Winter Olympics 2014

I always kinda preferred the Winter Olympics, not sure what it
was, just the different type of sports, or being impressed with
all the snow as a youngster, so will be looking to watch a good
bit of this one.
Favourite sports of mine that i like to watch are the speed
skating (love a good pile up on the final corner), the ski
jumps, and the bobsleigh for the sheer speed involved and the
minute fractions involved in winning the races. Don't mind
dabbling in a bit of ice hockey either. And then of course
there is the slalom skiiing events and the freestyle
snowboarding.
Ill be trying to catch a fair bit of this when i see my
favourite events on, so thought we could discuss it in here,
swap notes on excepetional performances and so on :)

Had that on too, but have opted to have a game of BF4 before the
footy comes on haha. I prefer the short distance speed skating
when there are 4 guys racing :)

I just love sports in general so watch anything live that I can.
Always liked the Winter Olympics - big fan of the Vancouver
Olympics in 2010. Have some great friends there which we visited
there a few years back - was a very close to moving there
instead of NZ. As a result we are 'pseudo-Canadians' :D.
So, will definitely be watching what I can supporting the
Canadians of course! Need another Ice Hockey final like in 2010
:P

not sure if in Kiwi's case watching Man Utd counts as world

Biathlon, or cross country skiiing with the shooting, I have to
wonder who on earth thought they should incorporate shooting
into a winter olympic event like that, seems tad bizarre. I
mean yeah it does add to the spectacle but some events just seem
like they have been thought up on a whim.
At the moment there is the womans downhall skiing on, obviously
it would help if i knew what the event was called, but they ski
downhill over a load of bumps for 30 seconds odds, and do 2
jumps, one fairly poxy 360 and another slightly better one after
that. Quick check on bbc site and i think its just called
freestyle skiing.
