Spit fires win a duel against helicopters.
But helicopters are immune to skinks compared to air planes.
You can treat Spitfire like stronger helicopters. Such anti air
helicopters and air planes can kill weaker ground troops pretty
well.

Air planes make unpredictable random moves. That's why you can't
do sniper jobs with them. With helocopters you can. For example
killing enemy troops in front of a L2 base is doable with
helicopters but not with air planes.
Spitfire is slightly stronger than helicopters. If you want to
save fuel then make only 1 Spit and 1 iL and 1 Detector and fly
around map edges with them.

Both anti air helicopters and AA air planes can kill ground
troops like Mauls etc. In most jobs you prefer helicopters,
because most jobs require to be steady and snipe, or be immune
against Skinks.
Top 1 usage comes from bombers, the 2nd is Horten, 3rd is
Detector, Spit fire has a position 4-5. So you don't see it
often.
1 random example to ise them: you must escort your Gpfs safely
to the highway gate and you know the enemy has mainly
helocopters usually there. You can do that job still with
helicopters, or willies.
