Mornin' ... watched a 2 min highlight video of the game. Indeed
Glad ... Pepe is crazy! Amazes me that you have someone with
talent, getting paid millions each year, then acts like that ...
on the stage where the whole world is watching. Embarrassment to
the game. Take him out back ... double tap. Job down.
Not quite sure if I saw enough, but it just appears that the
keeper once again looks really dodgy. Could he have kept 1,
maybe 2 of those out? Stats show that Germany certainly wasn't
peppering the keeper. The more I see, the more it seems like the
best keeper will win this tournament for his team.

agree with you guys, pepe head butting on a wc group game, that
is plain stupid... patricio should have stopped 3rd and 4th,
those were his gifts to germans, and us, making muller MOTM : )
speaking of keepers, sirigu and neuer seemed quite good to me.
on the CR front, disappointed with him, had high hopes but he
was almost non existent all thru the game.
and second goal, i think scored same many times this year, kroos
taking the corner kick, hummels heading in : ) so fifa is not
that unrealistic after all.

Good point about FIFA, votes, etc. Obviously the whole
Qatar-saga is so prevalent now which supports your comment Eric.
Also means that nothing will change whilst Blatter is in charge
(and Platini at UEFA).
I do wonder how complex it would be to get some sort of
structure set up. In 2006 Australia joined the Asia
confederation as it had an easier qualification path :o. The
Oceania group (where they were and where NZ still is) has to win
their group/region (not much competition there), and then move
into play-offs with the 4th team from CONCACAF - in this case it
was Mexico so no hope for NZ (lost the away game 1-5 & the home
one 2-4!).

That's just ludicrous IMO. Oh ... and the 2022 hosts are way off
even getting to a play-off position (which they'll lose anyway
way as it's 5th place from CONMEBOL - which was Uruguay this
time round).
... and now ... 15 min into the Iran - Nigeria game ... Iran
playing like schoolboys already & in true African form Nigeria
are spamming through balls. Great!

CR ... did not expect much given he was not 100% (not sure if he
looked the same today as the CL final).
Keepers ... the Iran keeper cannot even kick it straight up the
field ... ::) ... why am I watching this ... ???

As I said ... not watched all games. But this has been the
worst. Thankfully I'm doing some work ... so it's 'merely on the
side' at the moment.
Had to look ... World rankings ... Nig = 44 / Iran = 104. Yeah
... that shows.

Nigeria are pretty terrible, only watched 1st half but so many
long balls and poor finishing.
