the dastardly death of the rogues

New York City may be the city that never sleeps, But Central
City is the city always on the run. Which means I have to be too
" oh come on Jim! There are crimes the cover! People say!
Stories to break! So another large latte Agnes, but better make
it a triple shot of espresso."
"Flash."
"What!"
"This is the fourth time you've ordered that today."
"So what?!"
"It's ten in the morning."
"Caffeine is a man's best friend! Or at least it's most reliable
one and I've been on break from the hero buisness to long!"
"Can you at least Take a small break? Smell the roses."
"Fine."
The flash sits down and drinks his coffee and a car speeds down
the street nearly hitting someone he sees the lisence plate says
"Trixtr"
"Break over!"
The Flash Taps the Wing Tips On the sides of his head and music
plays as he chases the car
"Pull over!"
The passenger takes a pistol and shoots flash point blank and he
catches it with his teeth
"Man how I've missed this!"
He punches through the glass and goes to the other side
"Trickster! Pull over now!" They both notice the highway is
still under construction and the car careens off and to the
construction site
The car is about to explode mid air as the flash jumps on it and
dismantles the car ad gets the two criminals out of it making
sure th car dosent hit anyone.
The steering wheel falls and nearly hits the son of one of the
workers before the flash grabs it
"Whoa."
"Hey kid. Names the flash nice to meet ya."
CCPD
A brown haired intern arrives to his first day
"Your late craig!"
"Traffics heavier than I remember barry!"
"Because central city's population has tripled since you came
back."
"That's good!"
"That's bad! Crime rates quadrupled! Every department is
stretched as thin as my paycheck and my patience. Both of which
are in a tug-of-war between ex wives."
"Ex wives?"
"Joke....for now. I'm not going to sugar-coat it. One week here
and you're going to wish you were back wherever the hell you've
been and whatever Podunk town you were holed up in."
"Actually it was to sunny for my tastes."
" I'm glad you're up for grey skies. The weather Wizards been
raining out every ball game for the last 2 weeks."
"What are his demands?"
"Nothing he's a jerk! Like the trickster who tied the roads in a
knot this morning and so you put the brakes on them. The crazies
trying to take over the world and enslave us all? Dark side?
Black Lantern rumors? At least we know when they're coming and
where they're going."
"And the rogues are the biggest cockroaches in this fair town."
" currently we've got more unsolved murders, unexplained deaths
and wrongful conviction suits than any other city in America."
" and I assume that's why I'm here? You want to dig out the cold
cases you want to do it quietly, and you want to do it on your
own time."
" exactly which I promise we are not going to have a lot of.
Look, I really appreciate you taking the city off my hands for a
little bit, Keystone, hub, and working with the Justice League
has me as then I said I can manage already. And I appreciate
that you actually listen to some my forensic lectures, if you
even understand 1% of anything I ever steered at you you're
already smarter than any of these idiots that work in this
department. Just one thing cops are like roads in one respect,
they're both very territorial."
Barry kicks open the door to the forensics lab
" alright you Lab Rats, listen up! This here is my Golden Boy
and he's got more talent in his pinky than you all having this
whole room! He just needs a little kick in the ass once in
awhile like every one of you. So say hello and get to work and
close these damn cases!" He turns back to donovin
"Alright I'm outta here."
"You are very high strung right now I think you need so relax-"
"Remember central city's motto while your here: "the faster the
better" now knock em dead."
Barry leaves him
"Uh. Morning?"
CENTRAL PARKER
"Can we speed this up jim?"
"Jeez mr. Allen I don't know who I serve more you or the flash."
Barry chuckles to himself
Suddenly a blue light strikes down and a man shrouded in
darkness appears
"I'm sorry."
He dissapers and the dead body of mirror master is found.
CCPD
Donovin hops on his chair at his desk
"So does anyone know how these seats work?"
"Golden boy!"
A man in a purple vest throws a cade on his desk
" we are a body at the edge of the park. And since according to
Barry, you're operating on a much higher level than the rest of
us, why don't you process this one yourself. You know show us
how it's done? And Craig. Hurry the hell up"
" Charter saw. Said there was a flash of light than the body
appeared." Barry says as donovin examines it
"So what do you see?" He asks
"Your the actual investigator."
