       Empire Background: The Collective is an extra dimensional race.
       They do not have a true physical form in the known Galaxy. They
       have certain technologies that give them a form to work within
       this dimension and to create ships to move their equipment from
       place to place. They feed on the life force of other items be
       they plant, animal or sentient. By mere contact with another
       life force they immediately start the drain. The victim appears
       to age at an unbelievable rate. This means the choicest meals
       come from the youngest sources.
