Oh, Castaway..
Crocodiles and Alligators shed their skin like snakes do, though
its in patches and individually much unlike snakes that molt.
c: Perfect, yes?
I actually find it really gross, but it'd be natural if Raoul
shed.
I really hope Ben doesn't turn into a stalker. He's totally
harmless, I promise. u v u

Yay! A good, strong start!
I have slightly updated the description for the RP on the google
doc thing, mainly just throwing in random clarification as far
as what's happening with the crystals and stuff. If you disagree
with it, change it yourself.

So I've decided to pretty much read up on what I missed, and I
finally understand what's going on now! Yaaay!
Arright, so in addition to what I've already appended to the
google doc, I'd just want to run my plot by you guys and see if
it fits or just to make sure I have everything straight.
So we have three different dominions of beings, the Skydwellers,
Oceandwellers, and Underdwellers, or something along those
lines. The skydwellers are really political and kinda posh to an
extent, and as for what happened in the first post already, it
looks like their precious civilization (all of it?) has been
bombarded/destroyed/sunk by a deficiency in the nuclear
atmospheric waste beneath them? This causes them to fall into
the Toxic Ocean below, where the introduced Skydwellers will
probably meet Castie's and Gris's characters. Conflict arises
between the two factions, with confusion on both ends. Maybe the
Oceandwellers had no idea there was a city above the clouds and
vice-versa. The Skydwellers are probably pretty homesick/culture
shocked by the sudden decent and the Oceandwellers probably
don't want to be first in line to help them, they just want the
stupid city out of their crappy ocean*. Anyhow, the
Oceandwellers probably have a pretty neat market and trade
system set up, with a relatively extensive collection of
information about a whole bunch of things, like far off lands
and stuff, idec. Thriving on the industry of basic mechanics,
the ocean civilization is thrifty and efficient, and in
addition, detailed and eloquent, which makes up for what it
lacks in coloration. Arts and culture have a boom because of
extensive primitive resources that are found to be easily
harvest-able, which contrasts the more conservative practices of
the Skydwellers. Does this make sense? No matter how thrifty
Oceandwellers claim to be, because of the islandic upbringing
and the pressure of the Skydweller's society, Oceandwellers will
always be viewed as a wasteful bunch, because the Skydwellers
had to ration resources so well.
Now I bring you this quote:
--- Quote from: Captain Castaway link ---
>
> Well- hey, the Seadwellers have an alternative energy source,
yeah? Red and I were talking about this, and I was thinking it'd
be pretty coo if it was in the form of crystals. Maybe it has
something to do with the crystals, that's currently dissipating
the toxic cloud, or something else, and if they get to that they
could stop the skydwellers from crashing into the toxic ocean or
something idqueso, but the Underdwellers are really interested
in it or something?
>
--- End Quote ---
I wanted to make this clear. In my mind, I think that the origin
of the crystals start with the Underdwellers. In the underworld,
by many mysterious means of which I don't really care to
develop, an ancient breed of crystals emerged thousands of years
ago. The underdwellers have thrived on this.
STORY TIME! Okay, so to add to the lore, the Underdwellers began
as Oceandwellers a really, really long time ago, until these
crystals were discovered that increased longevity and fairness
in the common Oceandweller. The crystals became sought after in
the underground, and once word reached whoever the leader was of
the Oceandwellers at the time, (maybe their government has since
collapsed, and citizens are living in the remnants of the city.)
his curiosity was perked. He demanded one as a gift for his
queen, already one of the fairest (sorry, that's pretty cliche).
A crystal was discovered by the prince and his men in the
underground steam tunnels of the city. A dark trader (cliche)
persuaded them, saying that the particular crystal had been
taken from the core of the origin of all crystals borne at the
time. Because of this, its effects were more powerful, he
claimed, and carried an uncountable number of other untold
effects. The crystal was bought and mounted at the highest
price, by the most skilled craftsman, into a necklace. The
necklace was then gifted to the queen on an occasion, and things
took a turn for the worst. As the queen put on the necklace, it
burned her. As it touched her skin, it began to peel away at her
flesh and took control of her being, destroying her in the
process. The king, upon witnessing/hearing about this, became
infuriated, and ordered a ban on the use of the crystals, which
defiance of was punishable by execution. The counterculture of
the time rebelled, and claimed that the queen was simply cursed.
Due to a large number of people who disagreed with the king, he
had no choice but to simply banish them. Many of the skilled
craftsman who had taken a liking to the material of the
crystals, left with the counterculture, and they all entered
into the underground through the steam tunnels of the ancient
city, beginning a new civilization of their own. /storytime
Okay, now that that's over, I was saying that the crystals found
their origin in the underground, where ancient demons and beasts
roamed. The demons discovered the potency of the crystal energy
and developed ways to harvest it and utilize it to do things
they couldn't normally do with their deficient bodies. As time
passed on and pirates/raiders came into the underground seeking
lost treasure, the demons and beasts were killed off, or fled
into the core of the planet, to lie dormant. The raiders
obviously took the crystals back to civilization, where the
previous story took place. Once the counterculture crept into
the ancient mines of the late demons, they called it home, and
discovered how to extract the crystals and bred them to make new
and more efficient ones. It is there that they lie in wait,
(with a burning hatred of those who live above them?) developing
their own way of life in the quiet and darkness of the mines.
Does this sound alright?
EDIT: forgot to mention that the Underdwellers recruit the
Deepseadwellers of the Dark Depths, which i take are rejects and
the deformed of the Oceandwellers?

There are just a few things I can clear up with the Skylanders.
There are multiple Sky Cities and they all have names but we
don't have a map or anything like that (if someone comes up from
the Sky Cities down below we'll just make up a name) but they
fall every once and a while. (Its like, the cleaning of the
atmosphere/damage to the propellers keeping the cities afloat)
There might be a few other things, if you have questions you can
always ask me about it. (Tree too)
Yes, conservative is one way to put it, their society has bred
the emotions from their people (or as much as you can) and are
really proper but also kind of vicious um (they're carnivores
after all).
When the cities fall, the people who survive are enslaved btw

First Question: Did we ever send Red the new thing on the
species and races and stuff? Because that would help a lot to
fill in the gaps for the culture and such
Also, the Skydweller cities have been falling for a while, some
of the minor outlying ones, so the Toxic Ocean has had time to
adjust to these new pretty flying people. And this will be
elaborated further in the RP, but let's just say that the Toxic
Ocean isn't the safest of places.
and suddenly I have all of the ideas for the Underdwellers with
their new and improved backstory~ *mwahahahahahahhaha*
