change in the air} open, smallstar and her kits

the she-cat padded along the forest confidently, checking her
kits almost every few seconds with worry. when one of them
stumbled, whoever it was, she would give them a comforting nudge
to get back on their feet or steady them. smallstar hoped
flightlessstar or rayclaw would find her, wonderkit,
sapphirekit, and fairkit, but who knows? the riverclan leader
paused to taste the air before muttering something and going
towards the strongest scent of thunderclan cats.
wonderkit's paws were about ready to drop off, but she kept an
even pace and kept up substantially well. the she-cat wished she
had eaten before the trip, but she had been eager to meet her
uncle. the almost-apprentice she-cat glanced around the new
surroundings softly.

Fairkit started to play as he followed his mother, meaning he
was a little behind but still keeping up.
a rustle in the bushes gave Rayclaw away, he jumped out and
looked at her, he had a freshly killed mouse in his jaws - which
he had been focused on the whole time. he dropped it "Smalls
what are you doing here?" he asked "You dont look well" he added
after looking at her more closely.

"i'm fine, rayclaw." smallstar mewed, although she was pale.
"meet your nephew and two nieces, fairkit, wonderkit, and
saphhirekit." the she-cat mewed matter-o-factually. "i would've
brought avalonkit as well, ut she's much too young." the
riverclan leader informed him simply. her golden eyes clouded
with grief then, "and.." her voice faltered. "and
collagespectrum had died."
wonderkit bounced to her supposed uncle. "hello. i'm wonderkit."
she mewed factually, eyes shining happily.

Rayclaw smiled and licked Smalls on the forehead, "He was old
and now hes in a better place" he smiled, "Would you like to
come to camp and catch up with Jazzkit, Robbinkit, Patchkit and
Moonkit?" he offered "Flightlessstar and Bubblestar have made an
alliance connecting us by an arranged mating." he explained

she nodded, although confused about the arranged mating, but she
let it go. "yes, i would. i'm sure my kits are tired, too. oh,
how are you and flightlessstar?" smallstar mewed questioningly.

Sapphire peered out of the brush to watch her uncle hoping he
wouldnt see her. She then moved to her brother's side but kept
looking at her paws.

He smiled down at the kits "Flightless and I are doing
reasonably well with the kits, though of course they are getting
annoying now. I suspect you went and are going through that now"
he meowed winking at the kits, before turning beckoning with his
tail for them to follow, "Sapphirekit, wonderkit and Fairkit;
are you tired" he asked preparing to offer to carry them.
