Uncontrollable

After the school was evacuated, I just walked around town,
looking for something to do when I suddenly hear a bank alarm go
off. "Why is it that I only ever fight bank robbers." Some guy
with hula hoops all over him runs out. I run into an alleyway,
grab my suit out of my backpack, and fly after him. "Hey Hula
Hoop Man, watcha doing." "I-I'm the ringer!" He says shaking
his hand in the air, with a bag of about $11,000 dollars in it
other hand. "Ok well mr ringer I'll give you till three strikes
of my matches for you to return that money. He throws a ring
into a tall buildings window and runs in. "That's strike one!"
I light one of my matches. He then run up the buildings stairs,
cutting walls to try to get there rubble to fall on me. "Strike
two!" I light a second match. He reaches the top floor and I
follow. "Strike three!" I light the third match and throw all
three of them at him. As they hit him they engulf him in
flames. The flames die down, and he gets up and starts throwing
multiple rings. I dodge most of them but one hits my padded
plastic chest thingy that I wear and starts to freeze it. I
grab some of my string spray it on my chest and light it,
causing the ice to thaw out. I grab a full pack of matches and
light it. I throw it at the ringer and he dodges. I send the
flames straight toward him it hits him in the back
incapacitating him. I go to grab the money, until I see that I
may have overdone it with the flames. "Yea I don't think that
wall should be flaming like that the roof and floor probably
shouldn't be on fire either. Shit." I grab the ringer and the
money and fly them to the ground, using one of those ice rings
to freeze him to the ground. I see the fire spreading. "I need
to get the people out and try to control the fire." I fly
through the building grabbing as many people as I could. I
swore I'd see a blue flash every now and then. When everyone
was out, I tried condensing the fire enough, till the fire
department could get there. "How is it easier to fight with
fire then against it!" Just before I lose control, a ray of ice
blasts into the inferno and put the fire out.
I fall backwards (out of exhaustion) into a sitting
position when I see two blue people looking at me. "Arnt you
guys iceman and nightcrawler?" Nightcrawler speaks up. "Yes,
who are you?" "I'm zippo" Iceman interrupts us before anyone
can say anything "let's go to a more private spot before people
start accusing us of starting the fire, nightcrawler."
Nightcrawler grabs us both. "But I did start--" we teleport
outside the gates of Xavier's academy for the gifted. "--the
fire." "We know, so why did you?" "I was fighting that guy,
and I missed an attack or fifteen." "How did you get your
powers?" "They just kinda happened." "Yea your a mutant!" "Oh
that's what mutie means, oh wait... WHAT!" "I know it may be
hard getting used to everything, but you'll come to accept it."
"NO I WONT! THIS IS A DEATH SENTENCE!" I take my welder helmet
off and hold my head in my hands. "How my parents aren't
mutants! "There's a lot of genetic mumbo jumbo we don't know
about. If you would like to find out more, come back here
tommorow." "T-thanks." I pull a match out and fly back to my
house.

I change out of my costume on the roof of my house and walk into
my room. "I'm not going, I can't, no one else knows. Well
other then Donovin. Hopefully he doesn't speak as fast as he
moves. It not that I hate them, I just can't be apart of them.
I'm in a good group of people, what will happen if they find
out." I hear a knock at the door. "Louie you ok?" Crap my
mom. "I'm fine mom, I just need to be alone right now." "Ok
honey just talk to me I f you need me.

2 MONTHS LATER
I heard sirens outside, and I'm stuck here in class. What is
this class again? I bet The avengers don't need to deal with
this.
"LOUIE!!!"
"Huh! Oh I was listening!"
"Then what did I say"
"You said... Sciency things?"
"THIS IS ENGLISH CLASS!"
3 HOURS LATER
"Finally! It took long enough!"
I run out the school doors and run into the nearby alleyway and
change into my costume, now equipped with a fire blanket for a
cape. I fly out of the alley and folliow the sound of sirens to
four extremely muscular men holding...
"what the hell is that?"
The odd metal object flys at me and smashes me through a window,
making me drop my tool belt in the process. I get up and fell
the building start to shake. It crumbles around me I jump out
the window and reach for a match... That was in the belt...
Shit...
"Whoaaaaaaaaahhhhh"
"You can stop screaming now"
I look up and see nightcrawler holding my belt.
"Oh uhm how long have we been here."
"About 5 minutes"
"Oh, well um thanks, can I have my belt back now."
"Sure but can you come back to the mansion."
"I'm not join--"
I see the mansion (and a bald man in a wheelchair in front of me
of me.
"--ing."
"Oh, Zippo right, I'm professor Xavier, head of this institute."
"You mean the one I'm not going to join."
"I know you don't want to join but think of what you could do.
You could unlock your full potential here."
"I don't care as long as I can keep the people I know safe."
"Well aren't you putting them in danger by not knowing how to
use your powers and possibly setting another building on fire."
"No!!!...yes... Maybe I dont know!"
"It is, I'm not asking you to move here, just learn, master your
gifts."
"well I don't know."
"It would replace your regular school, we teach the same
classes, while also having an extra class for mastering your
power."
"Wait, no school! I'm in!"

