Káhziča
Officially; The Free State of Káhziča
Subjugated for centuries by the Moriskovians, the Káhzičans
have only just declared their independence, while the majority
of Moriskovian forces have been driven out, there are still
pockets of Moriskov troops. A mountain dwelling people, the
Káhzičans have long held their personal independence as
paramount. This is reflected in the politics of the new
Káhzičan state. The government, while being fiercely
nationalistic and political position in the Provisional
government restricted to the National Káhzičan Liberation
Front (the political arm of the NOAK), the government has
immediately passed multiple laws guaranteeing individual and
economic liberty. While there is a functioning provisional
government, and most of the nation is under the control of the
NOAK, the fighting still continues. There are still Moriskovian
forces in Káhziča, and ethnic Moriskovians and Communists
are forming their militias in an attempt to counter the
revolution.
Government Type: Democracy (+1 Population/-1 Resilience)
Leader: Karek Horaček

- Background: Born on in a small village south of the
capital, his father was a tanner and his mother worked in the
local store. Growing up in a troubled land, under foreign rule,
Karek was radicalised from an early age. His father had been
involved in the 3rd Káhziča War (1911-5), which the
independence forces lost. In 1936 he became an active member of
the Národního Osvobozenecké Armády Káhziča (National
Káhziča Liberation Army), NOAK. After most of the
leadership was killed or arrested in the Beer Hall Siege of
1947, Karek assumed command of the NOAK and began the 4th
Káhziča War.

National Káhzičan Liberation Army
Being the youngest state in the world, Káhziča does not yet
have a formal military. Instead, its defence is provided by the
Národního Osvobozenecké Armády Káhziča (National
Káhzičan Liberation Army), or NOAK. The NOAK is comprised,
largely, of young men and women, between the ages of 20 and 40,
however, many of the commanders and the upper cadre of the force
are of considerable age. Before 1947, the NOAK has no formal
organisation, instead, it was a collection of local militia
groups. Upon assuming command of the NOAK, Karek Horaček
began to turn the collection of militia into an organised
fighting force.
Each of the countries provinces became a military district, or
“Command”. Each town militia within a command was required to
increase their numbers to a 140 man company, if there was more
than one company's worth of men, the town militia was required
to form at least one other company and they became a battalion.
Most cities have several battalions of three or four companies
each. All NOAK forces operate as light infantry/guerilla
fighters, however, in the recent fighting some companies have
been able to capture some Moskovian tanks and other armoured
vehicles.
Individual weapons, while not standardized, are taken from a
fairly limited selection. The lack of any weapons being imported
into Káhziča under Moriskovian occupation required the the
NOAK to rely on artisan gunsmiths to produce a series of
weapons. Currently, most soldiers are armed with a
semi-automatic rifle. Some still carry bolt-action rifles, and
sub machine guns but these are fading from popularity, there
also exists one design of light machine gun. All other weapons,
are those that have been looted from defeated Moriskovian
forces, this includes all heavy and support weapons, including;
anti-tank rockets and guns, heavy machine guns, flame throwers,
mortars and other artillery.

A week after the initial withdrawal of Moriskovian troops, heavy
fighting continues parts of Káhziča. Moriskovian forces
left behind in the city of Dasíce, have put up stiff resistance
against the revolutionary forces. Anti-aircraft fire can often
be heard throughout the day, and tracers light up the night,
fighting back the Moriskovian Air Force. Interim Minister of
Defence and Chief of the Liptovský Command, Lukáš Cyrill, has
told KT: ‘Despite the stiff resistance, I am certain that we
will be able to liberate the city within the next week. While
they have armoured vehicles, we are much more mobile and have
captured several enemy artillery pieces that will soon be
employed against them.’
Meanwhile, in the city of Púchov, ethnic Moriskovian and
Communist militias have seized control of large parts of the
city in what the Provisional Government has described as; a
“counter-revolution” that must be suppressed at all costs. This
uprising comes off the back of allegations that revolutionary
militias have expelled ethnic Moriskovians from other parts of
Kublin district.

Refugees from the Democratic Socialist country of Grenetarian
have been spotted 52 miles off your coast in a “floatilla” of
1,500 to 2,000 vessels of questionable seaworthiness. There is
an estimated 150,000 to 200,000 refugees in varying states of
health. The Floatilla covers dozens of square miles of ocean.
Weather conditions are expected to deteriorate over the next ten
hours…

'Why the fuck are they fleeing from a stable nation into a war
torn one? Surely Grenetar isn't that bad?' the Minister for
Foreign Affairs, Mikoláš Kašpar whined. 'I just can't bloody
well fathom it.'
'It does not matter why they are coming Mikoláš, what matters is
what we will do with them once they arrive.' President Karek
replied, extinguishing the bud of his cigarette in the ash tray.
'Evžen, this falls under your department.' The president said,
looking over to the young man in officers dress, the interim
Minister of the Interior.
'W-well,' he stammered, before clearing his throat, 'we already
have thousands of refugees in camps from the western parts of
the country. We could intern these new arrivals with the others;
erect a fence around the new camp, maybe not have it too close,
a few miles away, I could guaranteeing it will grow if these
estimates are correct...' he continued to mumble on about
figures at some length, before finally concluding with 'Oh, and
feeding them shouldn't prove to be a problem, not with all this
free grain coming in from Freedonia.'
'Very good idea Evžen. As soon as they are able, start finding
them new countries to be resettled in. They are not staying
here.' The President said as an aid walked in and whispered in
his ear. 'Okay gentlemen, that will have to do, Lukáš is on the
phone with a report from the front." He said standing, before
lighting another cigarette and dismissing the interim cabinet
with a wave of his hand.'

Fighting continues in the cities of Púchov and Dasíce. This
burning tank on the outskirts of Púchov, a reminder to the
revolutionary forces that victory in this increasingly brutal
conflict, is not assured. As tanks captured by the
revolutionaries in Kublin province moved into the suburbs, they
were met by anti-tank rockets and home-made fire bombs. The
assault against the city, now mostly occupied by ethnic
Moriskovian and Communist militias, was not stopped however, and
the battle still rages as the Káhzičan forces attempt to
reach their surrounded comrades that still hold key strategic
areas of the city.
Two days ago, the ethnic Moriskovian majority in Púchov took up
arms against the revolutionaries, out of fear they would be
expelled from the infant state. They were soon joined by
Káhzičan communists who oppose Independence. Together, they
were able to take control of most of the city, with the
exception of several police stations (being used as barracks by
the NOAK), and other key buildings guarded by the revolutionary
forces. A counter attack was launched early this morning, in the
form of light shelling, followed by an attack by infantry and
tanks. Currently, the hostile militias control the majority of
the city, and the leaders of Kublin command are acting cautious,
so to not to risk the destruction of the historic city.

Nyekundu stands ready to deliver Task Force 3 to Káhziča to
protect shores and ports while needed aid is delivered. The

the communist scum.

While we are thankful for your offer, we feel that the
protection of aid deliveries is unnecessary, as none of the
major ports are threatened. Further more, we are certain that we
will be able to suppress the counter-revolution without outside
help.
