Watowzi Abu listened to his advisor's, three hours of discussion
about steel was enough to make even that Acadian man Carnegie go
mad. At the table were the scientists responsible for the
discovery, representatives from Denel Industries, economics
advisers, foreign affairs advisor's, and even military generals!
All this over some half-assed steel, Abu thought.
"Gentlemen," he interrupted the heated discussion at the table
and everyone grew silent quickly, "It is my understanding that
this is not the same material we use in our weapons or tanks,or
even ships. It is half the quality and we can not allow that,
especially in our times of need. We also can not allow such an
economic boost to our country go to waste. We make $120 Billion
a month right now, imagine making $200 Billion a month! We have
the capacity to build the steel plants and set up auto mobile
shops, existing companies making tools for export and non
essentials can double their production easily." The room was
silent but the tense air had been cut finally as everyone
listened intently. They also did when money was involved, Abu
thought.
"We can get several of the old steel mills running again in just
two months, but it will cost near $15 million to get them
running and staffed. Vehicle plants are easy, we can build
several of them in just 4 months and convert one of the
factories making trucks into a car plant in just a month or so.
The total cost of conversion would be about $40 million and each
new car plant would cost around $100 million." The economic
advisor fed the numbers to the crew at the table. "I think two
plants would suffice at 4,000 cars a month between them. By the
end of the year we could be making that many cars an hour!"
"Excellent, we shall begin immediately. I want the BOS steel
patented and operations moving at double time." The Abu smiled
as he lit up another cigar.

NBC News Report
The local authorities have begun a massive undertaking
investigating the numerous missing persons reports in the
western Raasi of Mashariki. Sources claim that over three
hundred people have gone missing from this region in just the
last six months. Many locals are claiming that Surybayan slavers
are kidnapping these people from their homes and then selling
them to the slave nation of Criteria. Many in the Raasi are
hoping that the IAGA resolution 01/06 passes. If this happens a
large scale blockade and searching of all ships may very well
turn up the Nyekundu citizens.
In other news color televisions have seen a dramatic drop in
price due largely to improvements in technology and access to
resources. The Nyekundu Broadcasting Corporation has announced
that the first color image television show will be The Divorce
starring real life couple Benthi and Aodi Nkwini and their two
children in a situational comedy. The show is set to air next
Monday at 5 pm.
Medical researchers at the National Institute of Health have
announced the successful trial of an oral Polio vaccine. The
test was done on 20 male children ages 3 through 12 and resulted
in no ill effects. Researchers are still refining the vaccine as
it does not guarantee immunity yet. Researchers project that a
final oral vaccine should be ready for wide scale distribution
in three to five years.

Leaked photographs have made their way around the world this
morning supposedly depicting a new tank model without its turret
that Denel Industries is said to be working on. There has been
no word as to who took the photographs or why. The Watowzi has
yet to make an official announcement yet but we are sure there
will be some announcement. The photograph appears to have been
taken at the Enkolo Testing Grounds where military equipment is
put through strenuous trials by Denel. Word has it that Denel
Industries will be working closely with a yet to be named
Freedonian based research group. We can only interppret this to
mean more advanced weapons systems to come.

In other news work has begun on the the new aircraft carrier
being laid down at the Denel National Shipyard. Costing over $50
million dollars for the ship alone, work is expected to carry on
through the year and into next year. This comes almost
immediately after Denel announced that they would be laying the
keel for four nuclear submarines and ten destroyers. Work is
also starting in Talamh Baile on ten missile cruisers this
month. Final reports indicate a completion rate of 3 ships a
month.

Globally known entrepreneur Gilliam "Gill" Bates of AggroTech
calls Denel Industries with a business proposal.
"We are looking to develop something we call Project: Iron
Man..."
He coffs and continues, "Iron Mantle."
He mumbles... "wow, this is some really good smoke..."
He then continues, "We have highly advanced tracked propulsion
systems and experimental weapons systems, but our chassis and
armor still need work. We propose a joint development effort on
the LVT- Amphibious Prototype 7. A yet to be designated medium
tank, and another vehicle we would like to discuss in person.
We merely wish to create operational models for our own forces,
and are willing to sign over production rights to Denel. If you
are interested, so are we."

Denel Industries has reported the highest stocks in its history
with the company single handily accounting for the 10% bump in
Nyekundu's GDP.
The Iron Alliance has come to a controversial resolution to use
the support fund to but slaves from Criteria with the goal or
repatriating them.
Three prominent Criterian citizens have been spotted at a
Nyekundu privately owned safari ranch. Protestors have gathered
with the state placing police in front of the crowd to prevent
personal and property damages.
Denel Industries has recently announced that they are teaming up
with Aggrotech to develope new state of the art armoured
amphibious transports and tanks. It is suspected that the X tank
spotted last week may be a very early stage model of the so
called Iron Mantle project.

To the Prominent Criterion citizens of Nyekundu, please note
that your expenses for a trip back to the homeland has been
payed for and awaits your acceptance.
Later on the Criterion citizens accept the request and arrive
back in Criteria to be repatriated to their motherland.

The Watowzi Abu sat at his desk in the Wakulu, the capitol
building. His uniform was worn and sat loosely on him, the
jacket hanging open. Across from him sat Ji'haba Balbubba, an
emissary from Ain Sallah. Next him was black man, Tito Gambon
the emissary from Surybaya. The Watowzi finished his cigarette
and looked at the two men.
"So are telling me that this is not a secluded event?" The
Watowzi asked.
"Yes, Watowzi," replied Ji'haba, "I know not who is doing this,
but it is no sovereign state. We have even talked to Criteria
who has no records of a Kundu ever being part of the
registries."
"I believe that, it would be bad for business otherwise with
kidnappings. But this does not mean that some would use black
market labour to avoid taxes or paying benefits. What does
Surybaya have to say for themselves?" Abu stated, lighting again
another cigarette and finish his second pack this morning. He
was only 33 but his body looked at least 40, and he felt over
50.
"Surybaya does not know about these events and certainly we do
not endorse or condone the activities. We do not wish conflict
with the mighty Nyekundu nation. We offer open investigation and
full cooperation with the Nyekundu nation, and.." Ji'haba cut
off Gambon as he whined.
"Stop grovelling," he said, "I have been sent here by Surybaya
and the League of Nations, mighty Watowzi. We are wishing for
your country to lead a full investigation into the slave trading
as both of our countries are experiencing this great evil. It is
our belief you are best equipped to deal with this right now,
and the League of Nations finds you most acceptable for your
hard line stance, if somewhat quick, against slavery."
Abu thought for a moment before responding, "The National Home
Office of Investigation will lead this investigation, but" he
punctuated, "We will only burden $1 Billion in the expense. No
more, no less. Also," his face became even more stern as leaned
forward specifically towards Tito, "If it is believed a cover up
is being made or that this investigation is being railroaded or
blocked, it shall be an admission of guilt and Nyekundu will
gladly be the executioner. Further more, all ships bound to
Criteria or any other nation openly using slaves will be
searched thoroughly by Nyekundu security forces stationed in
Surybaya. If Ain Sallah permits, Nyekundu would like to have a
joint operation with the Ain Sallh military to search ships.
Also, if any harm comes to any of my people in your country,"
again the Watwzi looked at Tito, "Then I shall consider it an
attack against me. What say you?"
