I like predicting how humanity would adapt to different
scenarios.
But idk how many other people would put so much detail into it
as us.
If we can actually make this thing, work out all the nooks and
crannies, then we ohmygod I've never gotten that far
It's so amazing, have like a three year Rp. Whoa.
Back on topic, has everyone voted? There are 4 of us right now,
so I'm just thinking we should keep it like that until we have a
complete product since no one else has joined so far. It'll be
an open Rp, right? In case someone decides they really do want
to create a character.

I had this whole story construction in the back of my mind since
like last night, but then I suddenly realized that I've had
something that involves most of the details here already
constructed. More on that later, I was like 8 when I thought of
it and developed the world on and off until I was like 13, so
most of the details are pretty shitty, but with enough
alteration, it may fit the bid.
Additionally, I can include the previous construction I was
thinking of if people want to review it. The biggest difference
between the two at the moment is that I have a large portion of
the lore for the latter already written and documented, while
the former only sprung up during the duration of this topic's
lifetime.
I'm not going to give you guys much of a choice of what I
present, because I'm just going to do it anyway. Muahahahaha.
The only problem is that I'm at work right now, so I'll hit you
up when I get home.

Here's a preview for my latter story universe. This is a
schematic for the mechanics of an elemental fighting system -
more on that later.
I'll make it quick, because the integrity of the privacy of this
information is at an increasingly high risk of being
compromised.
EDIT: I've removed the image because it needs to be cropped and
resized. Once I'm home, I'll also be able to add critical
information needed to understand what's going on in general.

This is all looking pretty grat.
I have a couple ideas of some ways to tie in the whole 'no
touching but fighting' and the whole 'but bro fists', via the
whole 'CULTURE'
But actually I just had an idea right now and I'm going to
prompt this by saying I'm currently suffering from a migraine
and may not make any sense to anyone myself included but I'll
see if I can make this coherent because it may or may not be
something that we could srsly work with yo.
Okay, so we want maybe sci fi, but we maybe want fantasy, and
then touch but no touch, and all sorts of stuff that's kinda
contradictory... Unless you're talking about two very different
cultures. And that would only be probable with two very
different environments. Which is totally do able. BECAUSE LOOK:
So if you take my idea of sky cities floating over 'poison' smog
akfhsa and what, modify that however you like, you have an
environment that is essentially a massive machine. Super sci fi,
maybe steam punk-esque or maybe not, we can build it however we
like. Point is, there's gotta be some sort of machinery there
that keeps the whole place above the fog. And also you've got a
severe lack of resources, except for maybe machines that turn
air and water vapor into pure water, and then you have a need
for food, maybe veggies an stuff but soil eventually runs out of
nutrients. ANYWAYS, all this sets up, after
years/decades/centuries of being in the sky, a sci fi society on
the verge of collapse. This could prompt all sorts of weird ass
shit, ex fighting (OVER RESOURCES??) being legal, touch not
being legal, idk pretty much anything humans do crazy shit to
stay alive. So yes, there's that culture.
But what if the poison smog, after all this time, is no longer
poison??? It used to have crazy stuff in it that caused all
sorts of stuff to mutate, but once that stuff mutated it had
immunity, maybe even the ability to consume that 'stuff' in some
cases, and soon the fog was pure. Dark, oppressive, but pure.
And underneath the fog, the world is completely different. As
fantasy-esqe as we like, because crazy mutations open the
doorway to literally ANYTHING WE WANT within a bit of reason.
Crosses of species, carnivorous plants (because, you know, they
can't survive on sunlight anymore because FOG), water that fuses
together with other molecules and gains sentience, whatever the
fuck we want. A fantasy world, brutal but survivable, and just
super intense. We can through in a lot in here, because
MUTATIONS and YEARS OF UNDISTURBED EVOLUTION and FUCK IT WE'RE
GODS LET'S DO IT. But obviously, the sky city did not take all
of earths population when it fled the polluted ground, because
there's no way it could support that. So some humans, maybe many
humans, still live in this fantasy world. They might have
evolved, there could be possibly multiple species of humans,
whatever, but there is something vaguely human-esqe.
.... There's 4 of us.
.............. 2 sky city dwellers who crash to earth.
..................... 2 fantasy humans with a completely
different culture who find them.
.................................... Does anyone else think
that, with lots of edits, this could possibly maybe be fucking
awesome???

