Simone Magill

Now confirmed that her knee injury is a "serious" one, meaning
her tournament is now over. No indication as yet when she may be
fit to resume playing:

I don't suppose she's thinking this way just now, but thank
goodness she signed her new contract with Aston Villa last
month.

Reading between the lines here, but I'm guessing she has done
her ACL?

terrible news, you have to feel for her

Now confirmed to be an ACL injury:
HTML https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62106856
This is surprisingly common in female athletes, including
footballers:
"The risk of ACL injury is unusually high in women’s soccer.
Female athletes have a 4-6x increased risk of ACL injuries than
males in cutting sports, and overall, girls are eight times more
likely to suffer an ACL injury than boys."

They could possibly play Kirsty McGuiness up front. She links up
well with Lauren Wade. The two out-and-out forwards, Emily
Wilson and Caitlin McGuiness where barely involved against
Norway. (Bizarrely, Caitlin was voted our second best player on
the BBC Post-Match poll. Pretty sure she didn't touch the ball
even once).