"And im also not here anymore in about an hour so what do you
see?"
" obvious trauma to the Head. Defensive wounds on his hands.
Figure nails. Or powdered glass underneath them. Suggesting he
fired his Infamous mirror gun or was killed. However he went
down, he went down... Fighting. Hey! Can I see that mug shot?"
He removes the mask and barry shows the picture of mirror master
He walks over and talks to iris behind the tape
"So what's the story mirror master killed?"
" don't think it is me remastered Iris. Sam's Scudder died years
ago in the Scottish Hitman for hire that took his suit mirrors
and m.o."
"Evan McCullough?"
"Not him either."
" so it's someone dressed up like the mirror master? Or maybe
the killer put the dick in the uniform post mortem like a
sidekick stalker did last fall. But if this isn't the real
mirror master who is he? Just give me a little inside info for
the Central City citizen, Fleet Feet."
"See that's against police policy and you know I can't do that."
They both hear a police officer say
"Just got a call detective. There's another light show erupting
in the sky?"
"Where at?"
"A block west of the ten on ramp."
Barry turns and nods at donovin as he runs off
The flash follows the blue light and gets to the top of a
skyscraper
He sees the rogues sitting on a blue platform
" my name is Commander cold. Me and my crew are from the 25th
Century. You are under arrest for the murder of mirror monarch."
"I diddint kill anyone!"
"Not yet. But you will."

"I'm under arrest?" The flash says not be living the situation
he's in
" for the death of special officer mirror Monarch. Senior member
of the 25th Century reverse flash task force the Renegades."
Commander cold says" according to the tricksters X scope you
will murder me or Monarch in approximately 84 days, seven hours,
and 33 minutes. All roads at the office of course."
"Why would I kill him?"
" you'll find out after we bring you in class, but it's not
pretty. You're lucky Commander cold calling the shots and not
me." The top says
"Code four six two top. Information is power."
"Sorry sir."
" as leader of the Renegades, flash, I have no pride in having
to bring you in. Did just as you've brought to your era and the
countless others, including ours is commendable. I'm sure
someone like you understands murder is murder."
He throws two snowflakes that explode causing an avalanche of
snow to throw flash from the building as the Renegades follow
" the roads from this time may have been on the wrong side of
the law, but they knew how to deal with someone who can move at
the speed of light given enough open road. You want to surprise
someone who can you run from 0 to this Sonic Boom in 60 seconds,
your best bet is cold. Weather warlock, keep the blizzard focus
on the flash we don't want to bring any innocence breaking in
two."
The flash sees the small snowflake flying around him and he
crushes it causing the snow to dissaper and he lands on a coo
car
" he singled out your blizzard starter, Commander out of
thousands of snowflakes." Weather warlock says
"Condsider this in exercise against your inevitable
confrontation with Professor Zoom, Warlock and watch yourself
heat stroke we don't want that soup broken open. You're still
recovering."
"I'm fine." He replies
" we apologize for this intrusion on your jurisdiction officers
who make this quick and leave your era to you. Cuffs." The
trixter says
"Constrain level ten."
The flash runs as the machine extends he runs behinds the
trixter and he gets cuffed causing him to shoot at the blue
circle he's standing on
" his time platforms been damaged. Everyone shut down-"
Another blue light washes over and the group dissapers
The explosion causes a mini earthquake that strikes a nearby
apartment the flash runs in and gets everyone out as It
collapses
"Everyone okay?"
"Aw man." One of the people say
"Where are we gonna live?"
"Um. One sec."
The flash runs between the library and the apartment and reads
hundreds of books and rebuilds the apartment completley
refurbished including a swingset and a fresh coat of pink paint
"My folly was in there." A child says
A red blur runs and she has a doll in her hair
"My dolly had blonde-" a red blur runs again
CCPD
"Any new leads barry?"
"Besides not being able to ID who this mirror master is forrest?
No."
An old lady speaks to an officer and barry and donovin overhear
"Pease help me."
