The Giotan Nation

Hello to all
The Nation of Giotan is a nation that is the rebirth of the
countries Haiti and the Dominican Repunlic, and became a wealthy
and prosperous nation in the following years. This is the link

The Giotan Revolution started in 2049 by rebel forces seizing he
port city of Port-de-Paix. Here is a background leading up to
the revolution.
After a long period of Depression, new off shore drilling
technology allows Haiti to drill oil and generate revenue
quickly and it become rich in a short period of time in 2020. In
this period of wealth, the Haitian Government Decides to
re-create the Haitian National Police, which was disbanded
during the depression. They decide to purchase old Soviet and
Russian weapons, vehicles and uniforms. They also create the
National Police Special Forces, trained by the Russians to
suppress an uprising, or defend the nation against attack.
Although new technology allowed for new off shore drilling, it
depleted the oil extremely quickly, and the nation went into a
four year long recession in 2022, and many people who struck it
rich became poor once more.
More oil deposits have been located ,in 2026, and oil and cash
started flowing again. The Government decided to drill less
wells at a time, and extend the period of time that oil was
being extracted. But eventually, in 2030, the oil ran out,
again.
In 2032, many people are getting fed up with the unstable
economy, because new deposits were found. Some Haitians were
talking about an uprising, but they were violently tortured and
publicly humiliated by the NPSF, who wiretapped virtually every
phone and computer in the nation. Many people took this time of
fortune to get rich and leave the country for the United States,
knowing that the country would fall back into a recession or
even another depression. New oil was found in 2036.
The Haitian economy was relatively stable for 10 years, but it
crashed in 2046, and chaos erupted. National Police and NPSF
squads roamed the streets and openly shot anybody making a
protest or argument against the government. But due to the poor
economy, the government was unable to pay for wiretapping, and
future revolutionary leader Robert Ender contacted the US
government with an idea. He proposed that the US train any
ex-Haitian citizens in the US to fight against the corrupt
government, and create a democracy. The US agreed, and trained
15,000 Haitian volunteers and supplied them with equipment that
was going to be retired anyway, like HMMWVs, M1A1 tanks, and
LAV-25s. In 2049 The Dominican Republic, located on the same
island as Haiti, collapses. The US and Haitian revolutionaries,
change their plan to include the Dominican Republic also. This
future country would be called Giotan, due to the fact that
Ender lived in a village called Giotan, and that where the
revolution will begin. The US Navy sent down a Wasp Class
Amphibious Carrier, and told the Haitian Government that they
were just doing some war-game scenarios. But at night, they
launched the US trained forces from the Carrier, and they moved
into the village of Giotan. During this time, some of these
soldiers distributed weapons around to different villages, and
told the people to be ready to attack once the revolution
starts. One June morning, the attack began, and the Giotan
forces swept into the near city of Port-de-Paix. The Giotan
revolution had begun. First battle report is located here:

Sorry for not responding earlier, I guess one reason is that I
have seen these guys so many times, but one thing I would like
to say is maybe use more poses.

keep in mind that the Nation is just beginning, and they rely on
other nations weapons at the moment. As the Nation grows, they
will develop their own weapons, and I will display them

In 2050, the Giotan Government helped start a program to get
jobs in the new nation while the revolution was still being
fought, although it was clear that the rebels were going to win.
This program would also help arm the nation better, and it
became known as the Giotan Military Weapons Corporation (GMWC).
By early 2051, the newly developed weapons were making their way
onto the front lines in the final push to eliminate the National
Police in Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince.

In the 2052, the Revolution was over, and the rebels were
victorious. They reunited the island of Hispaniola, and
established a democracy, and voted Robert Ender as the first
President of Giotan. After 2052, the rag-tag Giotan Army were
allocated funds, and were equipped with new uniforms, training
and tactics, and new weaponry, courtesy of Giotan Military
Weapon Corporation. Most of the Army was equipped with these,
but a few units were still equipped with M-16s and M-4s. The
army also added new helmets, which add protection to the back of
the neck and the ears of the soldier, due to many injuries
during the revolution from fragments that came behind the
soldier.
The GMWC-6CS is Giotan's premier combat shotgun. This
pump-action shotgun is essential in urban fighting, and can hold
12 rounds. It can be armed with buckshot, a tighter cluster of
pellets that has a longer range, scattershot, a loose cluster of
pellets with short range, or incendiary rounds, which contain
tiny pellets of white phosphorus, which burns skin. The GMWC-3A
is the Army's best Assault/Suppression Rifle. Capable of firing
1100 rounds per minute in full auto, the GMWC-3A is able to also
go into semi-auto mode, and act like an assault rifle, with more
precision. The GMWC-6R is the best Assault Rifle in the army.
Capable of firing 700 rounds per minute, it can hold up to 30
rounds in one clip. Semi-automatic, it is best used by good
shots, rather than sprayers and prayers. The GMWC-12S is
reserved for the best shots in the army. It is capable of firing
a round up to 1800 meters away (a little more than a mile)
although some soldiers report hits up to 2000 meters. It holds a
12 round clip and is semi-automatic.

In 2053 The Giotan Air Force Commander brought attention to the
fact that the Nation currently has no fighter aircraft, or any
fixed wing aircraft, in its arsenal. The task fell to the GMWC
to create a muiltirole fighter aircraft to protect Giotan
Airspace. After two failed trial designs, the Military became
doubtful that a valid design would surface. But the third
design, known as XFAS-3, was an extremely capable fighter
aircraft and was a good light bomber as well. Named the FAS-3
Quake, the first fighters were sent to the West Coast of Giotan,
where Cuba was starting to show signs of aggression.

While developing the FAS-3 Quake, the GMWC built a new attack
helicopter for Giotan. Based off of the Cobra attack helicopter,
the ASH-2 Devastator is Giotan's Premire Attack Helicopter built
in late 2053 and delivered in 2054. Armed with a 20mm chain gun
and a 20mm grenade launcher that follows the pilots helmet in
the chin, the gunner can identify targets, display them on the
pilots HUD, and could fire on them with 4 HATM-2 Anti-Tank
Missiles or 24 HEIM-3 Unguided Missiles.
