Ali's Lineart

Top Edit: As me and a few others have moved here from the CY
Forum after some of our people were purged by the admin there, I
will be posting some of my stuff here. So Hello and hopefully
won't be leaving for a while.

/>Now as for art, here's a truck based on the Dodge Power
Wagon/WC-series for a dieselpunk setting.
Most recent thing I've done, and I don't feel like grabbing some
of my older shit, so this is it for now.

Suicide doors on your pickup?

Suicide doors on your pickup?
[/quote]Yes, my brother's Chevy's* back doors are suicide, so I
decided to just do the same b/c the other Four-door Dodge Power
Wagons I've seen are quite ugly.
*Which is a quite a bit younger than the era the truck is
supposed to come from. However, I did base it off of a car from
the 50s that had suicide back doors. Can't remember what it was
called.

Methinks in all of car history, the most noteworthy post-WWII
instance of suicide doors was the infamous Lincoln Continentals
of the 60's-70's. Before the war, it was very common. After the
Continentals, markedly uncommon.
However, you find them in the contemporary Saturn Ion and Toyota
FJ Cruiser, albeit not easy to open while driving as much as the
old school ones.
It's a unique design choice!

Fixed that for you.
Also, just about every extended cab (the exact midpoint between
single and crew cab) truck has suicide doors.

I have seen quite a few new models with the suicide doors and I
gotta say I kinda like em. But the majority of extended cabs I
have seen are plain jane doors. Now, Ali, just throw a still in
the bed and it'll be perfect.

Extended cab trucks simply mean that a second row of seats is
present. Many main iterations of the most common trucks did not
add doors for the second row in extended cab, only in crew cab.
Due to the safety concerns of the suicide doors, they were rare.
Only recently with the desire to make access to an extended cab
easier without the bigger size of a full, four door crew cab,
did the half-suicide doors get reintroduced (also see Saturn
Ion, Honda Element and Toyota FJ Cruiser of the early 2000's)
Half-suicide doors cannot be opened unless the main front doors
are open.
Also, I echo the sentiment: Put in a still. (Reminds me of the
days when my buddy owned a farm and somehow always had third-run
moonshine around for a weekend party during NASCAR season. I
always made time to "business" travel to Martinsville.)

Due to laziness and some other things, I'm going to ignore
Wolfman's comment on the suicide doors and the still stuff.
Anyways in the setting I'm making this for, electricity was
knocked out by a solar flare. So I was wondering what to do for
headlights.
Some info on the setting (taken from the forum where it was born
and from where we fled)

That reminds me, I really need to rewrite the introductory post
thing.

Lime lights, which were common on stage prior to electricity
would provide more than sufficient light, or hooded oil lamps.
