I just heard that EA announced that BF4 will be released for the
PS4 on 29 October...slip of the tongue or false information?
That would mean that the PS4 will be released at or before that
date. :D

Still a fuckin ugly old box tho.
Interesting that developers wouldn't be too keen to create a
superior game for one console over the other. Makes sense of
course but it does make the manufacturers rivalry look a bit
daft.

Lol. Mine did see a few hours of COD some months ago. Just
concerned I might cut myself unpacking it.

why is this reminder just for my benefit? :P
ok so read it started out sounding good for PS4, very good I
mean this sentence is kinda ridiculous:
PlayStation 4 is currently around 50 per cent faster than its
rival Xbox One. Multiple high-level game development sources
have described the difference in performance between the
consoles as “significant” and “obvious.”
After that it went on to say xbox has some advantages too and
that the specs arent fixed at this stage and then just began to
bore me a little.
Then you read more stuff like this:
“The poor [graphics] drivers have made it difficult to push
either of them, and the developers aren’t familiar with the
hardware yet,“
and i almost find myself back at the point where it comes down
to personal preference, which for me would always be xbox.
Does make you wonder if the smart option is to hold off till
next year when the developers have figured out what to do and
the spec on the console's is done and dusted. Kinda makes it
sound like they will be updating them even after release, which
if you ask me is a tad fucked up.

Made me do some digging and i stumbled upon some techy minded
people's forum. Found this interesting comment? Im assuming
(with good reason) that these guys know a helluva lot more than
i do.
Right...so even IF newer games support 8 cores/thread, which is
a good thing, will it even MATTER? I mean, a 2500k could do two
things on a single core and still be much faster than next-gen.
So I guess what I'm getting at is that the 8-core CPU in
next-gen really doesn't mean anything. Sony and MS could have
just slapped a dual core Intel or AMD in next-gen and we'd still
have the same, if not better, performance.
I don't know...I just find it kind of disappointing that not
only is next-gen's graphic performance equal to a current
mid-range desktop GPU but that the CPU's aren't even comparable
to a 7 year old Intel Q6600...not even close!
Like, how does Sony and MS even expect these CPU's to last 8+
years? They are already underpowered compared to what we had
desktop wise when current gen consoles CAME OUT!!!

Happy to go with this fella's comment, in particular the last
sentence.
“Ten years ago, you could argue that a console’s power was
summed up in terms of a few of its specs, but Xbox One is
designed as a powerful machine to deliver the best blockbuster
games today and for the next decade.
Xbox One architecture is much more complex than what any single
figure can convey. It was designed with balanced performance in
mind, and we think the games we continue to show running on
near-final hardware demonstrate that performance. In the end,
we’ll let the consoles and their games speak for themselves.”
