Following the Aphid invasion a month ago, the AS government has
finally come up with a solution to the problem. Following
round-the-clock research since then, government scientists have
successfully genetically modified large numbers of
Coccinellidae, better known as Ladybugs. The bug is predatory
towards the aphids and the genetic modifications have ensured
that after the aphid swarm has been eliminated, the modified
ladybugs will die off from lack of food, and inability to
reproduce.

Week two event + Local happenings
[move]BREAKING NEWS[/move]
With the Recent discovery of Element 98 in the eastern region of
Moriskov, tensions are only heightened by the refusal to hand
over the developments of the element to force loyal to the
Premier and Gen. Vishkov. Spetsnaz Genreal Vladimir Makarov has
claimed that this discovery 'came from the hard work and
diligence of his people and he would be damned if handed it over
to some weak fool.' Along the eastern region, fortifications
have been set up and the facility has been reinforced with AA
and AT defenses. In other news, the PO have begun doing public
executions of the those that they claimed have committed state
treason, which mainly consist of members of the former People's
Congress. This has caused a large uproar in the population of
Moriskov. Riots have been confirmed in many cities that have a
local PO garrison.

Nuclear physicist Hans Puch was arrested by agents of Rennes
International Security and charged with having provided Acadian
atomic bomb secrets to the Communist Chengdu.
February 4, 1950 (Saturday)
Lt. General Garner testifies in a closed hearing before a joint
congressional committee in Arcadia that, as a result of the
secrets that Dr. Hans Puch had provided to Chengdu, Chengdu has
begun development of an atomic bomb arsenal.
February 6, 1950 (Monday)
The Air Force of the Republic of Chengdu, flying from the island
of Tinwa made a successful bombing raid on the Communist Chengdu
mainland, striking the People's Republic's largest city, Xuanze;
the 17 aircraft, targeted the electrical power plants, shutting
down the electricity in 90% of the city. According to the PRC,
500 people were killed, 600 were injured and 50,000 were left
homeless by the raid.
February 8, 1950 (Wednesday)
The credit card is used for the first time, after loan company
executive John Carter and lawyer William Pin persuaded 14 Big
City restaurants to accept the Billionaire’s card rather than
cash. The 200 Billionaire’s Club members who had cards would be
billed each month by the Club, which would pay the participating
restaurants for the debt incurred. Journalist Tonya Harsh
accompanied Carter and Pin to what is called, in credit card
histories, "The First Supper" (actually, lunch) at Captains’
Cabin Grill, adjacent to the Big Dam Building. At the end of the
meal, Carter handed the waiter a piece of cardboard,
Billionaire’s Club card #1,000 and charged the meal; Pin carried

The SIA sent a report to Acadian President Turner that concluded
that Chengdu would have a stockpile of 100 atomic bombs by the
end of 1953, and 200 by the end of 1955. The Joint Chiefs of
Staff had estimated that Chengdu would have as many as 20
A-bombs by the end of the year, and between 70 and 135 by
mid-1953.
February 19, 1950 (Sunday)
Acadia broke diplomatic relations with Ain Sallah in the first
Acadian withdrawal of representatives since the war. The move
followed Ain Sallah’s refusal to drop espionage charges against
American foreign officer Donnie Fitzgerald. The 12 members of
the Ain Sallah mission in Acadia were ordered to leave, and the
38 Acadian diplomats in Ain Sallah were directed to leave as
soon as possible.
February 21, 1950 (Tuesday)
WOI-TV began broadcasting from studios at State University in
Acadia, becoming the first regular broadcaster of educational
television. As the first TV station to cover most of Acadia, WOI
also carried some programming from commercial networks.
February 23, 1950 (Thursday)
Asteroid 1950 DA is discovered by astronomers only five million
miles from Earth.
February 26, 1950 (Sunday)
Acadian nuclear physicist Leon Silard appeared with other atomic
scientists on the NBC Radio program University Round Table, and
first described the cobalt bomb, whose radioactive cobalt-60
fallout cloud could spread across the world and destroy all life
on Earth.
The last Nationalist Chengdu stronghold in "Mainland Chengdu" is
lost, as Communist Chengdu troops marched into the provincial
capital.

