Hostage Blasphemers
By: Half-Blood Date: January 15, 2013, 4:16 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Mercury radicals have just shot down a Helicopter flying over
their northern borders.
Rodger Wilcox has sent out live Video feeds demanding that the
Blasphemous people that sent them come forwards and beg
forgiveness at his Holy feet, they have 24 hours to reply. Or
the chopper crew will be publicly executed on a world wide live
feed
OOC: anyone that wants to RP this just respond in any way you
think appropriate

Response from the Canadian Coalition:
The crew of the CH-148 are to be returned unharmed to a
contingent of Canadian Soldiers who will be landing on Mercury
soil within the next 12 hours.
Or Else.

Region IV will provide inflight refueling and any other
requested support to the Canadian Coalition. Theological
Extremism can not be tolerated in these trying times.

A representative of Rodger Wilcox Screams over a live feed at
Canadian Coalition:
"No more Heathen's are permitted to set foot on Mercury's
hallowed ground without his holiness Messiah Wilcox's express
permission"
He then closed his eyes and began chanting something in Latin as
the feed ended

It is the opinion of Erebus, that the forces of Mercury were
well within their rights to shoot down an aircraft flying over
their territory. We would also like to advise the Canadian
Coalition that an invasion of Mercury will not get them their
pilots back, only lead to their death.

The CH-148 Cyclone that was shot down was over international
waters at the time, the aircraft was crashlanded into the sea
where the crew was able to bail out into a life raft, where they
turned on their locators and headed towards the nearest land,
where they were captured by Mercury Extremists.
Canada is willing to negotiate, however, if we do not get our
pilots back alive, there will be consequences.

An audio only message is sent out:
A man with a calm authoritative yet slightly menacing voice
speaks "This is Rodger Wilcox, you can have your pilots back,
you have my permission to come onto Mercury soil to collect
them. When you arrive there will be 4 jeeps waiting to take you
to them. You send anymore men than can get into 4 Jeeps and they
will be told to wait at the beach, follow these rules and your
pilots will be unharmed.. Deny and they shall be Sacrificed... I
give you an hour to decide"
The mic is held to one of the pilots heads followed by the sound
of a kick and another harsher voice "Speak up!!" The Pilot says
he is unharmed but has no idea where he is
"Remember you only have an hour" Wilcox repeats taking the mic
back
The message ends there

Canada has agreed to the terms. An LCAC will land within the
next 2 hours, carrying a reinforced platoon of Marines. A squad
will then board the jeeps, while the rest of the Marines will
pull security on the beach.
As the message was sent, the HMCS Bonaventure sailed into line
of sight on Mercury, surrounded by its strike group, as a
warning to the consequences Mercury shall face if they go back
on their word. There was also rumours of a Carrier Group close
by.
A platoon of Marines, numbering 30, reinforced by a three man
C6A1 GPMG Team, three man 60mm Mortar team and a two-man RPG
team set out in the LCAC towards shore. In they're number
included a US Navy FMF Corpsman and a group of US Marines
trained to coordinate Naval gunfire and air support.
(43 Men and women total, not including the LCAC Crew)

complete with an M134 per bunker covering the Jeeps.
A man in yellow robes was stood by the Jeeps, waiting for the
Marines

As the LCAC neared shore, the marines knelt down into assault
positions and racked the actions on their weapons, prepared for
an ambush. As the craft hit the beach and the ramp lowered, the
marines ran off onto the beach and took up positions behind a
small embankment. A squad of Marines moved towards the jeeps and
the figure standing nearby.
Back on the Bonaventure, Marines were on standby to reinforce
they're fellow Marines if things went south.