THE NEXT DAY
DANGER ROOM
"Well the first thing we need to do is make your suit safer.
All it really does is protect the outside world from you but
what if you fight someone with different powers?"
"I punch them in the face and burn them?"
"Well yes but they might get the first hit."
"Then I punch them in the face and burn them?"
"Once again not wrong, but if someone's really strong, you need
to rely on something to keep you from serious injury. Plus that
costume looks like a firefighter dressing up for holoween."
"Don't we all look like we're dressing up for holoween?"
"Yes but now you can look like yourself on holoween and not a
firefighter."
"If you say so."
"Ok while we make your new costume, we will test your powers, I
will be in that room up there with a few other mutants,
observing your progress okay?"
"Yeah"
I put on my utility belt and let jean have the rest of my
costume. She walks out the door to the room. I hear her voice
over the intercom.
"Ok Louie can you hear me?"
"Yea, and are you sure I won't burn down the building?
"Yes it's hard for wolverine to claw his way out of there so you
should be fine."
"Yea but metal scratches metal, I burn it."
A new voice is heard over the intercom.
"Are you saying your better then me bub!"
"No no no, I never said that! I was just stating a scientific
fact!"
"The fact is you better shut up or we won't have a new student
to train."
"Yes sir! Please don't kill me!"
"It depends on how well you do here, name a villain, any
villain."
"Uhm... I don't know."
"Fine I'll choose one for you."
Suddenly juggernaut appears infornt of me and the room shifts
into a crowded street, full of fleeing people.
"Oh shit!"
"Nobody stops the juggernaut!"
He charges me and I roll out of the way.
"What the hell is going on!"
"GROAHHHHH!"
Okay, think that suit protects him from all kinds of damage. I
gotta aim for the mouth and eyes.
He charges me again as I get a match and a can of fire string
out, I light the match and use that fire to boost me on top of
this metal bohemeth. I spray the string in his eyes and light
it. He falls to the ground imeddiatly and I grab a nearby fire
extinguisher from one of the buildings to put him out. As I do
this, both he, the extinguisher, and the surroundings fade back
into the danger room.
"That was amazing"
Jean is heard over the intercom.
"Great job Louie! Not only did you beat him, you kept the
civilian casuilties low. Next time though, try not to perform
potentially fatal attacks."
"Yea I guess I over reacted."
"Well guess what..."
She enters the room.
"Your new costume is ready!"

I follow Jean out of the room and stare at a new sleeker blue
costume with flame decals covering both the arms and legs. It
has a new utility belt with the famous x symbol on each pocket,
and a new fire blanket where a cape would be.
"This looks awesome!"
"Try it on."
A few minutes after I enter a changing room I come out with the
new costume on.
"This is awesome but I got a question, how will this protect me
from my fire?"
"Well look at your arm."
I look down to see nightcrawler holding a candle right next to
my skin.
"Why isn't this hurting me?"
"You have built up a resistance to heat. You won't be diving
into any hot magma, but you won't feel anything when being
touched by a normal fire."
"So this whole time I was wearing that bulky suit for nothing?"
Nightcrawler speaks up.
"Pretty much."
Jean grey hands me an odd mask that only covers my mouth and
eyes.
"This will help you breath in those hot conditions. The gas
from the fire can still affect you, even if the fire doesn't.
This is kinda like a gas mask."
"I really like this."
nightcrawler speaks again.
" you need one more thing."
"What?"
"A new name!"
"What I like zippo."
"Really? It kinda sounds weird."
"Like nightcrawler is much better?"
"Hey! At least I don't sound like a lighter!"
"Whatever well what did you have in mind?"
"Hmm... How about inferno!!!"
"That's... That's actually kinda cool, thanks"
Xavier comes into the room.
"Well inferno, I believe the school day is over. You should
head home."
"Oh yea thanks see you later prof.!"
I run out the door and fly back to my house.
