Hey guys, not been on for a while had a bit of a mad couple of
months I won't bother boring you with the details.
So I finally gave in and picked up a xbox one. Got to say I'm
pretty impressed so far admittedly I'm finding the menu's a bit
cumbersome and hard to navigate, but I'm sure that will get
easier with practice. I am really missing the quick guide
button and friends list is a bit over complicated.
However all of my doubts were quickly forgotten when battlefield
made its way into the disc tray.
Wow, so I bought battlefield on 360 with the view of upgrading
to the one version. I put in about 15hours or so of gametime and
really enjoyed it (crashing and buggy menus aside) what a great
game, it's so refreshing after 5+ years of call of duty to play
a game where so many variable's are at work, I didn't realise
how destructive environment's could effect the game play so
much, I still keep forgetting when there's enemies hiding in a
building I can just blow a bloody great hole in the wall and lob
a grenade into join them.
Anyway as I mentioned I had plenty of time on the 360 version
and must admit I was skeptical about how big the difference
between the generation's was going to be. To put it simply the
difference is night and day.. The improvement is massive
everything is just so much smoother and the sound seems much
more dynamic, it's quite hard to explain but you really feel
it's a huge step up.
The 64 man Games are amazing there is so much going on its
unreal, it feels like your in a full scale war zone, if they can
do this so lag free on this scale on launch the possibility for
what they can achieve in the next few years is mind boggling.
Would be get a game with you chaps at some point this game is so
so much better when in a full squad with everyone in full
communication one organised squad in a game can be the tipping
point especially in rush.

Hey Benny, welcome back, hope lifes treating you kindly and that
things have settled down a bit now.
Interesting to hear of the comparison of BF4 on 360, never
played it on 360 so good to know that i shouldnt take the
smoothness, epicness and scale of it on the Xbox One for
granted. Looking forward to a big session on it tonight, only
been on in bits thru this week.
Do agree that the new setup takes a bit of getting used to.
Certain things have changed, Kinect commands like ive mentioned
before for one. I find as well that i dont really know where
to look for stuff like i used to. Like if your searching for
apps, unless you know specifically what you are looking for its
not that easy to find, for me at least. What about Demo's?
suppose there isnt many/any as the console is new out. Also
the xbox live arcade, does that even still exist??
Im sure as time goes on ill become more familiar with the setup
just some of it feels a bit alien at the moment. I mean it all
looks super snazzy tho. No complaints here over the product.

Hey Benny - good to see you back.
Interesting re the comparisons on BF4 - have been impressed so
far on that and more so Assassins Creed 4. The kid played a few
more games on Commander - all on Conquest. Got to send in a few
missiles & got some kills. Ended 2nd in one of the games too.
The most interesting part was hearing how many responses he was
getting from the players on the ground. Many were listening to
his commands & there even requests coming in for UAV scans.
Listening to his game play, I think there will definitely be a
bigger reliance on the Commander going forward (more so in
certain game modes).
He mentioned there were going to be some changes to the app too.
All sounds really good!

as always with BF after a couple of months the real Battlefield
verterans are only on it. They know how to play this game well.
Think the commander app will come to its full potential
got some kills with a missile too. Ground forces targeted a tank
and he was all mine ;D
if you are on te ground an squad leader don't forget to give
orders too! With the double XP at the monent you get 50 for
everyy one of them

How do you give orders? ive done it a few times unintentionally.
is it right on the d-pad?

@Eric, cheers mate think the worst is over now touch wood..
Yeah been having a few issues with the kinect but now I have
the commands it's working pretty well actually. I think half the
trouble it's probably under the impression that we all speak
like Hugh Grant. Everything just seems to be a bit of chore on
the new dashboard. For example if you look at game or app or
whatever in the store then switch to something else and then
come back to it later, your presented with whatever you looking
at before only this time there's no way of going back through
the menu's, it just takes you back to the home screen again.
Sounds silly but it's little things like that, that make you
wonder how the hell they miss them.
@Kiwi I must admit I am still in the dark a bit when it comes to
this commander business.. I have had it come up that one is
online but other than a occasional huge missile and the orange
highlight on an objective but other than that nothing. I've
never had any chance to refuse accept any commands as such. Very
interesting idea though could make for some amazing game play if
you could round up enough 'team' players to make it effective.

I think you hold the spot it brings a submenu to give orders..
It really does help if you all use the spot button especially in
these 64 man matches..

had quite a few games since finishing work tonight. Lag was
really bad at first but managed to get round it by picking my
servers on the laptop, just going for the dice ones, lag seemed
to disappear after that. The double xp is going down very
nicely. Been following some commands and getting bonus points
for that too. As long as you do what the order says ie attack
A, you dont have to accept, you might only get the bonus if you
kill someone there or secure the objective tho, not sure about
that, and dunno how you would actually reject it either.

Right a whole day of double XP awaits :) will try some other
games too but gonna be farming that XP on BF for a bit :P
