"Shut up" he hissed to her, god she could be annoying- the fear
scent coming off her explained everything. He started to walk
off in the other direction. "Please keep quiet" he muttered as
he lead the way away from danger.

she followed, letting her fur lie flat and followed her mentor
with a narrowed gaze. spottedpaw flexed her claws, shooting
glances in the creature's direction. it had come out of its
hole, lumbering around and grunting. it spotted them and made a
noise somewhat resembling a hiss, and took a swat at the air
with its huge paw, as though visualizing hitting one of them.
the badger lumbered forward, towards them, and spottedpaw
       gasped.

Rayclaws reaction to the badger lumbering its way towards his
un-confident apprentice allowed his "father" to kick in, he
lunged at the large creature, distracting it from the little
she-cat. Its head turned as the cat flashed in front of its
face, as it turned its side was now facing the she-cat. Rayclaw
stood, crouched infront of it waiting to see if it would attack
him. Sure his pelt was bristling but it was more of a warning
       bristle rather than agressive bristle.

spottedpaw was unsure what to do -fight or run and get help? she
ultimately wanted to fight, bristling and waiting for something
to happen, though. the badger lashed out at rayclaw viciously,
hoping to catch the tom's side of shoulder.

rayclaw managed to dodge the first attack, though he was
questioning how many more he would be able. Once he was out of
the way he lashed forward aiming for its nose, but only managed
to scrape its lip. it was like a warning shot and it would only
       probably make it more agressive.

it swatted another hefty blow at rayclaw, bristling and
grunting. spottedpaw's orange body flashed behind rayclaw, now
catching the badger's eye. it grumbled at the two cats bluntly,
       shifting his weight around.

"Mouse brain you aren't ready for this, if your not comfortable
with a fox-" he cut himself off as he lunged for it again trying
to swipe at its ankles. "your not ready to take a badger on" he
       eventually finished.

"this is my assessment! i'm going to pass it!" spottedpaw hissed
fiercely, eyes shining. the small apprentice feinted right, then
shot left and struck the badger on the side fiercely, causing
blood to drip slightly. the badger lifted its ankles angrily,
aiming yet another quick swipe at rayclaw before grunting and
turning to spottedpaw furiously. it aimed a blow to her now, but
spottedpaw ducked quickly and nipped its ankles with a hiss.

Yes she was fast, but he had intervened- she couldn't continue
to be assessed now. He rolled his eyes after dodging the blow,
he went to dash to the closest leg- only to be kicked out of the
way. It took a good couple of seconds to get up once again, his
side was bleeding but he glared at the badger, this thing had
       made Spottedpaw mouse brained.

spottedpaw shot a quick glance at rayclaw, hoping the badger
wouldn't land more attacks on rayclaw -his side was already
bleeding. the badger's next blow hit her on the ear, causing a
trickle of blood to stream down -she'd survive. the she-cat
scurried forward to bat at its muzzle furiously, then kicking
her legs out so violently the badger stagged backward. she then
fell back again, panting. "we can beat this thing, rayclaw.
you've taught me how to fight, and i can use it now. it's not
like before when i didn't know anything and that fox attacked
-i'm not having another near-death situation." spottedpaw
gritted her teeth, watching carefully as the badger lumbered
forward and took a massive swipe at both of them, which skimmed
the orange she-cat's side just enough to make her give a small
yelp, although only a small prick of blood trickled down.
