The IIB had the military assign two seaplanes and an airship to
trail the merchant ship. Meanwhile, vehicles were assigned to
tail all the vehicles leaving the lower floor. Agents took
photographs of anybody seen coming or going from the factory.
Daily, overflights were made with FLIR to keep track of security
and people and to plug any holes in the map they had built up.
The telephone taps turned up a very important bit of news during
the second week the name Joka came up. The criminal syndicate
trafficking humans and suspected of piracy and weapons
smuggling. Agent Van Chi made a call to the Nyekundu secret
services office and read them in on the data.
The trails led to two more warehouses and fourteen illegal
institutions, photographs of everyone entering and leaving from
these locations were taken and those people received tails until
they were identified as "customers" or employees. During the
third week this led to a money laundering network in the capital
city. The Agency of taxation, tariffs and tithes took over that
specific investigation with meetings every other day with Agent
       Van Chi.
The merchant ship made port of call in four countries,
operatives in those countries followed the women to the local
distribution point and from there out to multiple illegal
institutions. All of these area were placed under observation.
Now photographs were beginning to match other known actors in
the Joka syndicate and Nyekundu was again notified of the
increasing evidence that Joka had long reach and deep pockets.
By the end of the month a mountain of evidence crossing seven
countries involving 800 major criminals and 1,000's of minor
criminals had been gathered as well as the location of hundreds
of females who had been trafficked.

       The Ada Straits
After the Tsunami had passed the Task force put into port in
East Chetumal for repairs and liberty. The seaplanes were all
aboard their tender and the airships had returned to the RQH, as
their on station relief had arrived. Somehow the LNG tanker that
was hijacked had given them the slip. It could be in any port in
Surabaya by this time. As soon as needed repairs are completed
the task force will return to hunting the elusive pirates.

       Houdan Island, Nationalist Chengdu
The RQH Fleets had returned for the most part back to regular
patrol duty. However the entire 1st Marine division and its air
wing had stayed behind. As supply ships from the RQH arrived
they helped rebuild the islands infrastructure while building
their own base. The base was built into the side of a mountain
with heavily reinforced concrete supports and entryways. The
flightline was actually inside the mountain and only the last
100' were outside of the mountain. Several freighters delivered
SAM missiles and SS-N-2 SSM's as well as ballistic missiles
housed in a reinforced subterranean launch site. The RQH air
force arranged a rotation of bombers on six month deployments to
the island as well. A small naval port built to withstand the
crushing winter ice was also built for RQH ships to resupply.

       Ada Straits
Within an hour of taking off in his FP-110 LT Chin spotted a
suspicious fishing vessel with "go-boats" on deck under fishing
nets. He took several pictures and radioed the aerostat its
       coordinates and direction of travel.
It took the Aerostat just over an hour to make an intercept at
over 9,500' altitude they used high powered glasses, cameras,
FLIR and electronic systems to track the vessels on the oceans
surface. An hour later they photographed the unloading of the
go-boats, while the classified electronics showed two possible
targets a bulk cargo merchant ship and an oil tanker. They
radioed the APA and Four FAC's were dispatched.
Aboard the Fast Attack Craft 1406 Chief Nguen ordered his men to
warm up the weapons systems and for the Marine boarding team to
stand by. The medium sized boat bounced from wave to wave in a
jarring ride as it raced towards the go-boats showing on the
surface radar. the twin 76mm rapid fire cannons turned to
starboard as the FAC turned to port. Four rounds over the bow of
two go-boats brought them to a stop a third one turned about
hard kicking up a massive rooster tail and speeding away. Chief
Nguen cleared the crew to destroy the target. Within seconds
several proximity rounds detonated over the go-boat sending
shrapnel bursting through it and its crew before the fuel
detonated and the go-boats settled into the water stern down and
       burning.
The other FAC rounded up the two surviving go-boats under the
watchful eyes of the Marines. With the ships loosely secured
together the marines boarded them. Ordering the four men crews
to the center of the boats on their knees, hands behind their
heads. The marines quickly searched them turning up several
knives and pistols. The crews were handcuffed and placed under
guard of one marine as the others started taking the two boats
apart looking for anything suspicious. Within minutes several
light machineguns and rocket propelled grenades were recovered.
Photographs were taken and papers and documents were collected.