@Tree - I like the idea, very Skyward Sword-esque. I'm somewhat
in favor of the universe, but there's other things I'd like to
append to it. In one of my posts, I noted about a relatively
less developed universe compared to one I had worked in much
detail to. I would like to incorporate a few of my ideas from
that less developed world into yours, and it could be really
grat.
I kind of have a problem with floating cities, noting a lack of
resources and the fact that the level of [s]human[/s]
intelligence needed to lift a hunk of land off the face of a
planet would leave a written record somewhere in the timeline.
(EDIT: They're also done fairly often.) Also, poisonous gas
wouldn't leave there to be any development on the surface at
all, no matter what the time period. If you count evolution (if
not spurred by a supernatural force) taking billions of years to
develop relatively complex lifeforms on the face of a "dead"
planet after the gas has developed into a safe substance, that
leaves a huge hole from the amount of time life forms thrust a
floating island into the sky to when they rediscover life on the
surface.
Also, if poisonous gas covers the land, how would the initial
humans/lifeforms manage to survive long enough to 1, develop the
technology to provide a means of flight, 2, carry out such an
endeavor as creating the floating city, and 3, power said city?
Now given, if we're counting on fantasy to keep us aloft (no pun
intended), we can fill in the gaps.

Alright, you've got some really great stuff in here. But because
I'm in class, I can't really type a lot so I'm going to cut to
the point really quick and then go back and congratulate you
later c:
Emily will be joining us soon, so the 2/2 thing is grat but I'm
just going to wait for her vote before I change the poll. (then
we also have an outsider's view on this situation)
Two things:
First off, I was thinking of making a really quick timeline,
which might have to wait for when I get home but it's connected
to the second thing. (This timeline can be changed by everyone
because we're a group Rp and these aren't just my ideas o v o)
Secondly, with a timeline to help keep us on track, we could
make a multitude of Rps based in this singular off-dimension
we've created. That way, the people who want to Rp Steampunk or
Cyberpunk and such can just switch to one of the Rps running
alongside the others that tell the history of a "Present Earth".
(Note: Red, I haven't had time to read your post yet, so this is
not to be for or against your comment :v gomen gomen)

Here would be a really quick, shabby timeline because class(if
anyone likes the idea, I will go into detail):
-Humanity goes into a nuclear war, through this war there comes
an era of cyberpunk-like things
-Because energy only lasts for so long, I figured that something
would become so corrupted that it just deteriorated the entire
society-> years pass and the land becomes reborn
(Of course there would be a few times where absolutely nothing
happened, the creatures of the planet right themselves and such)
-sh, bell. I was going to go into the "present era" but I can't
gomen gomen

Oh you flatter me, haha. And yeah, I definitely think that
incorperating some of your ideas into either of the 'worlds'
within my world could be a melting pot of awesome.
RIGHT OKAY SO, here we go. I don't think I made myself super
clear, so I'm glad that you asked because it gives me a way to
explain myself more. First of all, I'm thinking that humans
caused the 'poison' smoke - think the smog over China now, fast
foward a couple hundred years when efforts to go green have
failed and we've pretty much killed the planet, and you have the
sort of smog I'm talking about. So all of the ecosystems already
existed, albeit in a twisted/destroyed form. So they've been
working for years, probably, on some way for humans to survive
while the smog gets worse. They think its poison because of
whatever this 'stuff' in it is that causes mutations -
obviously, people with this stuff in their body are gonna start
to mutate, but humans don't do so well when their genes change
in the MIDDLE OF THEIR LIFE because that's kinda not healthy.
It's called cancer. xD
Anyways, so my point is, we're not starting from ground zero
(pun intended) when these cities are being built to fly - we
already have lots of human life and everything else that's on
Earth today. Additionally, the gas isn't really 'poison', like
'inhale it and die immediately' poison, but more 'this is gonna
mutate the crap out of everything so BUCKLE YOUR SEATBELTS'
.... Uh
........ Am I making more sense yet, or is it still really hazy
(pun intended)?
Edit: ACK WAIT I DON'T GET WHAT HANNAH'S SAYING ANYMORE
CONFUSIONNNNNNN. ;u;

@tree - Yeah, that fills in some gaps. Here's my personal
timeline for this universe.
Planet's created | Ancient beings come to planet | Build ancient
technology| Humans fall from the sky >
/
Ancients find out they're hurt by gas | Ancients create floating
city for humans | Humans develop culture >
/
Humans forget about surface and make rumors | Humans become wary
| PRESENT DAY >>
This leaves the island's creation to a supernatural being which
unknowingly provided for them with various nutrients. Idk, maybe
it rains often. Also, the humans would need to have more
problems - airborne predators for example.

@Red - Whoooooooooooooa what. I'm not sure I'm following, but
that may just be due to the fact that I'm barely coherent. ^^;
So like, the plant is created and there are ancient (magical??)
beings that come to exist somehow and have lived there for a
while. That part I get.
But like.
How do humans fall from the sky if they don't have the
technology to be in the sky yet? And then how would there be
humans still on the ground, because presumably the ancients
would make the city big enough for all the humans.
Unless you didn't mean fall from the sky literally, like maybe
the ancients went into hibernation or something and then humans
evolved and started destroying the world and then the ancients
woke up and sent them away?
Or maybe I'm completely off base so Imma shut up now.
