I am a lifelong Arsenal fan and this offseason just shows ow
fickle the game is
1. RVP always wanted out and he ha NO REASON to scorch the earth
on the way out . i lost all respect for him once he issued his
statement
2. Suarez - I think he would be an outstanding add for Arsenal
. he is the right type of footballer for them . As far as off
the field stuff , i no longer care as long as my guys perform
on the field
3. Fabregas - If we need any reminders of the new football
environment , then all we need to do is see what Fab does . A
guy that talked about his dream move giving up o it so soon ,
would be a huge indication that nothing is sacred anymore
4. The striker merry-go - round is just waiting fr the first
domino to fall . I hope its Higuain to Naples . I think he
is a good player , but his RM days and willingness to play
second fiddle make me leery of his hunger . i think RM are
collecting cash to launch a full on assault on Bale . I think
they are not looking for another ST , but I could be wrong .

Intersting thoughts Wclass.

3) Yes agree, you make a good point there. Personally i think
Fabregas will stay at Barca, i think Utd are wasting time here.
So far their transfer window has been as bad as Arsenal's.
4) Higuain is joining Napoli it seems certain. I do agree and
have read that Madrid have/are taking in a lot of cash selling
off a lot of these guys for that very purpose. I think Madrid
are making a bad move here. I think they should have got by
till next season without him then made their move. There was a
suggestion they are only moving now as Utd were rumoured to be
going after him. I think Bale is very happy to stay at Spurs
this season and only think Madrid will piss Spurs off if they go
in hard now. They will undo the good foundations that they
have spent last few months laying.
If its an 80m bid tho, Spurs simply cant turn that down.
Ronaldo money, Spurs would be crazy to refuse it surely if it
was true.

1. Understandably.
2. The guy is off the rails. Wouldn't want him at my club. You
say off the field... but the alleged racism and biting was on
the field... Bans cost the team.
3. I don't think Fabregas would go anywhere but Arsenal - in the
BPL at least. Utd are wasting their time. Even if Barca did
want to sell, which they apparently don't.
4. I would take £80m for Bale... right now. Will he ever hit
the heights of last season again? That is my main concern to be
honest. Cash in now I say, for top dollar. He wont go up in
value in my opinion... only potentially down if (big if) he
failed to re-produce...

1) made my feelings about him clear, hate the twat
2) I'm willing to give him a fresh start. Wenger sorted out
Adams' drinking issues and Merson's drug problems so if anyone
can sort out Suarez then Wenger can.
3) If Cesc goes then Barca will have someone else lined up to
replace him, and they still need a CB so I cannot see him going.
Also Barca will know that as soon as they accept Utd's offer
then Arsenal can buy him for £25m so they will only get £25m for
a £40m player.
4) I think Bale will leave this summer, to madrid

Like I said when talking Bale yesterday, with the way Spurs/AVB
have spoken about him it looks like he won't be leaving but I
would love to see what AVB could do to the side with an extra
£80m..

RVP gave all this crap about 'the little inside him screaming
for Utd' and 'Arsenal have no ambition' (despite the fact we
signed, Poldo, Giroud and Cazorla). Basically he made his
position at the club untenable by saying that the club he was
CAPTAIN of have no ambition, unacceptable imo and once that
statement came out he was always off. Why he made the statement
I don't know, I guess he got fed of waiting and took the easy
option to join Utd and win trophies, can I understand why? Yes I
can... Does it mean I don't think he is a c***, Judas, twat
whatever else? No, I hate his guts.
[/quote]
RVP was right, Poldo and Carzola are okay players nothing more
nothing less, not good enough for the top teams in Europe but
usefull for teams below that. Giroud is not even that, I could
name 100 strikers with more quality then him...
RVP last year with Arsenal was his best season ever, despite the
lack of quality of the team he single-handedly shot the team to
the CL. The level of football was the worst I ever saw Arsenal
play under Wenger, no good build up play just getting the ball
to v. Persie and hope he delivers which he did.
RVP was right that those signings wouldn't win Arsenal trophies,
with or without RVP a CL spot was the maximum they could achieve
last seasons.

1. As a top player playing for Trophies is reason enough IMO
2. How can Suarez be an outstanding signing for Arsenal? I used
to love watching Arsenal play, good position buildup, switching
players, good creativity exactly the team football I like to
see.
Suarez is the opposite, every team he plays in football is
rerouted to him, Liverpool, Ajax or My team Groningen, they all
made a tactic around him, just give him te ball, he does his
magic and hopefully you end up winning. It's nothing like
Arsenal used to want to play

we agree to disagree .
RVP was NOT right to trash the club on the way out . I have no
issue with him leaving . Ambition includes building a massive
stadium and shoring up your revenue streams so you can compete
over the longer term .
Suarez is a pretty complete footballer . I think the "build
around him " tactic is because he was surrounded by players who
were not on his level . I think his movement , awareness and
finishing fits very well with arsenal . I see some parallels to
Henrys playing style .
I am not one who expects or demands blind loyalty from players
, but RVPs statement was a poor decision .

Sorry Beuk but I cannot agree with what you said, Cazorla is a
bit more than 'okay' and one of the things RVP wanted was
someone to take the pressure of him - Giroud and Poldo are more
than capable backups. I understand why he left but the way he
did it was unacceptable and pretty twatish.

This is what liverpool should do. Sell Suarez for 45m.
Buy Eriksen, Alderweid and Yilmaz with the proceeds. Easy.

From BBC
Luis Suarez will be allowed to hold talks with Arsenal but
Liverpool have no intention of selling their striker until his
£50m-plus valuation is met.
Arsenal's club-record bid of £40m plus £1 was firmly rejected by
Liverpool but Suarez now wants to hold talks with the north
London club.
The approach triggered a clause in his contract that means he
has been told of the bid and can now talk to Arsenal.
But Liverpool will not sell him until Arsenal up their offer
significantly.

this feels like RVP all over again . If Suarez wants to leave
, he will . very little Liverpool can do other than take the
money as early as possible and strengthen quickly .
