapsing and rolling
onto her back. Still as a rock, she listened to her voice echo
down her home's enclosing, rock walls. "Where is everyone?" came
an irritated grumbled. It was around dusk, and she hadn't seen
anyone during the entirety of the day. "Hellooo0~?" Desertstar
called out, hoping for a response.

Hearing a call, the call repeated, it sounded like Desertstar
was bored that's for sure. Lightchaser Phantom poked her head
around to where the noise was coming from. "Hello Desertstar"
she meowed looking at the leader hoping she could be somewhat of
an amusement to the leader

Solarblast was hoping to continue on with his 'little' nap, even
if it was for a bit longer, but he also knew that his family
would have to head out for a hunt soon, whenever the rocks seem
cool enough, though when Desertstar's voice started echoing
around the canyon, he let out a sigh, the fawn tabby wasn't
going to be getting any sleep, or any relaxing cloud watching
done while the leader was bored. Slowly rolling off of his back
and onto his belly and even more slowly actually standing up,
this tom made his way to where the leader had placed herself,
while yelling out for a response, it was too much of an effort
for him to respond.
It didn't take him all to long to spot the leader and also
another member of his family, Lightchaser, though it wasn't not
long after that when she called out a hello, staying still and
listening it echo off of the walls, Solarblast took now to make
himself known. "I am assuming mostly everyone is hiding from the
heat" the tom meowed in that sleepy like voice, since he really
only just woke up.

After a few seconds of silence, a warrior responded to her
distress call. Desertstar internally smirked. When she cried
out, they were but slaves to her will. Calm down, Desert. You
didn't get enough sleep last night, but we shouldn't be
egotistical fools around those who follow and respect you, her
logical side told her. Reluctantly agreeing with her own
reasoning, Desertstar turned to Lightchaser with a smile.
Realizing she was still on her back in the dirt, the
not-so-dignified-or-sophisticated-at-the-moment lilac tabby
swung herself around and lifted her small, long body up to its
paws. "Good to see you, Lightchaser," she stated, clearing her
throat. When Solarblast suddenly spoke, she jumped a bit in
surprise, bringing her blue eyes to rest on him. "Like you just
were, I assume," Desertstar purred, knowing full well that her
starry-eyed clan mate had been napping due to the sleepy posture
he was showing.

Lightchaser smiled at her leader "well you could have just
jumped on someone until they wake up" she meowed with a little
giggle "I would have if i was as bored as you seem". The small
calico gave her chest a quick lick before stretching, it was
sure getting hotter, but it wouldn't last... winter would be
here in a matter of heart beats!

Desertstar blinked. She had never though of that! Oooh, I like
her, Desert's unlogical and slightly rude side giggled. A slow
grin spread on Desert's face as she examined Lightchaser in a
new light. Slowly and purposefully, Desertstar began to groom
herself, ridding her brightly colored coat of all dirt. "I have
found my new best friend." Desertstar purred, a pleased shine
coming into her eyes.

Lightchaser wasn't sure if she heard the leader right or not but
she didn't want to say anything, she just continued to smile
with her eyes closed enjoying the warmth the day brought- though
this would change as soon as she stepped a paw in the
sunlight.... "What shall we all do today.. hunt?" she asked
trying to make conversation

"Would you two like to? I've been thinking about going for a
mouse or two lately." Desertstar explained, forcing herself to
behave like a polie, sophisticated leader. I'm just tired, she
thought with a sigh. This mousebrained weather is making it hard
to stay away. The lilac tabby though with a sigh.

Light nodded "I don't see how a mouse or two could harm the
day.." she agreed before getting up flicking the dust off her
tail before heading out towards the horrible bright stuff
created by the sun...

Desertstar nodded in agreement. "Come whenever you want,
Solarblast," the lilac tabby called over her shoulder.
Excitedly, she filed herself after Lightchaser.
