The General called an Emergency meeting and everyone had to
listen in, for those that were not on the same base as him a
signal was sent out to all the other bases Yorkshire England,
Colorado America, Ontario Canada, Hesse Germany, Moscow Russia
and Anchorage Alaska and the United Nations Black Project Chiefs
were all receiving the transmission from the Main base in
Romania
"Ladies and Gentlemen Less than 3 hours ago I got confirmed
reports that a number of unidentified objects are heading
towards our planet, they will enter our atmosphere in less than
3 hours over Alaska, they may just be Meteorites but with the
threat of the Quinary I suggest we take no chances. I am
ordering a Yellow alert, our special team will go in but hold
back, a group of US Marine Scouts will survey the area if they
see life forms they are to pull out and the ETCF special team
will go in, now go great ready wheels up in 5 good hunting"
The transmission ended, leaving everyone to get ready and fast

William quickly drank down a blood pack and walked towards the
plane "William!" a voice called out behind him, William stopped
and turned and saw the Professor running up behind him with a
what looked like a weapons case "I've been looking everywhere
for you" Professor Klaus said slight out of breath "Sorry I went
to get a bite to drink" William said with a smirk.
"I have something very special to show you Professor Klaus said
putting the case on a window ledge and slowly opening it and
taking out a very large pistol and handing it to William "The
Buffalo, so named for it's power and unholy kick, it fires
custom made rounds far more powerful than even the Desert Eagle,
40 cm (15.7 inches) long, 18 KG (39.6 lbs) in weight, 6 rounds
per magazine the Buffalo has more power than any human could be
expected to handle, but since you're not human I don't think it
will be a problem for you"

William smiled at the gun and looked at the Professor "and the
rounds?" he asked "13mm explosive shells" Klaus answered
"casings?" William asked "Fragmentation cases built like a
grenade" Klaus once again answered
"And the tips, Explosive?" William asked with an ever increasing
smile "of course, so once the bullet enters the target the tips
explode so it's like a fragmentation grenade going off inside
them" Klaus answered letting out a slight wince as he imagined
what he was describing.
"It's perfection Professor" William said sliding a magazine into
the well, Professor Klaus then handed him a large holster "thank
you once again Professor" William said taking off his coat and
putting the holster on then putting his coat back on over it.
The Professor gave William 4 extra magazines, picked up the
empty case and walked back to the R&D department
William put the Mags on his holster belt and boarded the plane
about to leave Colorado for Alaska

After recieving the message from HQ, Agent 6 gathered his gear
and boarded an F-15 for a rapid transit to Elmendorf AFB, where
he would meet the other team members. After weeks of testing at
the remote laboratory he was glad to get out and hopefully meet
some people he could become friends with. But, alas mission
first.
Putting aside his thoughts he pulled out his data-pad and began
reviewing all relevant data about the area. Maps, topographical,
street maps and weather forecasts, this was followed by a review
of the local Inuit dialect, no information existed about the
enemy which really irritated Agent 6, that was a huge
intelligence gap. Deep Space probes and Hubble should at least
have some imagery to work with and if they were being held up at
higher levels do to security then they were setting themselves
up for failure.
Agent 6 went over his weapons the high tech gauss weapons were
meticulously cleaned and calibrated, then his blades recieved
the same treatment. Finally he prepared his armor downloading
imagery from the operating area allowed his armors smart
camouflage to work faster. He then selected a selection of small
lightweight grenades and placed them in pouches, loaded 2
medical pouches and two stim pouches in his armors autocare
unit. Finally he did communications checks and computer data
link checks.
The F-15 was finally circling into final approach as Agent 6
woke up from his nap. The air brake came up as the flaps went
down folllowed by the bump as the wheels made contact with the
runway at Elmendorf. In a few minutes the F-15 had rolled to a
stop on the pad as they roled up ladders. Agent six disconnected
his mask and G-suit. Then he climbed down and was led to a
hanger...

Marius has packed light. In Hesse, he ditched his vz.58 in
favour of something more modern; A SIG SG 556 with an AN/PSQ-20
night vision sight. He held onto his gladius and browning
hi-power, but ditched his light summer cloths for a DPM
windproof jacket and OD trousers. He wore a standard load
bearing vest, packed with ammo and rations. He had also been
given an experimental cloaking device. It was literally a cloak
(which he felt like a right tit for wearing and had stuffed into
one of the pouches on his vest). A 'metamaterial', that, when an
electric current is run through it, bends light waves around it.
It was not prefect of cause, the light would shimmer and
sometimes it would randomly stop working, but it was better than
nothing.
The flight on the C-130 was long and loud. He attempted to sleep
of cause, but he had always found it difficult to sleep on
flights. By the time he arrived in Alaska, Marius was badly jet
lagged. After landing, he was swarmed by ETCF staff who handed
him coffee and led him into the base. He was led into a room
with two young men, both of very pale skin and dark hair. Marius
eyed them for a few moments before taking a seat and wordlessly
sipping his coffee.