The RQH Ministry of Defense, after spending several weeks in
talks announced today the RQH has joined the Atomic Weapons
Commision with Arcadia and Linkoping to share knowledge and
increase security.
The Ministry on Foreign Relations announced today that the RQH
has made a Defense Pact with the Nationalist Chengdu.
The Ministry of Defense has announced that the 1st Marine
division and elements of the 3rd Fleet are enroute to Tinwa (27
day trip).

Event for Week 2:
An incident that occurred at 12:07 A.M., ETST, during a raid on
a small rebel base, resulted in the deaths of Private First
Class Vasily Yehzov and Lance Corporal Yuri Zharkov. The
traumatized man responsible for their deaths, Private Ivan
Klimov, has said nothing of the incident. However, his platoon
leader, Gunnery Sergeant Dmitry Lazarev has spoken in his
defense, stating, "these sorts of incidents occur during times
of war, whether that war be against a rebellion or against
another nation. The man had no way of knowing his brothers were
trapped in there, and had no intentions of shooting them. These
reporters who are treating him as a criminal and a villain
should be ashamed; he did NOT intent to kill his comrades." A
reporter attempted to respond with a snide insinuation, but the
sergeant put that reporter in his place with a swift punch to
the face.

NBC News Report
The local authorities have begun a massive undertaking
investigating the numerous missing persons reports in the
western Raasi of Mashariki. Sources claim that over three
hundred people have gone missing from this region in just the
last six months. Many locals are claiming that Surybayan slavers
are kidnapping these people from their homes and then selling
them to the slave nation of Criteria. Many in the Raasi are
hoping that the IAGA resolution 01/06 passes. If this happens a
large scale blockade and searching of all ships may very well
turn up the Nyekundu citizens.
In other news color televisions have seen a dramatic drop in
price due largely to improvements in technology and access to
resources. The Nyekundu Broadcasting Corporation has announced
that the first color image television show will be The Divorce
starring real life couple Benthi and Aodi Nkwini and their two
children in a situational comedy. The show is set to air next
Monday at 5 pm.
Medical researchers at the National Institute of Health have
announced the successful trial of an oral Polio vaccine. The
test was done on 20 male children ages 3 through 12 and resulted
in no ill effects. Researchers are still refining the vaccine as
it does not guarantee immunity yet. Researchers project that a
final oral vaccine should be ready for wide scale distribution
in three to five years.

ASBS News Report:
Only a few short hours ago, a Police convoy carrying several
unidentified passengers to a Military prison were attacked by
what is believed to be Communist Rebels just north of the
capital city today. Several officers have died as a result of
this attack, as well as a number of the attackers. Unfortunetly
however, the prisoners being transported have escaped.

We are more than happy to assist our ally in the disaster
relief. The Grenetarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is now
gathering able-bodied civilian doctors/ nurses, as well as
military doctors/ nurses to aid civilians, and slaves alike in
Criteria. We will also send a force of Air Force transport jets
filled with humanitarian gods, and National Grenetarian Ground
Forces personell to assist rebuilding, and other logistical
operations in Criteria.

Nyekundu offers their assistance in anyway they can to the
Allied States. These violent actions are the result of the
communists showing their true self and baring their teeth. We
must put these rabid dogs down and show them that our bite is
much worse than theirs.

The Nyekundu Third Task Force has left Freedonian port and is
heading full steam towards Torrocca in an effort to assist in
the rescue and recovery of any surviving sailors. They are
expected to arrive on site in about two days with weather
permitting. The Admiral of the Third Task Force, Admiral Gyanna
Ulowi, has radioed ahead to the Emperor's fleet and informing
him. The crew is passing very close to Criterian waters and as a
result the ship is on full alert and at the ready. Recon
helicopters are being prepared and additional medical staff have
been placed on the ships.
