Just turned on the tv to see some ski-jumping. First guy down
the slope is a german by the name of Andreas Wank, I kid you not
:D

right: why are the Dutch not so great on short distances?
Simple answer is we didn't focus on it untill a couple of years
ago. So we don't have a bunch of talents at that time. Since 10
-12 years it has become different. Sprint team is seperate from
long distance and have their own training. Actually the current
(ans last) World Champion is Dutch so we are good enough!
Nice thing about the 500 meters is that there are a lot of good
skaters, first 12 -15 can all win a Gold medal...it is so close

Caught up on the 500m speed skating. That was quite incredible
that 1-2-3. Congrats to the Dutch!!!

Yeah amazing.
We never really tried sprinting until a couple of useless
allrounders (their own words) tried it and were reasonable
successful and inspired youngsters and 10 years later its world
domination ;D
