It's amazing how some names just stick by you! Nice one mate!
       I remember F1 - loved Williams & Mansell ... think purely
because my brother was a Prost fan. Couldn't stand him & by
default Ferrari - even though I actually loved Ferrari.
One Saturday afternoon - thought I would test out my endurance -
decided to race a full length race. Can't remember the track but
it was around the 72-lap mark. :o
I do remember it rained too, so had to concentrate real hard ...
Dismal race although I did finish it! Not even in the points!
But, I was exhausted after that. Switched off and went to bed
early ... was too knackered to do anything else. Don't think I
played the game for the next week either.
       Oh the days!

was an avid f1 fan those years ... in that game schumi was in
benetton ... now thinking about it, that game was very advanced,
you could 'slip stream' and get a speed boost if you were
following an opponent closely ... also there were settings for
front back wings, tyres etc ...
i played monza many times, i still remember the track , the S
shaped schigane after the start/finish line, or the track in san
marino .. hated silverstone ... spa was very difficult,
hoffenheim or nurburring one of them had long straight parts,
boring to race , but easy for reaching top speed...
i also played full races, couple of times, once went with
damages on, recall it was really frustrating if you hit a wall
       after 40 laps : )
have you guys ever played it multi player offline?

I used to play full races in the F1 game. Renamed all the
drivers to people in my class at school! Used to like watching
the crashes when the message popped up saying someone was out of
       the race.
Biggest memory of that game was the Canadian GP which I think
was one of the first races. There were a few yellow flags but
when round a couple of corners in a twisty bit without slowing
down. After the second corner, it seemed like 80% of the cars in
the race were strewn across the track and there was no avoiding
them. That was the end of my race!

I think that race game was GP2, it had Schumacher in the
Benetton with Verstappen next to him. it was really advanced,
you could even run down telemetry to see were you lost time
compared to others in practise. Canada was the third race of the
season (after Brasil and Argentina), I managed to finish a full
race third at Imola at the second highest setting, all aid was
turned off, Imola was the only track were you didn't have big
brake corners and reasonable other lines cornering, the AI
seemed to drive on rails in the corners. I remember I picked up
GP4 a couple of years later, turned of the aid right away,
started driving Imola and wrecked the car in turn 2, they
completely changed the first corners ;D

Also you could never beat European teams in the European Cup
       [/quote]
       Nothing has changed then :P

There was another F1 game that came out a few years after. It
was much more arcade, but I remember playing split screen with a
school mate that lived a few minutes from me. The speed you
could get on the straight at Barcelona made it hard for the game
to keep up with itself! We played so many games over one school
holiday. Used to play this split screen game where you had to
hunt each other down on a map. You opened doors around the place
to get power ups. We used to tape this big bit of cardboard down
the middle of the monitor so that we couldn't see what was
happening on the other persons screen.

Damn ... those videos ... nostalgia.
Amazing how much we enjoyed it - especially given how 'old' the
2nd one is! But boy, did we have fun!
Another game that was so cool, was Stunts. Think it may have
been one of the first games that I played from a 'stiffy' disk -
that whopping 1.44MB disk that did not bend.
Showed the kid Stunts the other day. That windscreen break :D

Is that the same as this? Probably one of the hardest games i've
played. You couldn't afford any mistakes at all.

beuk man : ) those videos , esp the GP2 one, brought back
memories, the menu photos , background music, sounds woow just
       wow ...
its 20 years and i remembered all very clearly ... i also recall
that i was turning down all visual effects (getting rid of trees
other stuff around etc) because my pc was a slow one, i needed
       more processing power ...
while checking those on youtube... found that one ... talent is
       permanent...

Wow. I know there may have been some assistance in there, but
his whole demeanour (concentration) & lack of head movement
throughout the laps was very impressive!!!
       Thanks for sharing that mate.
