We need to make a "those were the days" old games/computers
thread. I could go on for hours with the number of games I
had/played on Spectrum 128k and Amiga 500+!

Ooh ... Microprose ... now that was a software company! Good ol'
Sid Meier!!!
Microprose Soccer ... yeah, the name, but I loved it!
Silent Service - never forget this one - my brother and I had
one amazing mission - must've sunk about 30 ships after
re-fueling/arming a few times.
F-19 Stealth Fighter ... my first real love for a flight sim.
Pirates! ... they revived this on Xbox 360, but on C-64 was
better (even though it was older)
Onto Railrood Tycoon, then the Civ series ... just goes on!

Microprose Soccer I wasn't a fan of but played the F1 game
loads.
There were a few Man Utd games. There was a terrible one on
Spectrum where there was an arrow going up and down the edge of
the screen of the goal you were attacking which is where your
shot would go, one that came out on Amiga after they beat Barca
in the Cup Winner Cup Final called Man Utd Europe where you
could play any of the then three European tournaments. That one
wasn't bad to be honest.
Then there was another that was a copy of Sensible Soccer and
you would always get sent off for going in late on the keeper.
That wasn't great, best one was definitely Man Utd Europe.
There was also a Liverpool game but that was terrible.

My first football game was Italia'90, I also played that
micropose soccer game, on both you had angels that every shot
was a goal, mind you fifa'96 had those angels too and you could
steer the ball after shooting :D
Never played the English CM, the Dutch version had 18 year old
wonderkid Ronaldo in it, I believe we could play the Dutch,
Belgium or Italian league, the 97/98 version was the first one
you could play with more leagues at once.
Wasn't the f1 game earlier? ('92) don't know if it was the same
game but you could choose between ferrari, williams or mclaren,
The Williams was the fastest because irl Mansell/Piquet were
too.
Looks like we all liked the same games back then ;D

Omg. I was having a conversation with my friends on this earlier
as well. Chris Bart Wiliams was a favourite. I believe then you
could try to buy some overseas internationals like Gazza, David
Platt, Des Walker and Trevor Stevens.
Also you could never beat European teams in the European Cup

I remember getting CM Italia. Had some weird bug where after
about 5 seasons nobody could buy or sell any players at all,
because all the spare squad slots would be filled by players up
from the youth team. Every single team would have a full squad
at the start of a season. Did actually make it quite interesting
in that you had to use just your own home grown players after a
while and one particular save it gave me my most prolific
strikers on any of the first CM1 games. Can still remember his
name. Francesco Mannini!
