An Tús (The Beginning)

In Nósparatis' great library there is a section off limits to
all outsiders, hidden behind a bookcase, a section known only as
"Before Time" however a Thelmorian researcher stumbled on to
this section once and began to read the ancient scrolls.
Hundreds of thousands of years ago before the passage of time
was even recorded the Demon Fuil Agus Anamacha (Demon of Blood
and Souls) took half of his awesome power divided that half
equally into 10 beings of great power.
Making all of them Immortal but in order to keep their other
powers they had to consume the blood and souls of mortals, then
known as Incolae this was before they split into Humans, Elves
and Dwarfs, this is why Vampires can feed on all three.
Before he left our world for the last time he named his children
Cogadh, Malleolus, Klimek, Vullmar, Gézark, Drasgón, Dubh,
Ghrian, Fuisce and Fuil Agus
For thousands of years they watched, terrorized and fed on
thousands of Incolae they saw Elves leave first and follow an
almost religion studying magic. The Elves would split again some
enjoyed fire more than the other forms of magic, these Elves
became dark in appearance and built up a natural resistance to
fire
Some Elves took to the forests and learnt to use their magical
abilities to manipulate nature and the forest creatures
Some stayed their original course and mastered complicated
spells and became powerful mages for good or ill
A small group refused to accept magic so they called themselves
"Orc's" and went off into the mountains and were never seen
again for thousands of years
A final faction liked magic but they also liked the traditional
weapons they look almost human except for the pointy ears and
bright green eyes, for some reason they call themselves "Blood
Elves"
About 900 years after the Elves split from the Incolae a group
of miners started to dig into mountains they would dig for days
motivated by pure greed. It soon got to the point where they
would stay underground hardly ever seeing the light of day,
sometime after that they got the name Dwarfs it is unclear if
that was a title given to them or if they bestowed it upon
themselves.
So it was that the last of the Incolae left living in the
traditional way continued to look like their ancestors for many
years eventually the name Incolae was changed to Human, none now
remember where they originally came from, as far as they know
they have always been different races.

The first to make a stand against the Vampires were the Elves an
alliance of High Elf mages, Night Elf (Dark Elves) Pyromancers
and Blood Elves. Altogether they numbered around 10,000 but the
vast majority were inexperienced Blood Elves.
The Vampires had an army of thralls (mortals they hard turned)
they numbered around 4,500. The Vampires had a huge fortress
with 82 feet (25 meter) hall walls and 3 levels all constructed
into the mountain side. It took about 150 years to build the
Vampires enslaved mortals to build it for them once they could
no longer work due to injury they became food. Those who
survived to the completion of the mighty fortress were allowed
to leave and go back to their families.
The Elves knew the only way to draw the Vampires out of their
fortress was to challenge them at night, so they set out at
midnight knowing it would take them hours to reach the fortress.
They arrived with only 3 hours till dawn.
The Pure Bloods knew they could defeat the 'army' from the
safety of their walls, but they were Vampires, they were the
apex predators and it was time the mortals learned their place
again as the cattle, the prey.
The massive wooden doors slowly opened and the 4,500 turned
Vampires marched out the Elven army may have been mostly
inexperienced however the Pure Bloods only turned the strongest
and most experienced Warriors with the lure of immortality.
The Blood Elves charged forwards, the front rank of Vampires
raised their shields and defended the second rank thrust their
long spear through the gaps and into the first line of Elves a
hard twist to the right and pulled back out and the first line
fell.
The Elves backed off a step and the front rank on the Vampires
thrust their swords forwards into the now front line of Elves a
few managed to block but the inexperience was showing very
clearly when suddenly there was a loud almost duck call and the
Blood Elves separated and a barrage of fire balls came between
them. The shields of the front rank began to glow red with the
heat then bright orange, eventually the front rank had to drop
their shields. That's when the Blood Elves charged in and the
bloody battle commenced.
The Night Elves were focusing all their magical energy to launch
another volley of fireballs when 2 arrows came in at high speed
and hit 2 through the throat, they looked out onto the
battlefield to see if there were any archers that were not
engaged in the battle when suddenly 2 more arrows came flying in
and put 2 more Night Elves down.
Standing on the roof of the top level of the fortress Drasgón
and Ghrian were taking very careful aim with their long bows,
they saw their targets and aimed up so as the arrow was on it's
downward trajectory it would hit it's target, they drew their
arrows back and released they watched the small gathering of
Night Elves and saw 2 more fall, they then repeated the process.
The battle lasted for almost 2 grueling hours and all the turned
Vampires were dead however only 784 Elves were left, the Elves
regrouped and stood outside the fortress waiting for Pure Bloods
they were worried because dawn was fast approaching but they
knew that if they could lure them out and catch them on the
morning sun their problems would be over.
The massive doors slowly creaked open and Cogadh slowly walked
out holding his dual swords he was wearing shorts but no top to
increase his speed, his slow ominous walk and his unblinking
stare unnerved the Elves when suddenly the sunlight burst over
the mountain range and shone down on them, Cogadh screamed and
fell to the floor, the Elves slowly began to cheer when suddenly
they heard a small laugh come from Cogadh's body slowly he
lifted himself up to his knees still laughing, once on his knees
his laughed turned into an almost uncontrollable evil laugh
"Sorry but us Pure Bloods do not share the weaknesses of those
we turn, sunlight has no effect on us" he said as he got back up
to his feet seeing the Elves spirits crushed.
Cogadh ran towards the Elves, the Elves took a few steps back
shocked at his speed and courage, with a single jump he landed
behind the second line and slashed up both sides slicing 2 Elves
in half from the crotch up then spinning round 360 degrees and
took the heads off the Elves closes to him and landed again and
stood in the Scorpion stance. The Elves moves back quickly
almost pissing themselves, in less than 4 seconds this Vampire
had killed 12 Elves and was now stood there daring them to
attack.
When the Elves looked behind Cogadh they saw another 7 of the
Pure Bloods walking towards them when 2 more arrows High Elf
healers at the back fell with arrows through the throat.
Vullmar and Dubh stood either side of Cogadh and Gézark with
their swords and shields either side of them stood Klimek and
Fuil Agus with their spears on each end of the line stood
Malleolus and Fuisce Malleolus with his Warhammer and Fuisce
with his long Greatsword.
Cogadh turned and walked back towards the fortress and Dubh
stood in his spot and turned around, Cogadh then ran for Dubh,
Dubh crouched and Cogadh jumped onto his shield and as Cogadh
jumped off his shield Dubh pushed and stood up. Executing a
perfect double forward flip Cogadh landed in the middle of all
the Elves bringing his swords down and slicing 2 of them in half
as he landed.
There was utter confusion in the Elven ranks with blood spraying
as high as 8 feet (2.4 meters) into the air
Gézark ran back towards the fortress and ran back and also
jumped off Dubh's shield landed not far from Cogadh.
Over half of the Elves scattered and ran for their lives the
rest ran forwards and were killed by Dubh, Vullmar, Malleolus or
Fuisce, sliced apart by Cogadh or Gézark or hit with an arrow
curtsy of Drasgón or Ghrian.
After the battle the Pure Blood stayed for a few hundred more
years then moved on, the fortress still stands though these days
it's in really bad shape, it can be found in the mountain ranges
of Thelmoria.

I know it's Helms Deep from Lord of the Rings but it's closest
to what I was thinking of