"What's the problem ma'am?" Barry asks
"My son is innocent."
"Okay of what."
" he was convicted of first-degree murder but the old man that's
saw him was wrong dead wrong. It wasn't my boy he was home with
me cooking supper but no one will believe me."
"Ma'am I'm sorry but."
" no one will stop and listen. Everyone's too busy to help."
"Ma'am what's your sons name?" Donovin asks
Donovin grabs a file as he gets shouted at
" Craig why the hell are you digging into the Hicks case? It
seems just closed it."
"I'm opening it back up."
"We have a conffesion!"
" a confession after a 12-hour interrogation. I don't need to
tell you how unreliable that is do I? And this Witness-"
" Jason Hicks murdered an old couple for less than $200 in a
television set."
" this kid is going away for Life thing the least we can do is
make sure he's guilty."
"He was convicted by a jury of his peers."
"At least pretend to give a damn about your job!"
" Barry can tell us you'll show us how to do our jobs, but you
sure as hell won't actually do it!"
"Singh!" A voice shouts for him
"What forrest?!"
" we found traces of blood on this mirror Master look-alikes
glove. But it didn't belong to him."
"You run the DNA?"
"Already did we got a suspect."
"So who did it?"
The computer brings up a drivers license
"Craig, Donovin D.N.A MATCH

CCPD CRIME LAB
"I..I wouldint."
"But that's what the evidence says right forrest?" Singh asks
"Yes."
"And do you know why craig?"
"No."
"It's because you contaminated the crime scene like an amateur!
So the next time you want to dig into our closet because you
thibk our work is "sloppy" make sure your own is cleaned first!
Got that golden boy?"
"Yes. Yes sir."
Donovin and barry sit in jitters as they both finish their
seventh cup
"Had to be wrong."
" Forest they have one eye on his retirement boat, but is it
really necessary. He says the DNA match to mind that means I was
at least present when mirror monarch was murdered."
"Or maybe Singh is right. Maybe you contaminated the evidence."
"...."
"Or not."
Barry overlooks a case file
"Your not supposed to take evidence from the lab."
"I'm not. This is the Hicks file."
" what's Hicks have to do with the reverse Rogues coming back in
the time the 25th Century and accusing me of murder?"
"Nothing."
"Nothing?"
" this kidnapping wrongfully convicted of murder. I'll get back
to the Renegades later."
"Later? Barry I have cops hunting me from the future!"
"And this kid is in prison now. I have to worry about the
present, at the future. And if Jason Hicks is innocent, I don't
want him spending a second more behind bars and I can help I
know what that's like. Super speed perception or not the seconds
seep into days."
Suddenly a blue light appears and the jitters window gets blown
in
"Come out with your hands up!m
the two flashes appear outside
"Which one are you arresting?"
"I swears it it was his idea!"
"And here I thought the rogues could clean up there act."
"Were not rogues flash. We're-"
" the Renegades members of the reverse flash task force. I heard
you the first time you came to my city and nearly aged an
apartment buildingit dust with the tenants still inside."
"Your city?"
"Bear with."
The flash runs down the street and grabs commander cold as the
other flash leads the Renegades away
" I've given you every opportunity to talk to me. Instead you
want to lock me up and ask me questions later. I know mirror
Monarch was your teammate-"
"He was my friend."
"Then help me find the real killer what do you say?"
"Cold suit."
"Cold suit?"
Commander colds entire body drops to subzero tempatures freezing
the flash
"We got him!"
"Let's take him in boys."
Suddenly trixter gets hit and flys against the building
The Renegades turn and see cyborg turn his cannon back into his
arm as the other titans join in
"I leave you alone for thirty minutes and you go ahead and turn
yourself into a Scarlett popsicle." Cyborg says
"Oh nothing to say flash? That's a first!" Beast boy shouts then
laughs through watery eyes cyborg and beat boy notice the
Renegades turn their weapons on them and see ravens scowl
"Which ones worse bb?"
"Well I'd rather fight the rogues that answer your question?"

A hellicopter hovers above a destroyed city street
"This is central city one we've got confirmed sightings of the
teen titans and....the flash. Repeat the flash is on scene!"
