Gold Cup number 20:
HTML http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/11152138/
Two new nationalities, Belarus and Honduras completed, and two
new cubs also crossed off, Montreal Impact and FC Dallas.
I've never liked the 41212 formation on Fifa. Never got on with
it. Started slowly with this team but soon started to enjoy
them. Never thought I'd say that about this formation!
The attack was great. Drogba got goal all over the place. Really
like him (and his scorpion kick abilities!). Higuain I didn't
get the best out of. Can finish though! Think I'd do better with
him as a sole striker, in 4231 or maybe with a good CF behind
him. Also had IF Piatti behind them at CAM. He is a very good
and i guess massively overlooked player. 4* skills and weak
foot, good at passing, can finish and good dribbling.
The two wide players were ok, nothing more. Both quick but much
better wingers to use.
At CDM, I had Enzo Perez making a second winning team
appearance. He is great. Can do everything very well. All round
god on this game.
The defence was a bit of a worry when I made the team. I had two
silvers. Figueroa at LB, who was good, apart from the occasional
shocking first touch. However at CB I had Egor Filipenko of
Belarus who got a big upgrade over the winter. He's big, which
is not the norm for BBVA centre backs. I cannot state adequately
how good this guy was. I'd say he is one of the best defenders
I've used, which is strange considering he's 73 rated. He won so
many tackles, was great in the air, and is probably benefiting
somehow from EA's random maxing out of certain stats on
upgrades. Recommended.
Florenzi is a very good attacking full back.
The weak link was IF Kameni in goal. Lets in so many stupid
goals, especially long shots. Just looks so small in the goal.
His saving grace is that he is capable of making miraculous
saves, but not really worth the bother.

Gold Cup 21 with this team last night:
HTML http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/11392558/
Peru and Trinidad & Tobago done off the nations list, Bologna,
Palermo, Braga and League 2 (Barnet and Bristol Rovers) done and
and dusted for clubs.
Took a while to do it with this team. There were just too many
dodgy players I think. None were worse than IF Sorrentino in
goal. This guy lets in so many weak shots and shots that should
be easily saveable. Do not buy him!
Tom Parkes and Chris Lines were obviously not the best, although
IF Gavin Hoyte played much better than I expected and was
decent.
Bonucci is a solid CB as ever, Zuniga was dangerous down the
left in attack from full back. Sturaro is a decent all round CM.
Would have been good one to use at the start when coins are
tight.
TIF Slimani scored a load of goals and is excellent as a target
man. Carrillo I have used a lot now and is a huge danger on the
right. His 5* skills flow incredibly easily he can easily beat a
degender and he can finish. On the left, Rafa was ok. Nothing
special and not a great finisher.
IF Adrien Silva pulled the strings at CM and is a good
playmaker. Has big stamina issues though.

Another success tonight. Gold Cup 22 being won with Austria and
the football powerhouse, Luxembourg , being new nations used. A
few new teams, Racing Club, Boca Juniors, Westerlo and Werder
Bremen, also complete.

Ea making things more difficult again. Now Bristol City and

Damn ... simply adding to that challenge.
If you had to estimate, how much % do you think you're on, for
clubs & countries?

I've done 81 out of 148 countries, and 136 out of 275 clubs with
gold players I think! That's just a quick count up from the 1st
page and might be slightly off.
There are leagues that don't have gold players such as League 2
that I have completed, but have they aren't included in that
club total. Also a few clubs I've used that don't have gold
players such as Mordovia Saransk and Waasl-Beveren that I've had
to use for chemistry or because they have a different
nationality, in Beveren's case, Luxembourg.
I'm not a long way from winning the number of cups I won in the
whole of 15 already, so hopefully more progress to be made yet.
As long as I don't go 17 finals in a row without winning one
like last year!

Mozambique and Norway ticked off the nations list, Wolfsburg,
Hertha Berlin and Atalanta done from the clubs.
SIF Max Kruse was very enjoyable to use and was an excellent
false 9. Also enjoyed IF Diamanti, and Skjelbred did
surprisingly well at LCM. My untradable Thiago Silva also was
excellent in defence. Mexer next to him was a good NR and Costil
in goal performed extremely well in goal, and is a good cheap
French option.

Gold Cup winners 24:
HTML http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/12650623/
Some dodgy players, but a team I had fun with.
IF Bonatini and Gerso were pretty poor at striker and left
winger. Bonatini isn't the best finisher and Gerso just didn't
do much at all. At RW, Jesus Corona was good. A 5* weak foot was
very handy and he was very good on the ball.
The midfield was solid. Roberto Firmino excelled as the more
attacking of the three and was the top scorer in the team. Got
into excellent positions and able to finish them. Hector Herrera
was a nice surprise. Didn't expect much but got goals and
assists regularly. Emre Can was a decent CDM, but knackered by
90 minutes.
The defence was ok. Alberto Moreno is a big danger going forward
and is like having a winger at LB. The RB was Paul Aguillar who
I got as an untradable on the very first day of 16. Perfectly
fine at RB and helped cover for the very slow but usable Rafael
Marquez. Despite his 34 pace, don't recall him being done for
pace apart from once, which isn't bad in 30 odd games. Martin
Skrtel was rock solid, but the defence was massively helped by
the man behind them. IF Alfredo Talavera is a very good keeper.
One of the best I've used. Not something I expected to be saying
before I used him.
The best thing about this team was that although IF Bonatini
didn't really perform, he got double figure goals and assists,
as did Corona, Herrera and Firmino. Goals came from all over in
this team.
Guinea-Bissau and Slovakia crossed off the nations list,
Estoril, Liverpool, Atlas, America and Toluca off the clubs
list.

Gold Cup number 25 won with this:
HTML http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/12878068/
Guam and Ecuador completed in the nations list, Espanyol on the
clubs list.
Think 433(2) is proving to be my favourite formation again this
year. Also have success with 4321 and 4312 but those are narrow
and not as enjoyable to play with. Often just become clustered
messes.
This team was nice. IF Caicedo I've used a few times now in
featured tournaments without actually winning them. Has a good
left foot and is so so strong. The wingers were decent. Tello is
very good and Montanes is good with the ball but maybe lacks the
finishing.
Iniesta is Iniesta. Great player. Gerrard is also a favourite of
mine and is allround very good. De Jong did a good job at CDM.
Ashley Cole still plays very well dispute his massively reduced
stats nowadays. Bellerin is rapid at RB, but lacks something.
Whatever that something is, being FUT, his pace gets him by. Van
Dijk is a decent CB. He tackles with force. His standing tackles
seem to smash the ball off opponents like I've rarely seen from
other CB's. His TOTS would be good to use I think, and was the
plan to put him in this team, but no need now.
IF Fraser Forster is very good in goal. His size definitely
helps. And AJ DeLaGarza. LOL! shouldn't have worked but was
never seriously tested. If I'd played anyone with a Manzukic and
the knowledge of how to use him, it could have got messy, buy
people trying to run straight through mostly didn't test him.