William stood up and walked over to the wall and leaned against
it crossing his arms, clearly getting impatient "come on for
fucks sake, don't they realize they are wasting important
peoples time?" William said with a slight growl as he began
tapping his right index finger on his left bicep

Romania
Richard slipped on his black fatigues, freshly washed, and
discarded his towel into the shower block’s laundry bin. He
pulled on his black boots over a pair of dark grey socks and
then clipped a pistol holster to his beltline. He opened his
palm and the Strange Pistol jumped into it. He had felt that it
was safe to leave it unguarded; he knew now that he could
recover it easily enough.
He gasped suddenly as a vision flashed across his mind. Flame
and fire, a reaching hand and stone. A grey mask. Nothing. He
leaned forward against the bench, propping himself up with one
hand, the other fast to his forehead. Another flashback. That
made two this morning. He still couldn’t decipher them; they
seemed to hold no clue to the life he had lost. He shook his
head clear and finished suiting up. Last on was a pair of black
gloves, which he pulled tenderly over his scarred hands before
standing up straight.
He left the block and entered into one of the base’s many
corridors. It certainly was an underground marvel, this place.
He checked the signs and headed off toward “Dispatch One”, the
main underground hangar bay. The corridors were alive with
activity; two personnel in blue suits hurried along in the other
direction, gabbling about “constant-bearing contacts” and “rapid
response systems”. A uniformed soldier marched around the
corner, weapon in hand. The lights flickered briefly, and
Richard wondered how the base could draw as much power as it
needed without being detected.
More footsteps, hurrying along behind him. He stood to the left
to allow the person to pass, but instead they hove up alongside
him. He turned to see who it was and was greeted with the sight
of a cosmonaut suit. Natasha.
“Hey,” she said, glancing over to him. “You’re Richard, aren’t
you?”
“Yes, I am,” Richard replied cautiously. “What do you want?”
Natasha touched her hairline briefly. “I heard that you have an
interest in the Book.”
“What is it to you? You tried to steal it from here.”
“There is something about that book, some power to it. You know
that.”
“Do I?” Richard asked, trying to find out what Natasha knew of
it.
“It burns to the touch. You only need to look at your hands to
know that. And it is like your pistol...it is...uncanny to the
eye. Maybe there is something supernatural about it.”
“I don’t believe in that sort of thing,” Richard scowled.
“Yet here you are, a man who just appeared out of nowhere
without even a memory to remember himself by.” Her face grew
grave. “I think that it could be in our best interests to stick
together, you and I. I don’t trust these people around the Book
and I’m not sure that you do either.”
“I suppose that might be a good idea,” Richard replied. “But
tell me one thing: the General referred to you as a ‘Salamander’
earlier. What does that mean?”
“Oh, that,” Natasha said. “I...uh...well, I suppose that if we
are to work together it would be prudent to tell the truth.”
“Indeed.”
She sighed. “The Salamanders are a special task force
originating in Russia. The concept is that human subjects are
injected with semi-organic nanobots which allow them to break
down and reconstruct their form at will. They can take on the
shape of anything approximately their size; sometimes a little
smaller, sometimes a little bigger, and the bots allow them to
heal quicker than a normal person. I am...one of these test
subjects. One of the first. You see my foot? No damage done.”
“You can control the nanobots with your mind?”
“Yes. We are trained to be able to remember ‘imprints’ – these
we can assume at any time. See.” Her form shimmered and all of a
sudden Richard found himself standing next to Colonel Moss. A
passing soldier saluted hastily. She shimmered again back to her
cosmonaut form.
“Is that...is that dangerous at all?” Richard asked. More and
more now his mind was struggling to keep up with the strange new
discoveries around him. Aliens, burning books, unearthly pistols
and now a shapeshifter. How much weirder could it get?
“The process has its repercussions,” Natasha admitted. “The
constant reshuffling means that it is likely none of us
Salamanders will be able to change shape after the age of forty,
or else we may never be able to fully change back. Also, if we
take too much of a beating in any form, we can die as much as
any human can. Aha. We’re here.”
They looked up to see the open doorway of Dispatch One before
them. This was it then, the flight to Alaska. It was time to see
what weirness lay in wait for them all.