"Alright flash!" Night wing says "Who the hell are these guys
with badges and why are they tying you up?"
Night wing dodges a cold beam and hits commander cold with an
escrima stick
"Ah well its my thing and these people were just soooo happy to
accommodate." The flash retorts as he runs up a building and
kicks heatstroke
"Typical flash. Talking to much."
"Typical dick!"
Flash jumps on nightingale back and up a tall building and runs
along the helicopters blade as it gets hit by a stray fire ball
he gets both people out as the chopper explodes in the street
below
Barry clears the street and sees the explosion
"Aaaand this is why I miss central city!"
The Flash looks and sees the cop he just saved fire his gun at
the Renegades
"Barry allen!" Commander cold says
"We are not here to arrest you. Just your partner." As he says
that the flash runs and picks up the bullets that are about to
enter their skulls he stops at the top of the street and let's
the bullets hit the floor
"This is wrong." Trixter says
"No shit!" Heat stroke says
"No the flash saved those people and just saved us! And we're
gonna arrest him?" He asks as they fight the titans
"The flash is going to murder one of our fellow officers in cold
blood!"
"Except that's not the flash that does it." Trixter replies
leaving heatstroke confused
"What?!"
Trixter speeds off and grabs barry
"Hold on! I know donovin commuting cold blooded murder dosent
make sence and it dosent! You do."
Barry stunned grabs his suit. "Never!"
" I'm going to tell you about your future. About what's going to
happen then you can stop it before it even starts will never
have to make the choice."
"What are you talking about?!"
"I'm talking about your wife."
Barry pushes trixter against a wall
"What do you know about my wife!"
" now that you're back in Central City, the roads are preparing
to launch an all-out assault against you. And mirror master in
particular has come into possession of a weapon he won't be able
to control. A gateway to the Nexus of the mirror worlds designed
by the first mirror Master, Sam Scudder. When the Rogue Shadow
it, the mirror the words will be at least one of them will take
possession of Iris... Changing her into one of your greatest
roads. The mirror mistress the only way to free her before her
mind lost forever is to close the Gateway between Earth and the
mirror lands. And the only way to do that is for the person who
opened it to die."
"I'd find another way."
" you try. You'll exhaust every resource what time will run out.
Even for you, and as the seconds count down you'll be left with
one choice the life of your wife or mirror Master. You
mistakenly find your Monarch... And everyone loses. Your Monarch
is dead, irises remember one of your enemies, and he takes the
blame for the murder. But if this can all change / all you have
to do with it at the roads before they attack you."
Back at the fight heatstroke gets to commander cold
"He went to tell the flash!"
"What!"
"Trixter he told him what happened!"
"We have a breach everyone!"
Suddenly the whole street freezes and captain cold and the
rogues appear
"Well would you look at this."

CENTRAL CITY
" if we work together we can still online this you can save your
wife, and my teammate. The theory is if we arrest you now,
mirror Monarch will still be alive in the future.."
" so that's what you in the rest of Renegades came back in time
to do? Change history? You can't change history, at least we
can't. And he'd still he in prison for a crime he hasint
commited!"
" why do you think I'm going to put things on your side? It's a
twisted way the 25th Century courts work. It just isn't
concerned with what happens to anyone unless it's a crime
committed against someone from our era." Trixter says as the two
make their way back to the battle
" but if we're monarchs death has been prevented Because of You
warning me when this entire experience be erasing the timeline?
We'd never even meet so whatever you told me whatever we've done
up until now it hasn't changed anything!"
" you have a point. But that's because there's a reason
nothing's changed. We still haven't prevented the trigger that
kicks off this whole mess, we have to stop the road from
breaking that mirror."
They arrive and see the rogues taking on the Renegades as the
flash moves the unconcious teen titans to a safe place
They see a giant mirror thay says
"Break in case of the flash."
Captain cold and heatwave take cover
"It's like fighting our reflections cold!"
" don't let your goggles fog up with hesitation, Heat Wave this
isn't the first time we've faced off against knockoffs! "
" you're talking of petty criminals like chill Bane and burn."