Finally the two boats were scuttled with explosive charges.
The other two FACs went after the large fishing vessel flying
the Surabayan flag. The ship was hailed and ordered to heave to
and prepare to be boarded for a routine inspection. The response
was quick as several RPG's were fired from the ship one of them
striking the bridge of the number two FAC causing several
casualties and a fire on the bridge. Machine gun fire sent
sprays of water into the air. Within seconds a small missile
left the number one FAC zooming along the water before climbing
and diving into the side of the fishing ship at the waterline.
The explosion rocked the fishing vessel hard to the side metal
was sent flying and then water started flooding the ship.
The remaining FAC raced up alongside the ship and maintained
pace with it as marines climbed fishing nets up the side of the
ship. A 7.62mm minigun kept the crew away from the edge of the
deck until the marines reached the top. Once up the marines
dropped targets with extreme prejudice. One marine was hit in
the arm from someone on the bridge wing. A grenade into the wing
stopped the fire from the bridge. Having swept the deck the
marines divided into two teams one headed for the bridge the
       other the engine room.
Team B moved quickly into the ship clearing corridors and rooms
killing several more people onboard. As they got deeper into the
ship they had to don SCBA masks that provided them 30 minutes of
fresh air in the smoke filled corridors. Finally they started
back the way they came quickly photographing and collecting
anything suspicious including large quantities of illegally
manufactured drugs and an arsenal of weapons. In the forward
compartments were cages similar to jail cells. For the moment
they were empty but manacles were visible as well as equipment
for torture, more photographs were taken. On their way out they
       killed two more "fishermen".
Team A moved up to the bridge clearing the galley and senior
mates or officers quarters and important work stations. They
killed most everybody but snatched up several prisoners. Once on
the bridge after a quick grenade fight they captured the wounded
captain. By this time the ship was listing hard to port and the
ocean was lapping at the gunnels. Both teams quickly boarded the
FAC with assistance from the crew. The FAC backed off and fired
76mm HE rounds into the hull sending it to the bottom of the Ada
Straits. Markings were made on the navigational charts.
The second FAC went to work quickly putting out the fires with
fire extinguishers. The bridge was destroyed and two crewmen
were killed. Two others had moderate injuries that were quickly
tended to. When the number one boat was finished with the
fishing ship they came alongside and rigged a tow rope, towing
the FAC back to the APA.
At the APA the wounded were transferred to the medical
department, the prisoners were taken to the brig. The damaged
FAC was brought aboard the ship, where repair crews got to work
repairing the damage. The process of gathering intelligence is
an art that Que Huong had mastered thousands of years ago.
Things started simple, sensory deprivation and loneliness
combined with no food or water. Then one by one they were
brought into a dark room under a single bright light where a
trained psychologist asked questions of the men. The stories
were all compared as was the psych profiles gathered. The hard
cases were moved straight to the oriental water board. The
weaker cases were given the sympathy route mixed with good guy /
bad guy. The weak ones who had little hard information still
provided the location of the base and the number of ships
       operating with the pirates.
After a day on the board the hard cases were not asked
questions, simply taken to a different room and beaten
senseless, during this time they received IV fluids. Once they
came too it was back to the board for a day then they were taken
back to the room and their nails, finger and toes were removed,
this was followed by the breaking of each the phalanges of all
four extremities. These were then rolled flat in a press.
Information was provided with no questions asked. This allowed a
lot of random data to be gathered that might provide further
leads which would be missed with targeted questioning. On the
fifth day the psychiatrist sit with the men who were broken in
many ways. Once again he asked seemingly random questions and
       the groups was separated again.
Those that were softened up were treated kindly and given aid
while more unasked information flowed. The hard cases graduated
to the next level, knives, electricity and drugs as well as
continued sensory deprivation (time, sound, sight). Some lasted
only minutes as men treasure certain things. the last one broke
that evening dribbling all kinds of data, all recorded. All of
the pirates received a lethal injection and their bodies
processed out the ships garbage disposal unit.
Intelligence analysts now had a plethora of data to sort
through, some of it was quick to highlight. The connections to
the Joka, Missing ships, ransoms paid and crews killed. Others
were not so easy to place, it was obvious several attacks of a
large scale were in progress, but against whom and with what? It
was also clear that this was a huge criminal syndicate human
trafficking, gun smuggling, piracy, black marketeering the list
       was huge.

