That's pretty crap. Especially as she's playing at a higher
level than some of the others so she'd probably expected to be
in the squad

I think a few are meeting in The Red Lion, on High St (Below
Bar), the oldest pub in Southampton and in fact one of the
oldest in England. They were very welcoming to the SoENISC (10
years or so ago but I can't see that having changed).
Just to point out there is (or at least was) another Red Lion in
the city centre which paled in comparison.

etc, which includes the following info:
"Before heading to the stadium, why not stop by the Fan Party in
Palmerston Park and Above Bar Street. Open 12:00 – 18:00, expect
a packed programme of activity for the whole family, including
live music, roaming performers, and fun football activities."

I don't follow Women's football enough to comment on her being
dropped but looks like it's been poorly handled by Kenny.

Northern Ireland senior women's team manager Kenny Shiels had a
meeting with Ciara Watling and a number of other players before
last week's friendly against Belgium to inform her, and them,
they would not feature in that game or the UEFA Women's Euro
tournament in England.
Kenny and his staff thank Ciara and all those players who didn’t
make the final selection for their considerable contribution to
the squad’s tournament preparations.
They all have bright futures as part of the Northern Ireland
senior women’s team’s continuing journey.

Southampton were in the women's third division (south) last
season. Ciara was not a regular starter, mostly used in cup
competitions. Not sure how they would fare against the strongest
IL sides. Similar level?

Think they fly out today to Southampton , three tough games
await, hope they do us proud but can't see anything other than 3
defeats, in fact Id be happy if we even scored a few goals.

I tend to agree, it's a tough group. I'd be happy to see them
score a goal at a major tournament. Anything after that is just
gravy.

I can't get excited about this at all.
Totally indifferent to the women's game, and won't be watching a
second of it.
Fair play to those who do, but it's has about the same appeal to
me as women's rugby or women's cricket i.e. none whatsoever.

Sort of with you on that TB although I'll watch the women on
Thurs night but if they're getting beat I'd just turn it off....
strangely enough I like watching the really good Women teams
beat the real crap ones eg England v Moldova which could end up
20 -0, the football is hilarious at times and dies provide good
entertainment.

Well, I for one am looking forward to the games. It will be nice
to see some additional GAWA in Southampton and catch up with
some old friends. The football is more of a side issue, but then
having been an NI supporter for 30+ years that has often been
the case in the mens' game too. I'll be happy for us to score,
especially as I missed the game in Lyon in 2016. Anything else
is a bonus.