Commander cold says as he and heatstroke fly towards then
"But we're not criminals!" Heatstroke says
" don't let the suit fool you. We're officers of the most
advanced form of Temple Justice ever designed."
" these Renegades he there from the bloody future smart. That
they're here to arrest the flash!" Captain boomerang says as he
attacks the two
"They may be from the future but they're about to be history."
Cold says as he hits commander cold
" I've got to convince the other one I need to see things my way
Flash. Fighting the rose is the only way to antagonize them. And
if they shatter the Mirror film least mirror Lords." Trixter
says
"And one of them takes possession of iris?" Barry reaffirms
"Who becomes your mist legendary enemy"
"Hey mulloch!" Trickster yells as he attacks the Renegades
"Break the glass already! I wanna see what happenes!"
" kid. Let's see what kind of bad luck scudders mirror can
unleash!"
Barry runs and makes eye contact with the flash and he nods. The
flash understands and Makes a beeline for mirror master
" active kind of thick what is it? Scottish?" A red blur asks
"Wot?"
" I heard someone had taken over for Sam's gutter. You're
shorter than he was and less prepared."
He breaks his mirror gun and he hears mirror master say
"Less prepared?" Hundreds of times as the shards fly past
"Where?"
" you keep them wingtips nice and shiny don't you?"
The police radio becomes ear bleedingly loud as the flash gets
to one knee. He rips off his wingtips as he screams
" Mark Twain said Thunder is good, Thunder is impressive, but it
is lightning that does the work. In June I know a thing or two
about the lightning don't we flush? I have to admit I've been
looking forward to this moment since I first heard you'd
returned to Central City. Controlling weather, well, there's not
much surprise to be had day today when you brought that
sensitive right back. What is going to look like today? Let's
start with high winds."
The flash looks up and sees weather wizard in the middle of a
thunder storm
He get sucked up by the winds
"Flash!"
Barry runs into the storm and runs around it trying to cancel it
out
they land next to trixter
"Get three sets of cuffs. They're under arrest."
The flash hits barry and they notice the mirror is cracked
The rogues shoot commander cold
"I killed the top from the 25th Century I can do it again."
"How do I stop it from breaking?" Barry asks trixter
"You cant. But your strong enough to defeat them."
"What?!"
"Do it!" Trixter pushes the flash into the mirror
He sees vague memories of his brother and his mom alive
"What is?... this isint real!" They get closet as he breaks back
out of it
"These are just reflections! Not-"
He sees the flash being arrested and the mirror Lords escaping
"No!"
The Flash is transported to a strange room with a man in all red
"Flash you are on trial for murder!"

The trixter appears in iris wests office who is looking over the
case file barry gave her
"Iris west. I need that report over your dead body."
The man in the red robes bangs his gavel
"I established this court to wipe out crime in my time! I am
truly sorry that's coming to this for a hero as legendary as
yourself, flash, but murder even if it was due to mistaken
identity, is still murder you are on trial for the killer of
mirror Monarch a founding member of the reverse flash task force
and an officer my court."
The flash replays the last few seconds in his head
Barry breaks out of the mirror screams "mirror lords!" But
nothing but a few colors escape nothing happened. He replays
Everything's that's happened
"What are the names of your agents?"
"Don't interupt me again!"
" why should I respect your loss, Commander? I sure as hell am
respecting mine."
" because as much as you believe in your arrows interpretation
of Justice, it's primitive but the Renegades in this Corridor
attention to his revolutionary period we're not just going to
stop crime, we're going to erase it from your history books"
"Your history is wrong."
"Excuse me?"
" Barry told me the mirror the roads had was going to release
something called Mirror Awards. He said the only way to save his
wife from them was by killing the mirror master. And he said in
his desperation to save Iris he mistakenly kills one of your
teammates. But if that's true, why are there no mirror lures
find out when the mirror was shattered I was out colors when it
broke. Your history books are full of lies! And the trickster
has been perpetuating them!"
"We will take care of that traitor later! Worry about yourself."
"I'm not worried about myself commander. I'm worried about my
friends wife."
