HANDICAP

Just got this off the Forum
This is a way to describe what a lot of people get ostracised
for calling "scripting", "momentum", "handicap".
It often seems overlooked but remember, these settings are all
in the menu, there is absolutely no reason not to believe that
these are all adjusted dynamically within the flow of a game.
Here's the list, straight from the in-game menu:
Sprint Speed.
Acceleration.
Shot Error.
Pass Error.
Shot Speed.
Pass Speed.
Injury Frequency.
Injury Severity.
Goalkeeper Ability.
Positioning: Marking.
Positioning: Run Frequency.
Positioning: Line Height.
Positioning: Line Length.
Positioning: Line Width.
Positioning: Fullback Positioning.
Power Bar.
First Touch Control Error.
Any of these sound familiar? Any of these seem different game to
game? Different at certain times within a game? Yeah.. thought
so. But of course the in-game menu doesn't exist and neither
will this topic soon.
My personal favourite is "Pass Error", and I quote:
"Increases/reduces the amount of error applied to a user team's
ground passes. This does not affect other types of passes."
Absolutely brilliant isn't it, basically, if you notice your
short passes are failing regularly, it's time to stop using them
and start spamming those LB/L1+Y/Triangle passes! Because of
course we can't have those going astray.
The other settings make for sad/hilarious/infuriating (you pick)
reading too.

Those sliders have been there a while. The momentum engine that
they put in to make it more realistic had to be based around
them but they TOOK THAT OUT.
So a lesser team that strings 2 passes together doesn't get a
boost anymore.
Of course.
Part of my own thinking is that lag can fool the CPU into giving
you negative momentum, thus adjusting the sliders in your
opponents favour.
Tho they did take momentum out.
They said so.
So those sliders are redundant.
Except in career mode, when the script kicks in.
Although they never put scripting in.
Certainly not in UT, they didn't.
So it must all be in our heads.

Ah ... ok, thought this was something different to the
"sliders".
Shows that my will for UT14 is fading. Still playing as I'm
totally addicted to (or severely missing) football.
Oops ... and yes Cuz, do agree that lag potentially fools "the
system" thereby gifting one player a whole bunch of momentum /
advantages / etc.

I've said this all along, it's all in the sliders, even more so
in FUT Seasons matches and the last 10 minutes of career mode
matches.
