So both are graphically crap compared to high end PCs, is that
the gist?
Frankly, I couldn't give a monkeys. I'm getting a PS4 at some
point and that's that.
Gaming PCs are for people that like to sit in darkened rooms
with headsets on, coordinating their movements with the rest of
their team in unbelievably complex squad games or for sociopaths
who play fantasy MMOs in full costume. For DAYS. Single people
in other words.

yes that and the fact that ps4 will obtain you said crappy
comparison graphics 50x as fast as the sloth-like Xbox One.
There was also a notion put out that developers would not make
PS4 games better looking than Xbox One games so they didnt piss
off Microsoft, despite this 50x advantage, bummer.

Once I knew I was getting a PS4 I stopped reading up on specs
etc. not really too fussed just buying the console I prefer :P

Its same for me as well Carlos. If it did come out that PS4 was
widely acknowledged to be better in most of the crucial elements
then i would probably switch. But you will never reach that
consensus, just reading that article its always PS4 seems to be
better at this but on other hand Xbox could be better at this.
Apparently nothing is confirmed until the consoles are released
either. So like you say, just stick to what you know and love.
Plus, what do Edge know anyway, their magazines are all style
and no substance.

I didn't read anything was better on xbox...
Both consoles specs wise are really disappointing if you think
about it, 8 years ago ps3 had better specs then you could have
on your pc, the next gen has less then my pc currently has..if
only game developers made games for my linux setup and I would
switch to pc gaming (natural in a darkened rooms with headsets
on ;))
the console as a media player isn't a selling point for me, my
pc can handle that better then any console ever could

Well Beuk i cant say that surprises me :D but surely this
developers opinion from that article counts

And yep that pretty much means jackshit to me but a victory is a
victory right, whatever it may be :) but thats partly my point,
its all he said she said, who really cares? you will buy a ps4
and i will buy an xbox one and the world will continue to spin
as per normal ;)

Thats pure theoretical, when will a game render raytracing with
a lot of memory writes and not use much texturing?
*shakes head in disbelieve*
Not buying the new console at the release so I have time to see
how things develop

Given the recent information regarding cod, bf and titianfall
only running at 720 and not 1080 I am somewhat concerned about
the capabilities of the xbox one. It was always going to be
slightly less powerfull given the differences in ram, however I
would expect a next gen console to run at 1080 full hd from the
get go. The 360 runs at 720, and that's 7 years old. The
information from both Microsoft and the games companies seems to
be contradictory so a bit more investigation is required.
I am loath to cancel but I do need to be reassured that this is
a blip and that once the new setup is better understood there
will be less difference between the two consoles, even the wii U
can run at 1080.

Indeed surprising the new gen doesn't have fullhd from the start