"I was hoping it wouldint get this complicated." Trixter says
"What do you want?" Iris asks
" fat box McAllen. The events in the murder case your husband
decided to look into."
"Why do you care?"
"Because it affects me."
"You? The flash says your a cop from the future!"
" yes. And my career is more important to me than anything. I am
a proud police officer from the 25th Century. And nothing is
going to take that away." He moves towards iris
" you were all there, it's true. You know it didn't happen like
that."
"Trixter did tell him every detail. The trickster was the one
who brought all of this information to us in the first place,
Warwick. He had documented proof from your monarchs nearest
but... That's right. There were no mirror lords."
Barry stands there confused as the rogues aim at him
"The mirror diddint do jack!" The top yells
" keep your knickers on, trickster. From what stutters note said
the Looking-Glass plants a seed in his Target. So let's hope he
doesn't punch us in the-"
A green elephant and black energy hits two of the rogues
"Titans go!" Night wing says as the flash runs at them from the
other side
" our historical records are fine. The trial proceedings with
the evidence presented before me." The judge says
" okay honestly, I appreciate the fine work you people do in the
21st century. But my friend's wife may be in serious danger so
it's been fun but kinda have to go." The cuffs on the flash melt
as he vibrates " if you were suggesting the trickster is behind
all of this the death of mirror Monarch, you're missing in that
one key element of a crime, motives."
" don't try to speak Miss Allen. I'm sucking all the air out of
your lungs. If the best way to go is as painless as I can make
it." Trixter says as he plants a device on her face
" so once again. Really sorry about this and, you got one thing
on my record I am stealing. But I need to borrow one of your
time platforms so I can start the interrogation!"
Suddenly the flash appears and kicks trixter in the face
Trixter hops on his time pad and runs as the flash runs besides
him
"You killed mirror monarch! Why?!"
"He's only dead for now."
"For now?!"
" once I'm done everything will be set. And history will change.
Whatever I've had to do to keep you from solving this case will
be erased. My actions will have no consequences I've been very
careful to make sure of that."
" you can't change history. From what I've seen the 21st century
don't even know history." The flash says as he attempts to jump
on the platform
Trixter sees this and shoots him with acid knocking him off
" I do know it. And I know you're trying to change history too.
But opening up this case you're going back in time."
" by opening up this case we're correcting all wrong! There's an
innocent man in prison!"
"And your damning my future!"
"Que?"
" you don't understand how it works in the 25th Century! I
worked all my life to be a member of the Renegades! But if any
one of your ancestors has a criminal record, your blacklisted.
Iris has already found an inconsistency with one of the
witnesses. A man named report she tells you. You'll find him.
You find the real killer that couple. He's arrested. Imprisoned.
And he's my ancestor. Wasn't charged completely his background
check on them this batch will be ripped away from me!"
" so this isn't about keeping your ancestor out of prison? It's
about your job application!"
The Flash says as he runs on the side of a building and grabs
trixters leg pulling them both through the window
" I don't deserve to be a criminal for something my ancestor
did!"
" no you deserve to be labeled a criminal because of what you've
done!"
"Once I go back none of this will have happened!"
The two land
"I'll still be a hero!"
The Flash stands and kicks him
" my hero! I hear I would have traveled in time to keep an
innocent out of prison. I hear I would have stopped the answers
are from committing murder in the first place. Instead you came
up with an elaborate plan to preoccupy The Flash Barry Allen
couldn't do his job?"
Trixter makes a ring of fire around him and the flash appears
next to him
" flash fact. I'm fast enough to do both."
"You can't touch me! Friction proof suits are standard!"
" notify face through you, take your spin from the suit and
shifting from drive to reverse at half the speed of light."
The flash phases through trixter and his suit explodes knocking
him out.
"Hold it flash!" The Renegades appear in a burst of blue light
" he's ours to arrest." Commander cold says
"You belive me?"
" we heard enough of this confession after Chasing the two of
you."
"So that's it no apology?"
"No. I respect what you do, but I'm also disappointed in you."
"Dissapointed in me?!"
" you have the power to travel in time, but you don't even try
to fix it. At least we are." They dissaper in a flash of blue