In response to ongoing economic turbulence, the RQH is raising
taxes on goods imported into the country. At the same time
decreasing taxes on locally manufactured goods.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Off the Coast of Surabaya
       0300 hours RQH local time
Ten LVTP-2's and two LVTP-2B swam through the water the night
time waves gently rocking them as they approached the beach of
the small city of Manawhita. One mile away Several rubber
raiding boats motored into the harbor's entrance dropping off
divers. From the south of the city fifteen UH-20 helicopters
were landing deploying marine raiders and WA-20 armored cars as
       well as towed artillery.
As the LVTPs started to crawl out of the water. The night
erupted into brightness, as the two destroyers commenced firing
onto pre selected targets in the city. In the harbor mines
planted by the divers exploded blasting gaping holes into dozens
of ships, in flames they settled onto the harbor bottom. South
of the city the 105mm Artillery spewed round after round into
the local military garrison a mix of altitude detonated HE and
       hydrogen cyanide.
From the LVTPs 350 marines in chemical warfare gear swarmed out.
Followed by the carriers they moved into the cities barrio
sector and started rounding people up. When ever someone put up
a fight the 155mm cannon from the LVTP-2B leveled the entire
       building.
Radars on the ships at sea detected fast movers in bound and the
combat air patrol was directed to intercept, ten F-7Bs and four
F-5Bs headed to the south west on an intercept course.
Surabaya's jets were roaring in at 0.8 MACH their radars
detected the inbound aircraft fourteen to four they banked hard
and radioed the report to base. Across the country a complete
alert went out and the countries military began standing too.
After some vicious and hard questions backed with threats of
violence and plenty of violence their targets were selected.
Supporters of Joka and pirates they were all hung in the streets
after their bodies were ritually mutilated. The "important"
prisoners were loaded into the LVTP's, then they headed for the
       beach.
In the south, a relief column from Surabaya's 1st Armor was
racing to the burning city. A mixture of six wheeled armored
cars and medium tanks. From the plains bursts of flames flashed
as dozens of ATGM's streaked towards the column, 90mm guns
opened fire as well as 106mm recoilless rifles spewed their
rounds at the column. Machinegun and autocannon rounds were
fired in return. This was interrupted by 105mm rounds, 120mm
mortars and 80mm mortars crashing white phosphorous rounds into
the column. Panic started to spread in the enemy ranks as Four
AH-1s ran down the column blasting vehicles with rockets and
       autocannon fire.
The Marine raiders disengaged from the the relief column and
fell back to the LZ and the awaiting helicopters. The equipment
was quickly being loaded as overhead the roar of dozens of
aircraft could be heard and the area of the relief column was
illuminated by napalm. The raiders now fully loaded into their
helicopters flew around the city and out to sea.
The radars now showed a significant force inbound approximately
twenty jets a good portion of the Surabayan air force. The RQH
Navy jets circled the LPD's and their escorts then set out to
attack 36 aircraft, mainly F-5B's and F-7B's. As their radars
locked on they fired their AAM-6 missiles. Then they split into
separate formations attempting to move into positions of
attack. The enemy aircraft maneuvered as well... right after
they fired. Chaff was popping all over the sky as jets went into
scissors, immelmans, and steep climbing banks. Missiles struck
aircraft from both sides sending flaming aircraft into the
ground and occasionally parachutes opening lowering lucky pilots
to the earth. Now short range AAM-4 missiles and cannons were
being used as more aircraft plummeted to earth. Several aircraft
broke and ran trailing smoke or flames. More parachutes bloomed.
In the city below the places where aircraft had crashed to earth
burned fiercely. Finally the skies were cleared of Surabayan
aircraft but the RQH had taken some heavy losses as well
fourteen aircraft had been shot down and four had limped back to
the fleet. Now the combat rescue helicopters were picking up
       pilots.
The raiding force to the south had lost four WA-20's and 22 KIA
and 45 WIA, the beach landing team had taken a lot of RPG hits
but succeeded in returning with only damage to their vehicles
and 13 KIA and 50 WIA. The divers were unmolested. On the other
hand the major pirate base of operations was eliminated. The
ships used to participate in the piracy and the port facilities
were destroyed. Several hostages were rescued. They captured
       several important prisoners.
