yeah, are you listening to talksport too?
Just mentioned that there and they reckon that the fact Utd have
made a 2nd bid and that Moyes has confirmed it means they must
have got some kind of encouragement from Barca or the player.
I wonder if Villanova leaving will hinder or help chances of
       signing him.

As a Utd supporter and someone who thinks Cesc is a quality
player, I'm not too impressed that we'd spend 30M+ on him.
Fellaini would rather be someone to target. Not sure if Moyes is
not allowed to do so though.

Can see Arsenal coming in at the last minute and activating
       their clause

       Suarez to Arsenal :P
City have bought very well IMO, overpaid for the players they
have got in but if they all click then they will be super tough
       to beat
       [/quote]
       If they click.
I fully expect City to struggle early doors.
It takes time to bed in new players, and they insist on a
       relentless policy of player recruitment.
I could be wrong. Hope not. ;D

I think he's probably allowed to do so but was discussing this
with my bro at weekend (he's a Utd fan), I think Moyes needs
some kind of a marquee signing to give Utd fans a shot in the
arm amidst the Rooney saga and the uncertainty of a new manager
coming in and fact that City and others have been spending.
I think in order to get the fans onboard fully he needs to get a
big name, not someone who used to play for Everton, thats too
obvious, makes out that he lacks imagination/inspiration to
identify players able to play for Utd so just turns to the guys
he knows. Ordinarily Fellaini would be a great signing for most
teams inc Utd i just dont think he's perhaps top of the list for
       the reasons Ive just listed.
Agree with Lewis, not that its my job to manage the books at
City but happy with the players we have got, but would like to
have picked them up for about 5m less than reported for both of
them. Hopefully reports are exaggerated, everyone likes a 'City
offered 30m for a player worth 15m' story.

Yep i agree Utd need a big signing to get the fans onside and
believing in Moyes. I can't see Cesc leaving Barca but if he
does then my money would be a return to Arsenal. And City's
money and slight overpaying is the reason they get deals done so
quickly... instead of haggling over 2/3mil in a fee they just
       pay it
