Background:
Muunteliis a nation that has recently gone through many
climatic changes and is building a powerful economy. A large
portion of the nation lives in poverty while the economy and
industrial might grows. During the colonizing of the unclaimed
lands the Muunteli people fought off anglo settlers who were
followed by the larger nations. In a sixty year war during the
1800's the Muunteli adopted foreign weapons and were committed
to a guerilla style war. The major powers deemed the region too
hostile and not worth the bloodshed for the few known resources
there. During the turn of the century the Muunteli people used
their victory to unify the tribes across the region and
established a single country. The country slowly built their
selves up while the rest of the world dived into global
conflicts and social changes disrupted progress.
Muunteli was able to avoid any drastic changes due to their
already unified tribes and history. The chiefs ran the provinces
and the Shaad ruled over the tribes. In the 1920's Shaad Usawa
Kuki came to power and began to change the social structure by
first dissolving the tribal rule of the provinces and
establishing a Western style government structure with
Governors, Mayors, and a Baraza (council) for each province to
rule it. In 1938 Shaad Usawa Kuki held the first election of
Muunteli to establish a democratic government. Shaad Usawa ran
for Watowzi (president) and was elected Watowzi. The same year
the Shaad designed the Taifashiri (National Council) which was
formed of 6 people from each province, elected directly by the
people of the province. The Shaad officially stepped down and
became the first Watowzi of Muunteli.
Leader: Watowzi Abu Malakali, Intellectual +1T
Abu Malakali grew up with the transitional government and
watched the democratic process happen in his country. When he
turned 16 he joined the army and gladly served for his nation
for four years before going to college. He showed his promise
when his work on computers was revealed at the National
Improvement Day, a fair held to show all of the countries moves
forward. There the Watowzi Usawa saw this young man’s brilliance
and began bringing him into politics. He was impressed by this
young man’s views of his country and the hope he had for
progress. By age 28 he had graduated from college with a
doctorate in computers and electronics and was already running
for Watowzi, when the election came around when he was 30,
Watowzi Usawa announced his vote would go to Abu for his
promising hopes and dreams for the nation. The country followed
suit with a landslide election going to Abu. The following year
Usawa would die peacefully in his bed with his last words
supposedly being, “I have taught that man everything I could, he
is Nyekundu now.”
Acting now as Watowzi, Abu Malakali is following in his mentors
path and continuing the effort of modernization of Muunteli.
Industry has been placed at the forefront and he works
diligently to cut down the number of imports his country needs.
Large farming projects have also been introduce to convert more
and more land to arable crop lands. Abu, now 33, has three more
years until election and the people love him. With only one
party on the ballot he is expected to run against only two
others for Watowzi, and both people are seen as living in the
past and wanting to hold onto the dying ways of tribal warfare
and ethnic diversity. Abu stresses that Muunteli is one nation
made of many people, but only one identity matters, “We are
Muunteli, Muunteli is US!”

Geography
Muunteli is primarily tropical savannah in the south and
grasslands north of the mountains. The land is fairly flat with
a large mountain ridge dividing the country in the middle. A
large river creates a part of the north western border and
another feeds south from the a large underground freshwater
lake. The rivers swell about ten to twelve feet annually in the
midsummer months creating a fair amount of floodplains for
growing rice. Cattle graze on the large grasslands and many
smaller bodies of water feed off the rivers. The Maji Kiatu, the
river in the north west, is being developed with hydro electric
plants while other factories line the Mlimani Mashu that feeds
from the mountain.

Goals
The long term goal of Muunteli is purely global dominance as a
super power. Communism must also be stamped out from the world
for good.
Muunteli wants to establish a global missile defence system in
order to minimize the threat of unstable and hostile nations
from successfully launching nuclear strikes. A larger naval
force is also to be established to secure Muunteli water
territory. Muunteli wants to open trade relations with numerous
other nations and enter the global playground.
