Inter-Global Automotive Manufacturing ASTRO / ASTRA Heavy Truck
       By: wolfman_six Date: March 1, 2013, 12:33 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The ASTRO (Domestic) or ASTRA (Export) heavy military truck is
designed along with a host of trailers to provide both on-road
       and off -road cargo delivery.
Powered by a micro-fusion power cell and a hybrid
fusion-electric independent wheel motor drive, the vehicle is
capable and versatile. It is in general service use by GEAR 1
commercial transport companies and heavy truck transport units
of the military. Many civilian firms with military base supply
contracts operate the ASTRO equipment due to the remoteness of
frontier outposts which demand their regular freight delivery
       services.
6 wheel ASTRO vehicles have all three axles powered, (two axles
for steering) but a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and
electrical force distribution unit (EFDU) control how much power
is required based on conditions. 8 wheel ASTRO units have all
four axles powered with two axles for steering. Specially
designed off-road trailers also have available drive motors to
provide power to the trailer's axles when connected to the ASTRO
       EFDU.
ASTRO comes in civilian paint schemes and camo patterns for the
military. Civilian units can be identified by a cowl that covers
components behind the cab, which are not specified in the
       original military design.

You should try drawing camo instead of using images from the
       internet.
       It makes it look godawful.

Those are awesome trucks... had to download them. I am sure they
will find an excellent place at my game table. Good Job!

       OK - Military themed stuff...
I don't subscribe to the JG way of doing figures. I'd rather do
a pose and combine all the uniform variations in use over at
GEAR 1. Of course, once I do that, I share the master so other
       folks can enjoy it too.
I've added one of my fictional technical pubs issued by the GEAR
1 armed forces concerning the NLOS (Non-Line of Sight)
containerized vertical missile launcher "NETFIRES". Why this
concept didn't take off in real life astounds me. I can imagine
dropping a shipping container in the middle of Indian Country
and watching all the baddies run around in circles as missiles
come from "out of nowhere" and blow up their stuff.
And for some sh!ts and giggles... I drew the iconic A-Team van
on a request after drawing the Ford Gran Torino from Starsky and
Hutch. The van wouldn't be complete without the A-Team to go
with it. (I blew out too many attempts at depicting all of BA's
       gold - had to simplify.)
