So the IFA has confirmed that all football below "elite" level
has been stopped for four weeks. This is fair enough IMO, as
these players will be training/playing on a Saturday with
teammates and opposition players from wherever, then going into
work on Monday morning and mixing with colleagues.
However, how on earth can the Irish League be considered
"elite," never mind the weemin's equivalent? Sure, for some IPL
players this is their professional employment, but for the vast
       majority is is not.
I can understand fully professional teams being under the
umbrella of "elite" as they play and train with their colleagues
and this is their full-time job, but surely not the part-timers?
The same applies to rugby and GAA. Only Ulster should be
considered as elite (which I think is the case?), and no GAA
team on the planet should be considered elite.
       [/quote]
The GAA under 17 and under 20 teams have been considered elite.

Anyone else watch any of the streams put on for the non BBC
games at the weekend on. For some reason the Linfield match was
50p dearer than the other two but at £7.50 I thought it was a
decent price and the stream itself was perfect, no buffering and
was only about 20 seconds behind real life which is good for a
stream and I'd definitely buy again.

The two BBC streams were good as well. Thought Barry Johnstone
was a very good pundit on Saturday

Being reported the lower leagues will be called null and void
meaning no relegation from the top division. Will also have an
       effect on the Irish cup

Saw that as well. Championship and down voided, but Irish Cup to
be played quickly. Hopefully that's nearer the end of the season
as the Champ/PIL clubs in the cup haven't even trained together
since the week before Christmas, never mind being in any sort of
       position to compete.

Complete and utter shambles from the IFA and NIFl.
The lack of compassion they have shown to the second and third
       tier is disgraceful.