Agent 6 stood up and got a cup of creamer and sugar with a
dribble of coffe to make it wet. Then he walked over to the pale
guy leaning against the wall, he gave off odd vibes, age and
violence, which didn't fit the youthful person now in front of
him.
"Hey, my name is Agent 6, I just flew in from Kazakihstan this
morning. I was wondering who you were and if you could maybe
back fill me on some details?"

The Marines in Arctic Camouflage waited and watched the objects
crash down through rifle scopes, for 20 minutes there was no
movement but the objects looked metallic.
HTML http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/9237/arcticmarines.jpg
suddenly there was a hiss and the objects opened there was 6 of
them and 2 Aliens stepped out of each, the Recon team turned on
their helmet-cams, the signal was strong, the comms centre on
the Alaskan base saw what they could see.
HTML http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u432/Half-Blood87/Scouts_zps777946b2.jpg
"HQ to Recon, HQ to Recon.. Pull out, pull out we'll let the
ETCF handle this" The comms commander said
"Rodger HQ pulling out now, we'll let the specialists handle"
The Lieutenant said and they slowly pulled back trying not to
attract attention, then stopped as they noticed that the Aliens
were securing the area and erecting something that looked
something that looked like Comms equipment
HTML http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/638/180pxsecondradiomast35f.jpg
"Recon to HQ, Recon to HQ" The Lieutenant said into his headset
with increasing urgency "This is HQ, the voice came back "they
are erecting something that looks like Comms equipment, turning
helmet-cam back on so you have visual" the Lieutenant turning
his helmet-cam back on.
the Alaskan base saw the mast, it was about 80 feet (24.4
meters) high, as soon as it was plugged into all the ships all
the Quinary Aliens looked in the direction of the Recon unit,
the unit ducked down behind the snow drift "HQ, HQ something's
wrong they seem to know we are he..." then nothing but static.
"Fucking shit" The Base commander shouted as he threw his
headset down, he got on the, he patched himself through into the
conference room where the E.T.C.F special forces were "Quinary
confirmed, it's a go Helu will drop you as close as they can,
the Quinary are 10 miles east of this location and we believe
they have just taken out the Marine Recon unit we sent out to
survey the area, wheels up in 5." the transmission ended there.
OOC: I tried looking for better pics on Alien scouts but I
couldn't find any so I just reused the same pic from the JG

Fangs? Could it be... Marius though to himself as he watched the
the taller man leave. "Lamia." He whispered to himself, gently
putting his coffee mug down on the table. As he stood he could
hear the voice of his instructor Aulus Claudius Julius, famed
Vampire hunter of Emperor Hadrian's Frumentarii, the feared
secret service of the Roman Emperors. If you do not know what
type of vampire it is, you're best bet is to strike quickly.
Marius' hand reached for his gladius, sheathed on his back.
Always assume it knows you're coming and expect it to attack
before you. He began to walk forward as he drew the blade. And
remember, aim for the heart. He built into a run, pushing the
agent out of the way before charging at the lamia leaving the
room.
William heard the the quickening foot steps behind him and in
one fluid motion drew the Buffalo from it's holster under his
coat, and turned pointing it at the head of the man with the
unsheathed sword, and cocked the hammer back. "Problem? I hope
not because I'm hate to make a mess all over this lovely paint
work", he said with a grin looking down the 40 cm (15.7 inches)
long gun.
A sly smile crept across his face.
As Marius came to a halt, he lost his balance and fell flat on
his arse. "Ah, fuck" he said scrambling back up, gladius still
in has hands. He looked at the smile on the vampires face.
"Fucking abominations." He spat, sheathing his gladius. He
wasn't about to get into a tangle with a hand cannon pointed at
his face. "You fucking lamia's need to be wiped off the face of
the earth. All the gods from Sol Inviticus to the Yahweh call
for it." He said, his frown giving away his frustration.
"I don't have time to deal with you now Roman. How ever when
this business is all cleared up you can try to kill me for I am
probably the last of the pure bloods.. But only once this little
threat is over with clear?" William stated as he put the Buffalo
away and boarded the Helo.
Once he sat down he pulled the Buffalo out and and pulled the
slide back chambering a round "whoops" he said to himself and
sat back waiting for lift off.
"Humph."
Marius went back and downed the rest of his coffee. before
taking his invisibility cloak out of his vest and putting it on
with a sigh. He picked up his rifle and headed to the door,
before turning back to the agent. "You coming kid?"
OOC: In case anyone is wondering, lamia is Latin for vampire.
