how is second man press ? would it help on the opponents half ?

pong passing, eventough you would try to close the passing
lanes, opponent can pass their way out.[/font]

I hardly ever use it. Maybe once today for about 2-3 seconds so
far in eleven games. It's all about the charged up standing
tackle for me. With a strong defender to opponents 99% of the
time, weaker striker gets destroyed. Only see Ibra walk through
them so far which is how things should be. Have enjoyed the zig
zag runners getting frustrated and sliding about so far today.
I'm not a great defender by any means but have had success
getting tight on opponents speedy forwards and simply destroying
them with a charged up tackle. With a good strong defender, the
radius is big and the forward just gets eased of the ball or
completely destroyed. Extremely rare to get even a booking from
mistiming one, a lot of the time the refs don't even do
anything.

Raining here this morning. All plans put on hold means I can
(for the time being) continue with the wonders of WL.
1-8 now after quitting whilst 1-0 up against a pauser/changer,
and of course another red card.
I'm loving this ...

Pretty standard stuff. Went from 8-4 to 8-10 this evening. My
keepers didn't save a shot in 4 games ffs. All but one of those
games I had more shots, one of them 19 to 4 in my favour. Lost
that 3-2. So many games decided by the keepers. In that one his
keeper made at least three point blank wonder saves, whilst mine
just lets in anything.
Luckily managed to get two wins to end and am 10-10. The new
thing this week seems to be the battle every team has to get
into position for the sweet spot long shots. The 25 yard long
shot across the keeper or the edge of box finesse shots from the
central area on the edge of the box. Much less of the one two
through ball spam. They all seem to want to try and hit long
shots from the exact same spot every game.

Good job ... I'm not too good at the moment. I can FEEL the lack
of skill in an opponent ... but yet it's a full-on struggle.
Yep - all the psycho mumbo-jumbo getting to me.

I know exactly what you mean. Opponents you are totally
outplaying, but you can only score two goals at most, and after
his keeper makes miracle saves and defenders crazy last ditch
blocks, he gets two goals completely out of nowhere after 70
minutes or so!

Have won the first 2 games of the morning. Only need 10 wins
from 16 games ... to get to 18. LOL.

After that - 2 losses - par for the course.
Kid had a game and a half - lost both those and was too tilted
to play again. We did go out with family, so that certainly
"helped" not having to play further.
Afternoon session ... weird one. Started at 8 wins with
something like 13 games left. I quit one (another red card!) but
was 2-0 up and concede 3 in the space of 10 min :o :o. Then ...
• Convincing win 3 or 4 nil.
• 1-0 up (15th min or something) after his POTM Mane has missed
(ballooned) an absolute sitter, but then gets a penalty. Quits
or, gets disconnected.
• 1-2 down - 30th-odd min - another opponent disconnect. Ok ...
no loss, will take that.
• 2-0 up (me 2 shots on goal, him - about 10!) after 30-ish
minutes. Not sure if it's a disconnect or if he was just tilted.
So, 11 wins now with 9 to play.
Best weekend league EVER!. Not. ::)

What an absolute joke it was last night. Moved on to 12-10 so
was looking good to auto qualify. Then lost 8 games in a row!
Almost everyone I was ahead. Almost every one I had double to
shots of the opponents. It was just stupid. When I managed to
lose 5-4 despite having 23 shots to my opponents 6, I knew that
wouldn't get 18 wins. Some of the stuff going on was so
contrived. Then when I needed four wins from six games, I start
winning, passes start going where I want them. But of course
some utter nonsense occurs and after Begovic makes six point
blank saves, your defender is unable to control the simplest
ball and you concede when your keeper get nutmegged.
The amount of two goal leads I lost, mainly involving 90th
minute goals, or goals straight from kick off when the opponent
can pass around and your entire team acts like a bunch of idiots
is simply crazy.
Ended up 17-23. Not one single game went to a penalty shoot out
in the 40. It almost feels like there's something going on in
the game to prevent it. Just a complete mess of a game at the
moment.
It almost feels like there's times when you concede and there's
not a damn thing you can do to stop it.

Damn mate. That's bad! Unlucky on only being 1 short - but
still, that just sucks.
Finished on 13 wins myself ... this was a definitely the worst
there was.
One aspect that stood out for me, that I am literally speechless
on, is passing. As you say, some games you have 100% pass
accuracy, even though you don't deserve it. Others, you're think
WTF! as a simple 10-yard basic pass balloons out wide where you
lose the ball in a bad spot - either concede, or corner, and
then concede.
And, this is beyond me having a mental breakdown. I wish I could
have the full replay - with that training crap on - supposedly
showing where I am aiming my passes.
On another note - spent the remainder of the evening catching up
on Squad Battles games. Kinda enjoyable as at least that takes
out the "delinquent cnut" aspect.
