       Drawing and stuff
By: Red Date: June 16, 2013, 1:49 pm

any of the visual artists have good refs they like to work off
of? I'd like to get better since art is like, the #1 thing I
       suck at :I
I'm just trying to draw people and develop my own style, but
       it's slow go, and I'm unsatisfied because I don't know what I
should work on fixing and stuff. I'll post some crappy doodle if
you want to see where I'm at, but I'm mostly just asking things
at this point. I know most of the theory (perspective, yada yada
yada) it's just a matter of applying it or NOT applying it
       hahaha.
What was your biggest roadblock starting out?
       What's your process like?
       What's your biggest roadblock now?
What's hard for you and what's easiest for you to do as far as
       technique?
Also, any general tips and things to watch out for?
       Anything helps!

I have absolutely no idea where to start telling you that there
is no right way to go about art. :I
I mean, I started out from a crappy how-to-draw-Manga book in
third grade and just sort of went from there. One main piece of
advice would probably be to draw from real life, or to try and
imitate other artists, if only to see just how they do what they
do. (I particularly like animator's work, if only because all of
the expressions you can get :DDD )
As for process... I usually just start out with the basic
skeleton/sketch of what's going to happen in the piece, or maybe
a thumbnail if it's going to be something complicated.
At the moment my biggest roadblock will forever be anatomy. It
       is my main weakness.
       WHAT IS TECHNIQUE
also not all of the expression is in the face body language
       helps too yup

       Yay someone responded hahaha!
Yeah, I've definitely noticed that once I started drawing with
refs I managed to take so much more from my drawing experience.
I haven't been drawing from refs lately though, so maybe that's
why i think I suck hahaha. I'm definitely most inspired by
animators and animated works, not only for expression, but just
the mastery of movement and depth within a 2 dimensional medium
and art style in general. Lately, I've been digging Madhouse and
Ghibli, and I'd most like to emulate something along those lines
when it comes to characters and people, so I guess my next step
is to gather as many refs as possible and start drawing hahaha.
And I probably still have one of those how-to-draw-manga books
lying around somewhere, but who knows where exactly hahaha.

All of those are male whoops (ones androgynous tho um)
It's mostly just roughing it out.
Once you start sketching, practicing and being patient, you'll
       eventually improve. :v
       Idk what you asked
iPods are hard to work on
       Um
I hope these help I use them when I need to
       You can look up refs
       It's easy
