Moving Images in your PW posts (How-To)

This briefing is for anyone who wants to make moving pics within
their forum posts here on PW.
On the toolbar where we compose posts, there is a "M" with an
arrow button. That activates the [code][move][/code] and
[code][/move][/code] tags in BBCode. Insert your
[code][img][/code] and [code][/img][/code] tags with the picture
URLs between the move tags and voila! Your stuff moves across
the screen from right to left.
The code would look like this:
       [code][move][img]IMAGE URL[/img][img]NEXT
       IMAGE[/img][/move][/code]
       [move]EXAMPLE[img]

       [move]EXAMPLE
       #2[img]

See a webpage version of Marquee here:

  HTML http://gear1.drupalgardens.com/content/military-move
The string must be continuous (no spaces or hitting Enter
between inserting image tags. That would mess up how the moving
"marquee" is displayed. In HTML (webpages, not forum posts) the
language command is <marquee> and </marquee> and you use <>
       instead of &#91;].
       <marquee valign="bottom"><img src="URL" /><img src="URL2"
       /></marquee>
For long continuous things like trains, this works well. If you
want gaps of space between moving images, you need to use a
blank placeholder image (white or transparent) that fits between
your images. I have a 50-pixel wide spacer image hosted in my
image gallery and I insert as many as I need to make the gaps.
Most of my stuff travels with a white background because I save
my images in PNG like we upload to JG/NS etc. However, I have
been converting some to transparent GIF format to remove the
white background and let the forum page background color
through. Plus, I use a piece of freeware called Beneton Movie
GIF to make the animated ones (police cars and locomotives with
       the "flashing ditch lights").
Hope that you find this information helpful. Message me if you
       need help!

PS - I am a digital marketing/CRM software and inventory control
software consultant to the auto industry. I taught myself how to
code in HTML/BBCode for my job and doing webpage/HTML rich
e-mail designs. Forums (BBCode) must have the move command
enabled for posts to use it. I don't know about JG but
NationStates does not have move enabled in its forums, so any
moving pictures have to be on a webpage and linked to the post.
