If you want to have another country to be deployed to, Amanji
has been engaged in a civil war for the last 16 years. Though
the main part of the war was fought between 1997 and 2003, there
still die ~250 every month in hostillities.

Bumping the thread with an idea.
How about a terracotta beret, like the one used by the
Multinational Force and Observers
HTML http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multinational_Force_and_Observers?<br
/>It would certainly be different.

Patagonia has made a division available to the ICA. (Should
anyone be interested in starting a story line.)

I'm going to start a civil war in my 3rd world country at some
point during the week. After the Kamlian Marines restore order ,
there will be most likely be a need for peacekeepers.

So would it be right to assume that there are Tank Generations
in PoN as there is in reality? (M60, Leo 1, Cheiftain being the
1st Gen; M1, Challenger 2 and Leo 2 being 2nd Gen; M1A2, Leo2A6
and Challenger 2 being 3rd Generation). If so, new tanks
entering service from 2013-2020 could be considered 4th
Generation.

Well the generations of tanks is kind of a man made
classification. From what i remember the first gen tanks were
those built right after ww2 and the second gen tanks were the
first to introduce real digital systems and NBC protection.
Third gen tanks have even better systems and protection. Its
quite possible that nations like Amanji would be introducing new
tanks that were only gen 2 or maybe 3. Tanks made by first world
powers and the such would be gen 3 unless they bring some
spanking new systems and protection. I think NERA and ERA armor
is considered gen 3 still. Rolf Hilmes wrote a book about this
and used the common three generation system in it as well as the
intermediary generations which are like gen 1.5, gen 2.5, and
gen 3.5. The problem is that you can't say "this tank is a next
gen vehicle", it sounds cool but you can only determine
generations based on clear vehicular aspects.
Just my 2 cents :P

First Generation NATO MBTs (M60, Leo1 and Cheiftain) mainly used
the 105mm L7. 2nd Generation vehicles began the use of Chobham
Armour and full NBC. , 3rd Generation generally have German
designed L44 or L55 Guns, with advanced fire control, most of
them being retrofitted with ADS and RCWs in recent years, and I
know the Leopard 2A6 comes standard with an Electric Drive
turret as opposed to Hydraulic.
The way things are going, 4th Gen Tanks (or 5th if the
M46/47/48s, Centurions and other designed and fielded around the
same time are called the 1st Generation) would generally be
equipped with an RCWS and ADS as standard. My Nation's most
advanced tank can be seen as the PoN equivalent of the Leo2A7,
M1A3 and T-99. Whereas most Kamlian Armoured Units are still
using Tanks equivalent to a Leo2A6 or M1A2, as would most 1st
world PoN Nations. One other aspect of this is that most armies
upgrade older equipment to the same capabilities as more
advanced hardware, Canada did it with Leo2A4s, essentially
bringing them up to par with A6s. South Korea is still using
heavily upgraded M48s, GDLS has a an upgrade package for the M60
that essentially turns in into a wannabe Abrams.
As for NERA and ERA, from what I can tell, it follows its own
classification, same as Chobham Armour, theres different
Generations of it, sort of like A1 or A2. Basically means the
next generation offers more protection then the previous. The
Intermediary generations makes alot of sense though, It can be
seen in a T-80U being more effective then a T-80, while both
versions belong to the same generation.
