FM 2014

I know there was another thread a while back, but so much easier
starting a new one :P.
Had a chat to the kid & he mentioned it would be great to start
5 years in the future, so you can see new AI generated players &
not have to deal with the same people never joining you, etc
etc.
So ... created a new game (not classic mode) - but used the
'fake player' names option. Had a large database of players
across 10-odd leagues with half of them playable. Joined West
Ham (I think) and immediately resigned. Then went on holiday -
one year at a time ... for 5 years, making sure saves were in
place - just in case.
Took about 4 hours for everything, including various saves, etc.
:o. Juts let it run though whilst doing other bits on the PC.
Then, retired with that player & added a new manager & took over
Utd. You can see some remnants of the players - Isaac Wood is
actually Rooney & Dion Bakker is RvP. But ... they're basically
on the rubbish pile now :P.
It's taken me a few hours to work through things, set up new
views, etc (ones from FM Classic don't carry over) & start
looking for new strikers - severely lacking in this department.
I did make a save of this, so if anybody ever wants to try it
out, I can share it in Dropbox.

Ha funny you should say that Kiwi cos my most recent experience
of FM14 i did exactly that too, used the fake players. Started
with Dortmund and straight away i felt it was slightly better,
well not straight away but it felt like a good choice soon after
starting the game. However i got bored before the season even
hit October, not cos of the fake players just because i cant be
bothered with FM anymore, happens every year i buy it recently,
just get to a point and then im done with it.
I just play that top 11 these days. Wouldnt even say its great
but it does the job.

Yeah - pretty much been the same Eric - buy, lots of enthusiasm,
fizzles out quickly ... wait a few months & then rinse, repeat.
FM Classic is really great to zoom through. Don't get caught up
by way too many interviews! That gets me with the full mode.
Will give this random-future one a go ... Will see :p

I am back on FM at the moment.
My interest in it tends to sustained for long periods, then
switch off once I 'take a team as far as I can'.
Took Spurs as far as I could..
...had Neymar, Meesi, Hazard etc.. (Never managed to get
Ronaldo to join though).
...had basically 2 x first teams squads, one for cups/CL and one
for BPL,
..had a reserves squad brimming with top talent, who had to go
on loan every season because the first team squad was so packed
out.
Oh, and had 130m in the bank.
You reach the point where you think 'I've won.. I've beaten the
game'.
Just started new job with Swansea in the championship (I am on
FM2011).
It's great starting over, and trying to bring in new players.
