Patagonian Naval Forces begin their annual training exercise
"Broad Sweep '13". This year's exercise will be one of the
biggest with full activation of reserve forces to complement
their active counterparts. The drill is expected to last three
months.
Local media reports large scale movement of heavy military
equipment and troops by train during the night into Brazalia
around the Childaren border. Civilians report military
deployment of heavy equipment into the wilderness around cities
in Northern Patagonia. Military analysts having reviewed
photographs and determined them to be THAD or theater air
defense systems. Cities in Northern Patagonia have been placed
under curfew and local security and militia forces have stepped
up their presence. All citizens are required to travel with
identification papers and random checkpoints have been set up in
the cities and along the major interstate routes.
A NOTAR or notice to airman has been posted restricting air
flights to the eastern seaboard only. No air traffic is allowed
into or out of the North western areas of Patagonia. The
Government apologizes for the delays this may cause. However the
high speed rail system is running on time.
A large firefight occurred along the Childaren border as drug
lords attempted to infiltrate into Patagonia. The drug lords
were using military grade weapons including antitank weapons.
Recovery in the Dependency of the Falklands is near complete.
The citizens praise the government for its quick response and
its assistance in getting the states economy up and running
again.

The Patagonian Department of Transportation is celebrating its
100th year of service! It has many achievements to be proud of,
such as placing all rail and intercity travel underground where
exhaust fumes can be scrubbed before release into the
atmosphere! With the requirement for vehicles to switch to
hydrogen cells or natural gas pollution and reliance on foreign
oil imports have dropped drastically.

The Air Forces of Childaren and Ecuadicia entered Patagonian
airspace today on what can only be called a prelude to full war.
Multiple squadrons of the small F-89F Jets and Zapata attack
aircraft as well as Ecuadician Besoro fighter jets and Irritar
light bombers were spotted and identified on civilian ATC
radars. The Patagonia response was harsh as multitudes of
missiles were launched and the new THAL lasers cut through the
enemy air forces. Patagonian FS-21's and F-34's then engaged the
aircraft in a very lopsided attack. The Patagonian lost 8 FS-21
Jets and 2 F-34 Jets before the enemy aircraft were forced to
turn back without dropping any ordinance.
Patagonia has updated its alert status to Yellow One and ordered
a mobilization of tier two reservists.
Late this evening Patagonian theater ballistic missiles with
vacuum warheads were launched against ALL identified airports
and airstrips in Childeran and Ecuadicia. The Patagonian
government asks that foreign civilians leave the countries
immediately and that foreign diplomats act prudently as well.
Casualty reports from the two countries have already passed
2,672 and are expected to climb even though the attacks were
carried out during the early morning hours to reduce the
civilian casualties.
