We definitely threw it away. Missed far too many chances, the
worst being just before the equaliser. May never have a better
chance to get through so will take a while to get over

Just take it into the corner flag and run the clock down.

Thats the 2nd time in 3 years or so theyve come within a
whisker. It will happen soon for them. They played brilliant
for the most part and I dont think I've ever seen such bad luck.
I was gutted for them.

Well, either that or score*. Not pass it tamely to the 'keeper.
I was going to say he was knackered but I don't think he was on
long? Is he left footed or something?
*I'm glad Big Josh didn't take it to the corner in Lyon...

I agree. I felt a bit dirty wanting them to win, but I did have
a wee chuckle at some of the calamities to balance that out. I
must say when the header came off the bottom of the post I
thought it was a bit like when Lafferty hit the post against
Slovakia and that it was a bit ominous...

Another first for Linfield - the only Irish League club to be
knocked out of three European competitions before the end of
August.
Does this mean they drop into the Eurovision Song Contest LOL.

"Nul points" :)
(For Linfield, that is, dix points for the comment!)

So naïve to concede the equaliser. Why were so many Linfield
players charging forward when defending a 1-0 lead? Why didn't
they take it to the corner flag? The big guy Devine had done a
great job moments earlier of holding the ball up in the corner
flag. And if he was going to shoot why did Palmer side foot it?
Should have blasted it high and if it went over the bar that
would have been fine

Has GP Jim not been on to give his very unbiased assessment of
the situation. :-) :-)

He's probably still getting medical treatment for the trauma of
the worlds most successful team, the self-styled 'biggest team
in Ireland' not getting a result at the 'shrine'.
I can't help but raise a smile over the turn of events :-)
(But look forward to his latest updates on all things Glentoran)
