Unfortunately whilst JP's app is superb it has made PF'ing very
easy. You can search by position and form cards and you can
relist all items in the trade pile with one click.
       [/quote]
Really? I didn't know that. That's even worse than I imagined it
to be. So working the market, and so PF-ing, has been reduced to
little more than search refining and the odd button click. Jeez,
       that's disappointing.

Never did use JPs app did my share through the web app
..concentrated on 10 players all year long and made my $$$.
did some bidding..but mostly buy low ,sell high method..never
       got greedy if I made 300 off a player..I consider that a
       profit..rinse and repeat.
90 percent of my trading involved silvers and bronzes. find your
market niche and stick with it.

I did almost the exact same. Just made nowhere near as much as
       t you guys...
Around 700k, but didn't start until January, and stopped
       bothering around TOTS start.
Took a few key Brazilians, bought them the cheapest I could
       find.
Listed them at inflated BIN prices, and waited.
Some mug came always along and bought them, and when they did I
immediately went and replaced them again with the cheapest BIN.
Made about 4-6k a day doing that, but had the web app open all
day while working, so I could re-list hourly.
Just had to check my prices every few weeks if things slowed up,
and I'd find that the market had dropped a chunk, leaving mine
just a bit too over priced. :)
       Rolling stock.
I found you have to find a good price point, for this method.
Cheaper players, people are prepared to pay over the odds for
       more often.
Expensive players at over hiked BINs don't shift, because people
become more vigilant, the more they are spending.

I've made some decent coins on bronze IFs and pricey NIFs this
year. Just opportunism, there's much less competition in the
market and the low card type sees them get listed for peanuts
quite often. If I could be bothered to keep on top of them then
I'm sure I'd have done very well out of it.

I am guessing my approach wouldn't work in the bronze market.
I sense it is more specialised, and the buyers know what they
are buying and how much to pay.
As opposed to a lot of bronze sellers, who, as you suggest, just
think bronzes are shit and therefore almost give them away!
My approach in the gold brazilian market is targeting muppet
teenagers, who are often in a rush, or just don't give a shit
       half the time. 8)
I expect you need to know bronzes to make money out of bronzes,
as it's all about buying at the right price, whereas my approach
is about selling at the right (or rather the wrong, over
       inflated) price ;D

Silvers are incredibly easy to trade and a good way at the start
of the game is investing in IFs just as they're about to go out
of packs, works really well up until the TOTY comes out.

JPs app is actually brilliant for it. There's not too many
bronze IFs so you can search 'all in-forms' at max 64 rating and
have them all on one nice navigable screen. Click on whichever
one and see their listings, back, click on another etc. If you
do it often enough then you get to know loads of individual
prices and will always pick up some bargains. When it comes to
selling then there's plenty of times when hardly any are on the
market and you can sell for a stupid price. I picked up an IF
Thauvin when a few were about, 10k in> 18k out. My brother sold
one a couple of days later for 38k or something.

Only thing about his app Cuz is that it makes consumables so
easy to price fix which is damn annoying.

Actually made a lot of my coins from buying and selling silver
teams for a few months. Buy cheap, use till bored, sell for
more. With about 4 teams on rotation it was easy trading. Don't
have to rush build so you can just wait for bargains, don't have
to get bored trading a niche because you move it according to
       the next build.

I honestly don't think it's had that big of an impact, PFing has
grown exponentially every year. The greatest thing about the app
is that you don't have to compete for consumables, just keep
looking for the lowest BIN on what you're after, if it's not low
       enough, wait.

I have just remembered, I also spent a period early on buying
       and selling Afellay.
Bought 57 of them at LW, and 57 LW>LM modifiers, and converted
them to LM and sold them.
Not all at once obviously... over a period of time.
Made over 100k on that little exercise. Bit tedious though. :D
